Additionally, the cost of my progressive lenses far exceeded the initial price, much more than just a few hundred dollars. Nevertheless, thank you for the video. Well done!
Not a fan of the thumbnail but good review. I've been on the subreddit for a month now as I wait for mine to be delivered so I've seen a few other users give reviews too. The consensus is apart from the software bugs and growing pains, they love the glasses. The software side is easy to fix and there is a lot of potential once the sdk is out in the wild.
Definitely agree with the thumbnail being lame, and I respect if/when I get downvotes for it. What's weird is that it's on a single feature, and one that doesn't make too much sense. It almost seems like they just stuffed that in there for the sake of having a subscription model for it.
Hey thank you for review! I was just wondering how long did it take for the glasses to arrive? Bought them a few days ago. Just wanted to make sure it isn't scam.
Not a scam thankfully lol; I ordered them July 16th and they arrived August 27th. I’ve heard they’re currently trying to catch up to demand, as well as manufacturing more of the alternate color ways.
Great review, thank you! I’ve been thinking about buying those, now I am feeling a little bit less in love with them. And this is really a good eye-opener. Probably I will buy them in the long run, but not in a crazy fashioned way. Thanks again.
The subscription for translations is ok specially if it’s using AI which is the case. It has costs. The user will not be always doing it so in my opinion it’s the current pricing is acceptable.
I don't know if it was clear in your presentation, but unfortunately these glasses don't have audio capabilities. I was almost buying them until I noticed this "issue" When you talk "silent" mode, it can be misleading. But I love the concept
Yep! Though I’ve had them randomly turn in for a few seconds even when on silent, then they turn back off. Sometimes, this will happen AND the displays won’t be synced up. It’s rare; about 2% chance of it happening.
I dont know about your location, but it is illegal in mine to text and drive. If you had it on, and you said you did, then the accident was 100% your fault. I am interested in these because I have hearing damage, and speech is difficult for me outside of quiet spaces. If I could get glasses that printed text in louder public spaves, it would be a life changer.
You can't send text messages through the glasses. The notifications though do pop up, so if I get a message, it shows up if I raise my head which is the issue I was having if I wasn't being careful. The HUD isn't always enabled.
@josehnegrete a judge in this state, doesn't care if you are not typing when you hit another car. If you're reading a text, you are at fault when you strike that car. Youvare not concentrating on the road. You admitted the device had a mode that shuts off distractions and that you either forgot or neglected to use it. On a phone, we would call that airplane mode. You HAD a choice to put the device in a safe mode. You did not. You admitted you did not. Therefore, you are not 90 something percent at fault... you must be 100% at fault. And those actions deprived another person of their property that can never be returned to original condition. If I stick my hand into a running table saw blade, I'm not 95% at fault... I'm 100% at fault and stupid. If I shoot a deer and miss hitting another person ... I'm not 95% at fault... I'm 100% at fault. I didn't mean to... is not a defense. @@billlyell8322 I think to address your major statement; in car accidents, most states actually have comparative liability law for shared-fault car accidents lol. Yes, you can be 95% at fault, 98%, etc.
@josehnegrete just because the law is corrupt, does not make it right. Slavery was 9nce the law too. It it was corrupt. The simple fact he knew he could disabled it. He did not do do. Had he disabled it, it would not have "caused" the accident. All of this was his words.
Thank you for the review. I understand that some may find the price reasonable, but considering the current market, I find it a bit steep for the features offered. For instance, products like the Meta Quest, priced around $500, provide a broader range of functional features that actually work reliably, which sets a higher standard for the price. While I appreciate the potential of these glasses, I believe the value doesn’t yet match the cost. Your insights were very helpful, and I do look forward to purchasing a pair once more refined features are available. The teleprompter, AI, and note functions are certainly appealing, but I think waiting for further development is a better choice. I understand the price may increase as the product improves, but I hope it aligns more with the added value in the future.
Excellent video. I agree with the fact that these glasses have a smaller field of view. I made a review on these as well and I mentioned that it was one of my biggest issues I had with them, especially when I first got them. As time has gone on, though, I've gotten used to it and it doesn't bug me anymore. Maybe the same will happen to you?
The visibility issue is definitely something I'm learning to live with more and more, yes. Starting to feel more comfortable driving with them, but I still have the occasional bug where the AI or Notes turns on even when they're on silent as I'm driving. And even more occasionally, it'll only turn on these features on one screen, creating vertigo. Give me a month or two and hopefully I'll give in to the loss of visibility lol
@@josehnegrete I mentioned it as a solution in the AMA. A possible solution to silent mode is to limit its deactivation to the app only, so no amount of accidental touching of the controls would affect silent mode.

The subscription model seems to be a dealbreaker for the translate pro on these glasses for a lot of people, including myself. You need the extra speed when communicating realtime.
After talking to other people who have the translation basic version, it doesn't seem like the difference in speed is super noticeable. However, I think the translation feature with Pro enabled is usable for realtime communication, but just barely due to speed. I couldn't imagine anything slower (or having to pay per hour LOL)
They need to make a square shape also. Maybe if the demand is high enough they will explore different shapes and designs. I would like to be able to customize what the glasses display based on the angle. Maybe just see a tiny date and time and have a unread notifications number show when at 0 degrees then at say 45 degrees i see the full dashboard with my notes. I got abit of a wishlist for features hopefully they get added. But from the reviews i have seen they are constantly working on the software and adding improvements.
They don't have a subscription. The presenter does a poor job of explaining the glasses. There are two ways to use the translation feature. The first option, which translates after each sentence, is free. The second option, which provides word-by-word translation, requires payment for a certain number of hours, but it operates a bit faster. Additionally, he shouldn't be driving with notifications on or while using the maps.
