🙋♀️ Hi from North Battleford Saskatchewan. I'm a new subscriber to your channel. I discovered your channel; after it was posted on the Sunshine Coast BC Facebook page. I lived in Sechelt as a teen in the 1990s. I have many family members and friends who live on the Sunshine Coast, arround Van and arround Nanaimo. I really enjoy seeing your daughter explore nature. Prayers as you move from Van to The Island. Moving with little kids can be stressful 🙏
Thanks! That was nice of them to share my video. I've never been to Saskatchewan but I'd like to visit one day. Do you get out to the West Coast to visit often? Happy you enjoy the videos, I'm excited to be moved but not for the move haha. Short term pain for long-term game!
@@PNWSamson sadly no I don't get out to the West Coast often. The last time was to Nanoose Bay; 8 yrs ago. Working and raising two teens with autism with my husband has kept us busy and broke. Normally we meet up with BC family in Edmonton. Safe move and safe travels 🙏
Haha That's what I call "Bermuda Visibility." It's rare, but from time to time it can be really nice. Generally in areas with lots of current and in the winter so that's the trade off. When the water temperature drops, the algae dies off and the visibility improves! Can be good in the summer if the stars align though!
Wow another great video! I'm amazed at the amount of clips, music, and commentary you film and put together to make one of these. I'd be sitting in front of my computer for a month to make a video 1/10th as complicated and not as polished!
Haha thanks man. I'll be honest, it's an effort. Sometimes I wonder if it's worth it. I know in 10-15-30 years looking back I won't regret it though. Nice to have a high definition memory book!
@@PNWSamson I've only got scraps of images from my decades of diving and wish I had more to remember the places I've been and things I've seen. So the HD memory book is also mostly why I make them. Eventually your children will also value them.
Great video, came across your channel recently and think its pretty cool. I recently moved and would mind giving shearfishing a go. Would love to hear recommendation on gear to look for and what to avoid. Local venders etc. Congrats on your upcoming move. Hope to bump into you on the streets & shoals. Thanks for the content.
Thanks man! Spearfishing is amazing. Endless fun and a decent workout. I would check out divingsports. They have a online shop and store front in Port Coquitlam. I would avoid cheap Amazon stuff as the neoprene is often inferior and wears out quick. Chat with the guys at the shop and they can recommend the best suit based on your measurements. Having a proper fit is super important in order to stay warm and comfortable.
@@PNWSamson Met with one of the gents at Divingsports yesterday. Super friendly guy how helped my find a perfect fitting mask. Hope to see you guys around Nanaimo as the years roll on.
Thanks man! And it sure is. The rockfish limit for the majority of the island, Gulf islands, and sunshine coast is 1. Once you hit the Northern Island the limits open up to 3! Makes the extra travel worth the expense.
@@PNWSamson that is so cool. I have a friend who freedives and spearfishes. How do I get into the hobby. I’m learning to scuba dive right now but I want to try freediving because it doesn’t require as much gear
@@tannernabozniak5196 Yeah, that's what's so great about freediving. Less gear, less work. Don't have to fill bottles, get gear recertified and we can also hike down to shoreline that is often un assessable to scuba divers. I would recommend training first and divingsports.ca sells all the gear. In Victoria there is Northwest freediving and also Bottom dwellers freediving who offer courses
Sad to hear you're leaving the LML, we'll miss you, but the island is the right place for you. Lovely video as always. You should get in touch with Vancouver Island Toutism and show them this Vid.
Thanks man! I'll be around the mainland lots but my home will be the island. We can't wait. That's not a bad idea, not sure what the process would be but I appreciate the suggestion!
Another world-beater video! I was pulled in for the whole 16 minutes. I seriously got a hint of nauseous just watching your crew in that surf. Goooo Seahawks!
Haha. Yeah man, pretty rough out! That places gets absolutely pounded during a storm. I'd like to just watch that one day! Thanks man, stoked you enjoyed it!
Hello, I am a huge fan and enjoy your videos a lot. May I make a fan request? I always wonder what the underwater world is like for the white rock pier breakwater (the side that is facing the open ocean). If you ever have a chance to check it out, look forward to your next video!😊
Haha that's funny. I just did a night dive there last night! I'm working on last week's edit but I'll be posting the white rock one soon. Stay tuned and thanks for the support! Happy you like the channel.
Island has many spectacular fresh water rivers, check out Medicine bowls/Barbers hole if you get the chance, just up the road from Nymph Falls. There's also a sweet spot on Nanaimo River: 1075 Nanaimo River Rd #1561, There's a massive channel and some spots are decently deep
@@PNWSamson I live out in Harrison Hot springs. I`m out in the lowermainland. I have all my gear. I do small dives out in the lakes here sometimes but I avoid going deeper than 20 feet because I`m alone. :(
Thank you for your videos
My pleasure!

Another great vid, moving to Victoria in September, currently gallivanting all around the Vancouver area, don't think I'll ever move away
You won’t regret it. I moved to Vic six years ago and still feel lucky.
You won't man. Vancouver is beautiful but the island in an outdoor lovers paradise!

dude....you honestly have to see if you can get BC Ferries to sponsor you...your ferry costs must be horrendous! Great video again!! :)
Haha I wish! It is getting expensive. Maybe one day!!
Oh, and thanks man!
The big day is coming quick, congratulations again! 🤙

Chris, these videos keep getting better and better.
