    Very well done. Love how well you explain. Your videos have taught me a lot. I fact, you have me using my side imaging more and more now that I understand it. At almost 73, you can teach an old dog new tricks. Thanks.

    Awesome informative video, one question I have is this; the down imaging is always behind the boat by the time you see it on the fish finder, so you are saying to hit those spots you basically need to be fishing behind the boat at all time? I am confused about that!

    I was wondering if you could do a show on a lake and before you start fishing show us the lowrance imaging and how fish are set up. Then discuss what baits work best when fish are set up this way as well as how you would fish the recommended baits.. This year I made a promise to fish offshore more and learn how to do it properly and successfully. I strike out most times when fishing offshore, so I stopped. I've realized this has polarized my fishing and has limited my success. I want to fish offshore everytime I'm on the water, but where do I start, what bait?

    Excellent. Thanks

  • @charlieperkins2911
    @charlieperkins2911 3 роки тому

    The transducer is in the upper right hand corner. the image is moving right to left, consisting of brief snap shots taken from the return of the transducer ping. If the transducer originates directly overhead the bottom of the lake, why doesn’t the image correspond to an image generated by a drone flying directly overhead of the feature being recorded? Instead it looks like the image is of the right flank of the bottom. For example, you show a bush that appears to be an image from the viewers vantage point of that bush, rather than from the transducer’s view, which is directly above.

    I know this is an older video, but I just discovered you. Quick question... a multifunction unit consists of what exactly? GPS, DEPTH, & FISH locator? I have 500 to spend and am worried about depth in our rivers (American/Sacramento) they are for sure lower than normal and we are new boat owners. Thanks so much! I suck at fishing, but keep on buying licenses only catch ZERO fish in 2 years. Hahhahaha

    I have a question, on the down imaging with the Helix 7 fish finder, how do you get the screen to stop changing to a larger view? It's almost like mine zooms in automatically. Can you shut that off somehow?

    "A tree that somebody dropped in the lake"? So someone actually hauled a tree in a boat just to drop it in the lake? If so, that's interesting.

    Why are you putting maps out like that? How bout you let everyone go out and find their spots, instead of taking the years and years of work we have put in to find areas and use them when we compete. Is this what they mean by "growing the sport?". All you are doing is ruining it for serious anglers. No good man. Do you see where I'm coming from?

      Some make a living at catching fish, and some make a living in teaching. I'm sure there are professionals in different fields who dislike those that show videos teaching people to save their money by doing it themselves. I've also learned in life that regardless of information, very few advance that much in performance. How do you feel about guides? I think Johnny is like a guide off and on the water, and is very good at what he does, and I personally see him growing in the sport and I wish we had more like him. I also respect your opinion and you have every right to give it.
