- Our second day in Shanghai, China and it did not disappoint. There is so much to go and see and we get straight stuck into the Marriage Market at the People's Park and what an interesting morning, but there was much more to see so we hop on the Metro and make a trip to the Old Shanghai Street, a famous Temple and finally check out the Financial District and see the Oriental Pearl Tower up close and personal.
What a city and what a day, make sure to stay tuned and hit that subscribe button to see what else we get up to in China!

I am a Malaysian Chinese. Before I went to China, I thought that China was not free. The media in Europe and the United States and Taiwan Province all reported negatively. Since I went to China in May this year, I found that it was not what the media reported. China is a thriving scene. I have planned my next trip to China, and I am looking forward to it.
less western medias, better life you get buddy.
It truly takes a visit to know that all you have been told about China through MSM is a lie

Well done. You exited the Matrx - lol
Actually visiting china will open your mind. Thought its super strict and not free but honestly felt more free in china than the US. It also very safe and people are friendly.
We found the same! I thought we wouldn’t have many interactions with people and we had so many which I love when travelling
@@EoinandAisling If you can get a Chinese person close to you, such as a hotel attendant at the hotel you are staying at, to help you purchase a translator from 京东(JD), you will open up a new world in China. These translators can be used globally, and support almost every language on the planet. Because in China's big cities, what you buy in the morning may be delivered in the afternoon, or at the latest tomorrow morning, so you don't have to worry that you won't be able to receive the product.1. 时空壶(timekettle) 2. 讯飞(iFLYTEK)
Almost all mainstream media have nothing positive to report on China either about the Government or the freedom of the people. In the same breath, every single independent visitor from around the world is surprised that China is not what the media would have him/her believed. Many felt that they have been lied to by their government propaganda and vow to return for further visit.
Seeing is believing and the convenience of 144 hours Visa free is a clever scheme by China to induce private foreign travelers who, after the visit, will return with a true view of modern China and its people.
Everyday, I see these videos from young people from outside China who are amazed by their Chinese trips. You really have to visit yourself to believe what you see. Enjoy.
Such true words! Thank you so much ☺️
Me too. After watching these videos, I can't wait to visit China again. I sure will visit Shanghai again & very interesting to see high tech Shen Zhen.

My Australian friends just came back from Shen Zhen and Shang Hai China and they told me Shen Zhen is just so much more advanced, beautiful and livable than Sydney.Shen Zhen is better than Shang Hai too . The food is so cheap and delicious in China.

Without fail every traveller to China showed in their vlogs the typical lives of the Chinese people and not unsurprisingly the locals don't appear oppressed or miserable as continuosly slandered by US/Western politicians and media. This really vindicated my distrust of their reports on China lol.
the pan fried buns are called Sheng Jian Bao they are a Shanghai specialty. The trick is chopstick + spoon, bite a small hole into the skin and slurp the soup out its still very hot of course ! but here's the best part make a condiments mixture of the black Vinegar + chilli oil and dip the bun into it. chefs kiss!
We couldn’t find any spoons! We were so confused haha but oh they were amazing!
Also that mixture sounds amazing
Dumplings, steamed buns, and pan-fried buns are three traditional Chinese foods, each with distinct differences in shape, preparation, and flavor.
Dumplings (Jiaozi)
- Shape: Typically crescent-shaped with pleated edges.
- Dough: Made with thin, unleavened dough.
- Filling: Varied, including meats (such as pork, beef, chicken), seafood (such as shrimp, fish), and vegetables (such as cabbage, chives, mushrooms).
- Preparation: Can be boiled, steamed, pan-fried, or deep-fried. Boiling is the most common method, where dumplings are cooked in water until they float to the top.
- Serving: Often enjoyed as a main meal or during festivals, usually served with dipping sauces like soy sauce, vinegar, or chili oil.
Steamed Buns (Baozi)
- Shape: Generally round with a pinched top, resembling a small pouch.
- Dough: Made with thick, leavened dough, which is soft and fluffy.
- Filling: Includes meat fillings (such as pork, beef, chicken), vegetarian fillings (such as cabbage, mushrooms, tofu), and sweet fillings (such as red bean paste, lotus seed paste, custard).
- Preparation: Primarily steamed in a steamer for about 10-15 minutes until fully cooked.
- Serving: Commonly eaten as breakfast or a snack, especially in northern China, often paired with soy milk or porridge.
Pan-Fried Buns (Sheng Jian Bao)
- Shape: Typically round with a flat bottom.
- Dough: Made with thick, leavened dough, similar to steamed buns, which is soft and fluffy.
- Filling: Mainly meat fillings, often pork, with a juicy center.
- Preparation: First pan-fried to achieve a golden-brown bottom, then a small amount of water is added, and the buns are covered to steam, cooking the tops through.
- Serving: Usually eaten as breakfast or a snack. They have a crispy bottom and a juicy interior, often served with vinegar and ginger strips.
Summary
- Dumplings (Jiaozi): Crescent-shaped, thin unleavened dough, various fillings, can be boiled, steamed, pan-fried, or deep-fried.
- Steamed Buns (Baozi): Round with a pinched top, thick leavened dough, steamed, with a variety of fillings including sweet options.
- Pan-Fried Buns (Sheng Jian Bao): Round with a flat bottom, thick leavened dough, pan-fried then steamed, usually filled with juicy meat.
Thank you for this much needed explanation! The sheng Jian baos are our favourites

Vinegar and sashimi buns are a perfect match. The correct way to eat it is to take a small bite and slowly suck the soup inside.

The delicious food in China is actually found in low-end and mid-range restaurants, with a few in high-end restaurants.
We love a low end restaurant
Agreed, high end restaurant in China just for vibes, not for food.

The actual Yu Garden (or Yu yuan) is the main tourist attraction there was built in Ming Dynasty 16th century so it is ancient, which you don't seem to have visited. However the Yuyuan Bazaar surrounding it, which you went is only the modern part built in recent times, in the same Ming style to house modern souvenir shops for tourism.
Thanks for sharing! We didn’t visit the Yu Gardens this day but heard they are beautiful

Very good video, I have followed it and hope to see more creative works from you. Also, welcome to China
Nice
The Yu garden area is actually very old. It has been a market place for the locals since early Ming dynasty. The Yu Garden, which is located in the center of the market, is more than 400 years old.
Match making in the people's park is a wild concept for westerners. I saw one in Chengdu people's park. I find it very interesting... Maybe only in China.
Almost all Chinese cities have such a corner.
Lovely travel vlog. You guys are warm and lovely. I love to visit SH someday

Tofu, dumplings, buns, and soup should not be eaten at high temperatures as they may burn the esophagus and mouth and cause ulcers.
We sometimes can’t help ourselves haha
You are suppose to hold the pot sticker or the pan fried "dumpling" in a Chinese spoon. Pour some rice vinegar onto it before buying a small hole and drink the juice first 😊

Interest and hobbies are things the couple find out themselves. The market is finding potential suitable partners, like how job agents negotiate on your behalf before the actual interview... It's the opposite of Tinder can probably keep you from making bad choices! 😂
Great video
incredible the dazzling change of china
where will China stop?
Yes, there are many young people who find it difficult to meet the opposite sex because of their work or personality. So in that "market" if there is a suitable opposite sex, contact information will be exchanged, and young people will understand each other's interests and hobbies through contact, and stability has passed the test, may develop to marriage. I think it's a very effective tool.
Really fantastic video!! I really love it, and it literally shows the life I had back in college in Shanghai. I appreciate you guys recorded the memories, which also throw me back!! Thank you! China is really not that evil as the media depicted, hope people can explore the country in real life!!!

Dia duit Omg both of you sound very distinct Irish.
Most foreign media reports on China are fake or negative, and few people in mainland China like to watch foreign news. Recently, China has opened up tourism, and foreign bloggers have reported positively on China, which has also been widely spread on Chinese social media. Therefore, many of my colleagues have started creating accounts on UA-cam.😁

In China, interest and hobbies are not something married people share. Men will have male friends and female female friends.Chinese has a sense a tranditional values where family is no.1 and thus their shared interst is the family and raising their own family. Unlike the west where individualism is leading to fragmentation of socitiy and the self with destruction of religion, the family and the self.

China Exploration Travel is divided into 9 levels. Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Macau, Guangzhou and Shenzhen are just the first-level novice villages for foreign friends to explore China. The second-level novice villages are: Hangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, Xi'an, Hainan. The third-level novice villages are: Yunnan Lijiang, Dali, Kunming, Lugu Lake, Leshan, Dujiangyan, Emei Mountain, Jiuzhaigou, Zhangjiajie, Hebei. The fourth-level novice villages are: Sichuan Siguniang Mountain, Northeast Harbin, Jiangsu Nanjing, Qingdao, Dalian, Tianjin...
I see we have made it to the second level, however we will level up in the future 😂

Obviously nonsense even though some get incentives from local governments. However I can see why people say this. So unbelievably biased most channels. Some pic of homelessness in US and then some beautiful pic of China. It’s unnecessary. It’s pathetic. The exaggerations about the west is also ridiculous. This is the real situation in China. Almost everyone is very satisfied with life, especially the Chinese people who have experienced poverty all the way. The Chinese people are experiencing the best living conditions in history, with cheap and high-quality communications, transportation, and water sources. , electricity, delicious food, safe streets, very low crime rate, people's dignity and equality, international status, I am not saying that CPC has no problems at all, it still makes people dissatisfied in some places, such as the excessive treatment of international students, There are occasional incidents of unfinished buildings, and the difficulty of college entrance examinations in different provinces is different, but we really don’t need anyone to “voice” for us, and we don’t need the so-called Western “freedom” and “liberation”. That’s really ridiculous, Western media Subversive rhetoric will only bring chaos, war and poverty to the Chinese people
The public opinion weapons of the Western media always hope to subvert every political system that challenges their country and then assimilate those ethnic groups. Finally, they say that I have brought you "liberation", "freedom" and "democracy", thank us!
There are many reasons why China is misunderstood. First, some Western countries, led by the United States, do not like things that are different from them, especially political systems and religious beliefs. They lack tolerance and equality; Second, China's rapid progress has made some countries very uncomfortable. They have lost the sense of superiority and pride that they have long held as the center of the world, generating jealousy and even hatred. Third, most of the major social media and software on the Internet are controlled by Americans. They have long encouraged content that defames China and restricted the dissemination of content that benefits China. So I want to show you a real China. You can also point out what you feel uncomfortable about. As long as it is objective and impartial, we can accept it with an open mind and continuously improve.
China invented dumplings..... They ARE dumplings, you will see plenty of different dumplings of all shapes and sizes... theyre called pan fried dumplings
Are you guys visiting Chengdu? Please go visit you will love it!!❤

Thats because Chinese young people dont like dating with persons with such way in fact... Just show your conditions, not cultivate interest, I dont like it also. But our parents wanna us marry earlier, so they just care about so much.
