  • First off road wheeling trip with my Jeep Wrangler YJ after completing the gear install and 35s. This build has a lot further to go, so a quick overview of what I want to get done before we take on the Rubicon Trail later this year.

Man you should be very proud of all the hard work you’ve done. Looked and performed great from the looks of it. Breaking in my rear gears now, just re-geared the 35 to 410s and a Trutrac lsd, waiting on the front till I can buy an Ox locker. Keep up the good work, this has been a fun project to follow.

Thanks! Definitely a lot of time spent laying on concrete working on it but still have a lot I want to do. Glad the 35 regear went well!

Most excellent job you have done so far. You should be proud of yourself. I have 99 TJ I have been goofing around with for 22 years. They are perfect vehicle to mod and tinker with.

Good work on the Jeep. Great upgrades Great videos. Don't forget to add a inline power steering fluid filter when upgrading your steering system. It will make stuff last longer.

Love your videos man keep it up. I would suggest a transmission fluid temp gauge while you're doing the work. IMO its the most important thing you can keep an eye on while off roading especially in an automatic

Thanks! I have some ideas for a temp gauge and some changes to the dash. We'll see what I have time to get done though.

I did a WJ power steering pump on my XJ and drilled out the adapter thing. the power steering is incredible now one finger steering at idle, planning on drilling and tapping the stock box for hydro assist

@@HardEarnedBacon 32s but did this in prep for going 35s. if you take the pressure off the stock box with a hydro assist ram and support it with some sort of brace the steering box will be a lot happier.

@@Tanner731 I'll look into it. I'm considering taking it a step further to "futureproof" it for later on if I decide to go with bigger tires/axles in a few years.

@@HardEarnedBacon In my opinion the steering box bridge is one to be crossed when you are installing one tons and bigger tires. the hydro ram (if you buy the 8in stroke ram)) and the WJ power steering pump will be able to be used with one tons and whatever steering box you end up using be it JK, 70s bronco outside the frame, toyota, or PSC

What's your total lift, and what shocks are you running? Awesome build!

Thanks! I'm on 4" springs, 3/8" front shackles, 5/8" rear shackles, and a 1" BL. So roughly 5.5" overall, plus the bigger flares. Shocks are Skyjacker M95s.

I am in the middle of doing new gears and lockers on my LJ. I have done many modes to my jeep but my favorite is the atlas two speed gear box. it makes funny rocks and moon rocks so much more fun. There is no lurching, just creep wright along. Also when you are in a situation where you don’t need your lockers, turn them off your rig will steer more easely.

Take a knee when recording. To help you get a better perspective so it doesn't look like you're crawling at the mall. Nice improvements.
