I would try to tame the skrill. Imagine having the power to unleash a thunderstorm; if you master your understanding of electricity and currents, you can nullify its risks and have one of the most powerful dragons.
Only real problem is Skrills are almost impossible to train. I guess to medigate the problem would be to find either an egg or a hatchling...

Scariest part is Screaming Deaths are born once every 100 years give or take as a mutation of a Whispering Death. It posseses all of the dangerous traits of the original, but is bigger, faster, stronger, and best of all has perfect sight in the day. Not blind one bit. For everyone saying it's impossible to tame a skrill, watch half charred vigo with a dagger tame that thing in the span of a quarter of an episode to the point where it was loyal enough to go out with him on his death bed. Considering the thing was intelligent enough to outsmart hiccup and the gang, that thing knew they were both doomed fighting, yet it still stayed rather than ran away when vigo freed him, now that's loyalty

@@SolarPlasma Not cute enough and its too large, it wont be how to train your dragon its gonna be how the hell do i get up there to ride it and what do i hold onto? i dont have the resources to make or buy a skyscraper-sized saddle.
I’d actually train a skrill, a few things were made clear when vigo trained one, one, it is possible to train it, two, there extremely loyal, three affectionate. And if I made a rubber suit that redirects the electricity using shed scales I’d be able to fly it
Last I checked, the only thing that’s cuts close to rubber is leather possibly. Unless there’s a different insulating mentioned then inform me
Ask an electrician what insulators tend to be used, cause rubber, glass, plastic are a named few

I can't remember it's been like 4 years since I last watched it
@@QuakenRaimon yeah I remember. I sometimes rewatch it for the nostalgia
And let’s not forget that if you have a dagger you can basically hypnotize it in a way that way you could train it. And if you get that thing in water you can basically keep it from using his powers in general. (I find that weird because in the real world lightning actually conducts really well in water) but hey that’s what DreamWorks decided was the skrill’s weakness so it’s cannon
Remember the changewing? Can turn invisible and shoot acid. That one was dope
You know the changelings cool and all but put a saddle on it or even you you're writing an invisible dragon and you could be seen for the dragon can but how are you flying other than the dragon so net that thing down

In defense of the snow wraith: it's vision isn't shit, it simply has heat vision
Also going only off the show is extremely short sighted
There are so many dragons that may as well be impossible to train that aren't featured in the show
The dragon I would personally choose to tame would be the Screaming Death for three reasons :
A) It has a dope af design
B) If you manage to tame it there's no way that anyone on the right mind can come close to you when you have a dragon that's literally a flying tank on rapid-fire
C) If I remember correctly, the Screaming Death was stated to be a *baby* so if you were able to tame it, when it gets to adulthood, you'd have the equivalent of a flying Jormungandr/World Serpent like dragon with rapid-fire which would be both badass and hilarious because how tf would you ride a dragon that big?
I just realized that if you could find a vacant island and somehow managed to get an entire batch of whispering death eggs (since screaming deaths are a rare mutation that happen once every 100 years), you would not only have an entire army of whispering deaths, but you'd be meeting all their needs for tunnels and maybe a group? I don't know if they need groups or not, but I think I've seen them in groups before so maybe. And, once you get the first batch, you can do multiple raids for more eggs so that they could- without incest- breed and give you about 70 whispering deaths. Hell, you could make an entire fuckin tribe that bonds and lives with whispering deaths, securing an unbeatable tribe for generations to come!
Grab on and hold on tight! Do not let go!

Facts
Can we also take a second to talk about the Red Death?
It was brought up in a post I saw once and it really did catch my attention.
The Red Death just... exists.
We see it in the first movie then literally never again and it's never questioned what it was.
It's by my knowledge the only six eyed dragon, its able to dominate other dragons as an alpha, it had no entry in any dragon book (AT ALL, BEFORE OR AFTER), and despite technically being the entire reason why Hiccup LOST HIS LEG it's never referenced again.
What was that thing?
Dead now😂😂😂😂
You know, you'd think that Hookfang would be immune to the Deathsong's attack, seeing as they can readily set themselves on fire and all.
Probably a plot hole/over sight on behalf of the writers
from what i remember the death song’s amber mindnumbed the dragons encased in it, Hookfang may have gotten too tired to possibly set himself aflame. It also (if you look closely) managed to trap deadly nadders with their spikes up and ready to shoot, but couldnt.
Then again this might be entirely wrong, so take my words with grains of salt -Anon
He is. Literally melted it off sometime afterwards
A thing i love abt httyd is that all dragons look scientifically plausible at some point, like, some dragons clearly are evolutionary offshoots off the same species, like naders and whispering death look similar asf,and bouder class dragons are almost idêntical to some extent
one of my favorite parts of the realism is that firebreathing dragons build up gas in their mouths then light it to breath fire like thats super cool
Whispering Death is pretty scary and all, but then you remember that one of the ways to train it is to just brushing it's teeth and i find it still horrifying, but mostly misunderstood (Screaming Death in the meanwhile is a one man army mama's boy, as much as i want to, id rather not screw with it).
Also, training a Scauldron sounds like a pretty good excuse to start living near the ocean, which sounds pretty cool to me tbh.
I think 3,5, and 9 would actually be good if you could somehow find a way to train them without dying. The others are not only difficult to train but also pointless when you have them.

I like how for most of them he was like “holy shit it’s a walking death ball, I’d die, no thank you.”
And then for gronkles he it was just “they hella ugly and lazy tho”
Im surprised the Slitherwing wasnt mentioned, seeing how its a giant poisonous venomous snake that kills in twenty four hours upon touch.

Have fun feeding them.
I like the idea of a Skrill, a Speed Stinger, and Deathsong, but Red Death will be impossible to feed, and Screaming Death just seems like a bad idea..

@@Tyleregor4588 as Viggo said in Race to the Edge. "Berserkers used metal daggers to lure Skrills into traps" so assuming that you have a metal dagger on hand then you will be able to train it
Some of these Dragons are more so in a "A risky endeavour to train that might not be worth it" or "problematic/flat-out impossible to ride on."
Gronkles for example? Those chonky lads are honestly more useful for mining and forging.
Okay but let’s be honest, nobody would train a Night Fury until Hiccup did it and now we see the most feared dragon is a puppy dog. Whose to say a Skrill isn’t either. TLDR I’m risking it for a Skrill.
Screaming Death is one of my favorite dragons. The sound design was intense and overall terrifying
Yeah I might be dumb but I’d also tame a skrill personally because they are my favorite dragon and can rival night furies. You’d literally be riding lightning through the sky and I’d argue it’s the fastest dragon
I started wheezing when he said toothless a ‘cripple’😂😂
Another dragon I don’t want to train is the Fireworm Queen because her skin is hot enough to burn almost anything, some can create solar flare, have healing venom that can be used to reignite a Stoker Class dragon’s worn out fire, reflective skin, fire power combos with other Stoker Class dragons
that sounds amazing tho
@@zryan1493 I don’t want to have the possibility of burning to a crisp every time I train her much less ride her

But if I have to train adult one insted of a cub from the start, than NO THANK YOU

And then you remember why a screaming death is so terrifying- it's mother is a WHISPERING death.
Easy way to tame a skrill
Rase it since birth, so it imprints on you and becomes more social as a result
And if your worried about getting shocked, just use its dragon scale sheddings and use it to make armor, since I'm petty dam sure it's scales are stock proof or at least resistant enough to provide protection against electricity
I would love it if the UA-camr "Casual Geographic" did a videos on these dragons

Your opinions are so relatable because I agree with all of this 😭
not only are skills dangerous as all hell but they have a very good memory. in riders of berk there is an episode where a skrill that was trapped by the riders and it eventually escaped. while it was trapped the skrill grew a massive hatred towards hicup and toothless. when it escaped it attacked burk and the dragons edge untill it was captured by trappers and freed by the riders again. after all of this the riders went back to the same location where the skrill was trapped to but it back again but hicup changed his mind and set the skrill free. that is when the skrill forgave them
for the highly aggressive dragons you can only train them if you find their young tbh.

death songs seem easy to train as a youth, especialy if you can sing good, and the utility of essentially super glue is massive. you have the skill and time you got a super duper glue dispenser which can also be your singing buddy.
Let's be honest the skrill is one of the best picks, and once you know the trick you can tame it easy.

But cmon- speedy dragons that make it so your enemies can’t move? And the alphas are large enough that for a smaller person you’d be able to ride them!
I just adore the speed stingers- I find them so unique compared to the other dragons, especially how most of the time wingless dragons get killed off easily, but speed stingers, well not so much
You’re technically the new God of Thunder if you tame the Skrill.
Imagine having a son like hiccup. Man just out to tame dragons that can put the human race to existence and then bring it home so everyone, if not his friends, have to deal with it
