Nothing beats a zildjian earth ride for a dark sound
Is that a Limited edition Cymbals from Zildjian? Yes or no? And why?
@@anthonyn1312 not sure.
What is the snare in this vid?
Everyone is saying they don’t like the crashes but honestly I love all these cymbals. I just picked up this set and the crashes sound amazing and dark in person, but with that being said the ride is def the star in this pack
Who is saying that? I read down about 50 posts and didn't come across one person saying they didn't like the crashes.
@@fartpooboxohyeah8611every video has people complaining about them lol.
I don’t like the crashes.
Sound a million times better than the previous "S" line. They have a cool dry tone, plus look cool.
That ride is the gem of the bunch!
I can see these being very popular! Dark cymbals at a reasonable price point. Great drumming Nick!
The cymbals are dark in colour but they don't sound as dark as B20 cymbals, even the "shiny, bright" A Customs. Tricky marketing
I like them!!!!! Great sounding mid level cymbals…. I would rather have a 17” instead of the 16” or give you the option of having a 17” and 19” crash!
Sweetwater are the king of demos!
I hate the extremely bright regular S series. But I dig this
I normally prefer sabian/meinl, but wow! These sound very impressive for the price! Very dark, very rich; I'm impressed!
Everyone comments on the cymbals and here I am all excited Nick is playing on a Mapex drum set. 😎
I will say the dark cymbals sound so nice...makes me think of the K lineup for sure.
Nah, Mapex bass drum but the snare looks to be a Ludwig Universal brass.
Señor Virgilio, I love your Jazz-grooves, when you combine the snare and kick together and the dark wash with this puppies, salud!!
These actually sound really good
I am not a drummer but I absolutely love the sound of certain cymbals and how they combine with certain snares. Not really loving the snare in this video, but these cymbals sound nice and crisp. That ride sounds NICE. Wish I was coordinated enough to actually play drums. Unfortunately just strings and keys for me.
Dude if you can play the piano and the guitar you can definitely play drums. Haha I play drums because I'm not good enough to play anything else.
Lets get it! Incredible demo 💯🥁
I came for the hi-hats. They sound pleasant for how they're priced. I'd love to have them standalone rather than exclusively in a pack.
These sound amazing. Incredible demo!! The ride is sollllllid.
PSS: If you can, and want to be a better drummer - learn how to read regular Treble clef and Bass clef music, not just drum sheet music (which I'm not too fond of. and I'm not saying learn to play other instruments, as much as saying learn how to read music).
@@johannjohann6523 it’s not just to be a better drummer but overall well rounded musician.
Went to school for piano, took guitar lessons and learned tablature, then behind all that I was taking lessons on drums for over 5 years privately so I guess I’m good 😅 well rounded.
These sound and look amazing! I love these!
are they going to make different sizes? 19/20 inch crashes, 22 inch ride ?
I'm gonna watch this a couple times that's a hell of a groove
Luv that little opener😎
Did they really do a meinl?Classics custom DARK rings a BELL.
I litterally was thinking the same thing!!!
Yepp. I have the Meinl. Sound about the same.
Sounds is about the same, yet these do look better.
Every company rips every company.
Some random “no name” company made the first “clapper” and now that’s the new thing.
Same with the Mike Portnoy Max Stax and dozens of other designs I can’t sling off the top of my head
@@wurdofwizdumb1928 ur tripping if you don’t know Istanbul Agop and think of them as a “no name” company 😂
They sound very nice.
Liked everything except the 16. Good job Zildjian.
Very nice Sound Option
The ride is the standout for me. Sounds great
Those sound really good thanks for the video Nick 👋🤘😃🎶🎶☄️💥🍻🛸
That ride sounds great!
dope ride and pretty sweet hats
"that thing right there"
Zildjian is on fire since a while ! 🔥
Meinl: hey guys, look at this cool and unique twist we put on our line of midrange cymbals.
Zildjian: 😈
those hi hats man they sound unreal
Beautiful!!!!
Thanks for the review! I play on more of the random sized Zildjian S (15 S thin for top hat, 15 pitch black for bottom hat, 17 S thin crash, 18 ZHT EFX, 24 S ride, 20 S thin crash and 20 S trash) I hope they make some of these in 15 Hats, 17 crash, 19 crash, 21 ride, 23 ride.
Yo whaaaaaaat those hihats took me by surprise 🙀 I reckon they sound mint!!
Great demo. I love my S rock 22 ride 🤤🥰 It's my favorite all around ride, but of course you can't beat the bell on the mega bell ride 😂🤷♂️
I’m having a really hard time picking between this or the Meinl Custom Classic Darks. If the zildjians were sold individually and maybe came in different sizes it would be an easy win for Zildjian. Meinl has the different sizes and more freedom with my choices.
Having recently bought some classic custom darks, I find the crashes have too much sustain, to the point where it ruins any piece of music involving choking. The ride on the other hand I love. The sustain for the S darks in this vid sound like they have less sustain, but that might just be the recording. I would go for the S Darks if I had to choose one or the other based on this video.
I waiting for the demo on these bad guys
These S cymbals are just beautiful what's the price for the set?
Hope they come out with a dark s china.
The new Zildjian MyNuhl series! ;)
The meinls sound nothing like these
Are these going to be sold separately?
ok these sound really good, way better then the minel "dark" version
Hey Nick is there timeframe for when these will be sold individual I got to get that 18
They don't sound terrible at all on the recording but used thin 'pro' B20 cymbals cost the same. You don't need beginner cymbals.
These or the Meinl Custom Dark Cymbal pack? 🤔🤔🤔
Instantly I said wow listening from my S22ultra phone
Love the ride. But I want a big bell version 😕 I love zildjians mega bell ride same from Minel but mannn are zildjians expensive
What’s the snare in the video? I tried to click the link and it says there’s an issue so I can’t see all of the gear being used
Very staccato
Is it just me, or does the 18" crash sound higher pitched than the 16"?
In some other reviews the crashes sound pretty bad. The hats and ride always sound great, imo. I guess it all depends on mics and placement.
Which snare is that
These honestly sound fairly bright and tinny. Meinl custom darks for the win
I want to know hi hat stand that is, thing jumps around really bad
Dw9000 is very smooth for me
How thick are they? Do they work if I like thin style?
Hello, Erik! Zildjian doesn’t publish a weight spec on these, but I venture to say that if you like thin crashes especially, that you will like this set.
Due to the hammering pattern, these have a dark tone and a quick decay. If you ask me, these are easily the most exciting, non B-20 bronze cymbals on the market.
Thanks for the interest!

Why Zildjian did not post this?
@UCJ5LG6rdXMH5GdfW1g51KBw ??🤣
It's literally just the Meinl Classics Custom Dark. Sounds exactly the same.
Istnabul agop but with b12 bronze
OMG only $630 for the set? I was expecting a few grand!!!!
A few grand for these? Cheap alloy, machine made with some dirt on them to call em "dark".
@@whistleblowerer6527 the meinls are better than these and I still don’t think those cymbals sound that great other than the fx ones.
Looks like Zildjian got a whiff of how tasty Meinl's CCD's were.
Crashes sound ehhh, but the ride and highhats are tight
still more expensive than the meinl custom darks
Meinl has entered the chat.
Lovely hats and ride. Who cares if they're copying Meinl, Meinl copied the Constantinople line. Just be thankful that they're good copies with their personality. Who doesn't like more options?
Exactly and more competition the more the bigger brands have to improve.
I like the hi-hats and the ride, but not a he crashes.
Not bad only zildjians I own are the old school platinums im a paiste guy though
No wonder you’re a paiste guy. The platinums were absolutely a flop. They sound kinda bad.
The sass
Just give me an earth ride or a vintage K
The hats and ride are good but gonna be honest not a huge fan of the crashes
I think it’s funny that Zildjian does it so much better…… with their cheap stuff too 😂😂😂🔥🔥🔥 USA will do it better every time. All of the time 🤘🏽
I stopped using zildjian a long time ago. Those cymbals are glass.
Anyone else bothered by the super wobbly hi-hat stand?
lol that ride is a crash
Crazy huh, who would have thought that could be a thing
With all due respect, this brand copies Meinl. Or maby, I'm being a hater
Considering Zildjian has been around since the 1600's and Meinl is only from 1953.....
@@jacobback3859 what is the point?
@@namlu9979 claiming that one brand is copying another is idiotic....
@@jacobback3859 that is your opinion... I do not agree with you... but that's ok
And Meinl copies Istanbul Agop.
They sound like extremely cheap cymbals with dirt on them. And yet they are more expensive than less known brands of quality cymbals from turkey
Eh. Sound pretty plain and one dimensional. Borderline dead. And a promotional video like this is the absolute best case scenario. I thought the regular S hats were a decent "effects hi hat," even if they were pretty terrible outside of that. These just sound like cheap cymbals trying to sound less cheap.
Crashes are garbage. Ride is pretty decent. Hats are ok.
They are horrible, the hats are ok. Save some extra scratch and buy A or K.
These are really nice, I want to get a set of these if I ever transcend the barrier between being a dude learning how to play the drums into the land of being a drummer learning how to get better at playing the drums.
Hint to good drum sound: Always buy the most expensive cymbals you can afford. New or used doesn't matter. There is a big difference in sound quality where today's drum are the best for the price allowing regular drummers to have nice drums. Also, Because of the quality of the new drum heads, you can can a mid-level kit and make it sound really good. I worked and saved to buy my drums new. Everytime, spent more on the cymbals (since they need stands too) than the drums ( and because I was dumb and sold my kits. yeah don't do that either :)
PS I do like the sound of these cymbals, but have always, yes always played Zildjian A series cymbals.
SOUND VERY CHEAP.
