Fantastic video! Just a quick observation, in China, everything is digitalized now. There are Chinese apps and miniprograms for everything! There are reviews available for virtually everything too (reliable and unreliable ones same as in Google). Unlike our Western countries, China has developed its own ecosystem of apps by displacing the American tech monopolies (nobody banned them, they refused to comply with the local laws and left for good). If you check the few countries that have their own alternatives to the major tech giants like META, Google, and Microsoft, they are all labeled as "the axis of evil" but the reality is that they just pushed for their own independence and refused to bow down to these American monopolies to build their own. You saw the facts about China in person now, I'm glad more people can see it by visiting this beautiful country. Cheers from Shanghai!
I just came back from China. What’s so great about China other than the infrastructure, safety, modernity, and efficiency is the small alleys where you can find mom and pop stores selling very delicious and inexpensive foods. Chinese alleys are very clean and safe. I love to stay in high end hotels but eat and walk around alleys. The people in the alleys are also very friendly.
Every country has its bad and good. If I’m traveling, hopefully it will be in the good. You would travel to a city in a safe area like New York, but stay away from bad cities like Chicago. Personally, I was a big fan of Korea, china nice, but Korea music is lit.

You were not supposed to pour the soup into the noodle bowl. This noodle is called "Cong You Ban Mian" which means "green onion oil blend noodles". You are supposed to eat the noodles dry and the soup is like a side dish for you to enjoy after eating the dry noodles.
let me explain: the soldiers at the new Garden were trying to control not to be too overcrowded. As some years ago there’s terrible accident when too many people went to the Bund to do sight viewing at new year.
I guessed you are not aware that apps such as Google, Facebook, UA-cam etc are not banned in China but because these operators refused to adhere to Chinese laws and regulations, they can't or decided not to operate in China.
Yes. You are right. TikTok put the servers in US to comply with US data security and privacy rules and regulations otherwise TikTok is not allowed in US. Google, Facebook, Instagram, etc did not do the same for complaint with China rules and regulations so they withdrew from China market. However, western media and politicians, such as US ambassador in Beijing, will always purposely accuse (smear) China banned them which is not true. It’s very unprofessional for a person like ambassador to tell lies in front of media (Bloomberg) but then it’s US politician way to do it publicly and shamelessly .

it was a little tricky to figure out and set up, but once i got it working, i loved using it! i personally preferred alipay over wechat, loved the built-in translation feature that could translate any page in the app!
Alipay and Wechat pay is not easy to use. You need a Chinese bank card. Visa doesn't work. But it's pretty convenient once you link your Chinese bank card
Cash can still be used in China. I'm from Anhui Province, China. Young people are accustomed to paying electronically, but cash can still be used. It is not impossible to consume without Alipay

bro. You literally walked right pass one of the must try restaurant 3:48 in Shanghai. That 大富贵 is the frist Anhui Cuisine restaurant in Shanghai.
Although over years they falling out of the fine dinning restaurant category. They still have some unique dishes and dim sum, especially everyday between 9:30am to 13:00pm. Cold noodle is a must try.
Thank you for sharing the truth to the world.
You are a HERO for many of us.
One major misinformation at the end of this video to be corrected: In China, actually, people use 高德地图 GaoDe Map, a way better alternative to Google Map in China. It even show count down seconds of traffic light on the map in direction mode.
Correct the main map used in China is GaoDe Google you need a VPN to use in China, most offer traffic light seconds - Bai Du, Tencent (Q,Q) even our Tesla (Baidu) now has traffic light count down
That's right, I was also shocked when I first used it!

That "Welcome to China" is the best intro of travelling vlog 👍
You were not supposed to pour the soup into the noodle bowl. This noodle is called "Cong You Ban Mian" which means "green onion oil blend noodles". You are supposed to eat the noodles dry and the soup is like a side dish for you to enjoy after eating the dry noodles.
Good to know!

Thank you for showing the unbiased truth about China. It must be seen and experienced.
I guessed you are not aware that apps such as Google, Facebook, UA-cam etc are not banned in China but because these operators refused to adhere to Chinese laws and regulations, they can't or decided not to operate in China.
Exactly this 👆
他们怕遵守中国法律,等下被说支持共产党监控等等莫须有名义来限制中国人。所以他们在中国发展不起来。
Hmm so you're saying the US should do the same for TikTok?
FYI, China doesn’t ban foreign apps. As long as companies follow the rules and regulations, they are welcome.

I watched the travel video about Shanghai, and it instantly took me back to my own visit there during the same time. Shanghai is an incredible city, tks bro
wow thanks for posting this! Im visiting China for the first time next week and got nervous of what i used to think of china lol then i started checking out youtube and tiktok, it really threw me off in a good way. Now im super excited to go!
welcome to China
Welcome to China!
Great that you introduced how to use Alipay. That’s something that confuses foreigners the most .😂
it was a little tricky to figure out and set up, but once i got it working, i loved using it! i personally preferred alipay over wechat, loved the built-in translation feature that could translate any page in the app!

Thanks for sharing Doug. I went to Shanghai 10 years ago and it was massive then.
There's so much of a mix of old and new!!Loved the markets there.
China is for the people, instead of the 1% super riches.

You sure? 扯淡把😂
He is right. The China government's administrative philosophy serves all China people, and many policies are more beneficial to the weak. For example, ethnic minorities have many rights that Han people do not have, such as financial support, technical support and extra points in exams.
Wow that quality of image tho. Amazing

In China, people use Da Zhong dian ping to find a good local restaurant.
我们一般使用高德地图导航寻找美食(I am use gao de di tu to find delicious food )
o that rice wine place is nice, i need visit that place when i go next time. regarding your comment about the google reviews and stuff, I'm sure there are Chinese versions of it, just for foreigners u wont know about it. but like you said, more spontaneous visits to places. enjoy man
I am still feeling the blues since my return from a 2 week vacation in China a few days go (first visit). During our entire stay in Shanghai, Beijing, Nanjing and Hangzhou, the sky colour was sunny blue, with friendly people (very crowded though). No polluted skies as often depicted in our news here in Europe whenever China is reported!
this is your fans from Shanghai, so excited to see this vlog, and really recommand you to visit Da Xue Road😀
thank you!!
Oh,no! Just mix all the ingredients with the noodles in the bowl and then you can enjoy it. The soup you poured into is served as a side in this case 😅
