Home shopping in Hua Hin, Thailand - What can you get for your USD?

  • Today, I take you with me as I view several properties for sale in the Hua Hin area. The properties range from just under $100,000 to the high $120's. I hope that this gives you an idea of what you can get for your USD. For me, location of the property was extremely important because I like to run and bike, so I wanted to be located near the bike path and Khao Thao Lake. I also didn't want to have a lot of work to do to the property. Which home do YOU think we bought? Enjoy!

    I prefer the house you are staying in. How do you go about building a house from scratch. I am rather funny when it comes to quality. I worked 15 years making Aluminium windows for residential and commercial. So I know what I would lov to have.

    All lovely homes in their own right Kimberley.
    I hope your bid on the last house is successful.
    Could you please document the process on farangs purchasing a villa/house?
    I've heard about the process of putting the property under your Thai partner or spouse's name, or registering as a Thai company ect, but have never actually seen anyone actually go through the process.
    People online mostly say to steer clear of purchasing landed property in Thailand and to purchase a condo if anything, but the appeal of owning my own home with a pool is more stronger than owning a condo.

      We did the land lease option 30 years with renew two more time (90 years total) with automatic land ownership if laws change in Thailand included in our contract. We have a great lawyer which is crucial to the process.

      Thats awesome I was thinking the same thing. How'd that go adding to the contract the land ownership option if / when the laws change? Guessing it would require an additional payment for the land? This is the route we want to take@@kimberleyssandbox

    • @kimberleyssandbox

      @christopherdillon8777 when you purchase, you pay up front for the lease which is like paying for the land already

    Good video Kimberley, Yes I would of went for the last one also and I hope you guys get it. I'm looking at beach front condos and the same ones have been for sale for years, I guess they don't care if they sell it or not as it's the same listing but a higher price even though it never sold at the lower price.

    • @kimberleyssandbox
      @kimberleyssandbox  Рік тому

      I've seen that as well. I think when you purchase here you have to understand that you will be lucky to sell it for what you paid for it. Many properties that I saw were in disrepair or neglected. Starting new was ideal for us. Thanks for watching!!!

      The homes in tropical Thailand is much cheaper then home in Hawaii which I've vacationed one or twice a year. Would love to buy one of those home (I've seen on other videos) as a vacation home but it must be under my name. I'm not interest getting hitch to a Thai woman to qualify buying a home there, LOL.... knowing the process, rules & regulations would greatly help me make the right decisions and not get ripped-off. That's the sad part of not being able as a foreigner to own land in your own name. Is a 30 year lease would be the best option to go with.
      Don't listen to others telling you about starting a corporation. That's filled with pitfalls and you can lose it all.

    • @diggingmystyle
      @diggingmystyle 6 місяців тому

      @orangeguy3314 based on every comment I've read regarding this topic, I'm just going to rent if I ever decide to move there. Most SE Asian countries are corrupt as heck.

      @@diggingmystyle At one time I was thinking about buying a home there on a 30 year lease. At $32,000us was my offer on it. They turned it down. I was only looking for a second home. Maybe in it for 4 to 6 month out of the year over there.
      I live in a small city in america called Las Vegas. It's got the best entertainment in the world. I paid $82,000us in 2016 for it. It's now worth $250,000us.

    It is too bad you weren't in a smaller market. Anyone buying up the dives that just work, and can be kept going, especially the smaller ones, like one bedrooms? I must be close enough to commune with the poor, and also with my God, as this must be a priority. I could always live in hostiles for bicyclists if they have those, with a bicycle containing all that I own, but it is best, and most realistic to first have a place to hang my hat. I hope you two do well. It looks like you and your husband are both very blessed; that is very good.

      @Mars2152 thank you... all my own original music I wrote! No thai business... we did 90 year lease option with contract clause stating if Thai laws change to foreigner can own land, we automatically get the land. You can buy any condo, home or villa... the land is the big issue. We chose the last home :)... there are no trails up there that I'm aware of but some nice farming access roads. 😀
