Home shopping in Hua Hin, Thailand - What can you get for your USD?

- Today, I take you with me as I view several properties for sale in the Hua Hin area. The properties range from just under $100,000 to the high $120's. I hope that this gives you an idea of what you can get for your USD. For me, location of the property was extremely important because I like to run and bike, so I wanted to be located near the bike path and Khao Thao Lake. I also didn't want to have a lot of work to do to the property. Which home do YOU think we bought? Enjoy!
Very nicely done.
Omg!!! Love ❤️ the last home!!! It would be perfect for you two!!! Let us viewers know if ya get it!! So excited for you guys!!
Thank you so much!!! Will share very soon!!!
Outstanding Tour and that view You can't beat with a stick. Purchase. I'm an exoat thinking of venturing out! TY for this...
You are so welcome!!! That's for joining us!!!
So funny!...I could tell this place was yours within the first 30 secs 🤠...What a bargain too!...Well chosen , You and Dave will never lose on this one. 👌Jason
Agreed!!! We are so happy with it!!! Not one regret!!!
great video we're considering the same thing and that last house is almost exactly what I'd be looking for!
It's perfect for us!!! We just wanted to keep it simple... small and manageable!!!
I love your new house! It reminds me of some of the houses in Palm Springs ❤
Thank you!!! I love yours!!! Such a wonderful feeling to be settled!!! I'm sure you feel that!!!
I prefer the house you are staying in. How do you go about building a house from scratch. I am rather funny when it comes to quality. I worked 15 years making Aluminium windows for residential and commercial. So I know what I would lov to have.
I have a friend who built her home here... key thing is to be very much involved in the process as workers are not as familiar with western standards...
IKEA furniture, see that regularly in thai home/condo videos.
Hi Kimberly, lately ive been thinking about buying a home similar to what you guys are looking at and then renting it long term until I'm able tomove there. Love your videos! Ive been to hua hin many times, i love the area.
It's a big decision, but certainly one Dave and I have not regretted one second!!! It's so nice to have our own home here. Let me know if I can help!!!
All lovely homes in their own right Kimberley.
I hope your bid on the last house is successful.
Could you please document the process on farangs purchasing a villa/house?
I've heard about the process of putting the property under your Thai partner or spouse's name, or registering as a Thai company ect, but have never actually seen anyone actually go through the process.
People online mostly say to steer clear of purchasing landed property in Thailand and to purchase a condo if anything, but the appeal of owning my own home with a pool is more stronger than owning a condo.
We did the land lease option 30 years with renew two more time (90 years total) with automatic land ownership if laws change in Thailand included in our contract. We have a great lawyer which is crucial to the process.
@@kimberleyssandboxcongratulations!
I will definitely get some legal advice on the matter. Looking forward to more of your videos when you move in. 🙏
@graham1958 yes!!! Will post soon!!! I'm having some computer issues... it's delaying my ability to do videos but yes! Please keep watching... I appreciate it!!!
Thats awesome I was thinking the same thing. How'd that go adding to the contract the land ownership option if / when the laws change? Guessing it would require an additional payment for the land? This is the route we want to take@@kimberleyssandbox
@christopherdillon8777 when you purchase, you pay up front for the lease which is like paying for the land already
All of them don't seem to look too bad at all . They are amazingly beautiful houses.
Will be posting an update video shortly :)
Good video Kimberley, Yes I would of went for the last one also and I hope you guys get it. I'm looking at beach front condos and the same ones have been for sale for years, I guess they don't care if they sell it or not as it's the same listing but a higher price even though it never sold at the lower price.
I've seen that as well. I think when you purchase here you have to understand that you will be lucky to sell it for what you paid for it. Many properties that I saw were in disrepair or neglected. Starting new was ideal for us. Thanks for watching!!!
The last house you said you liked and did you buy the house. Did you get the bargain place and if you did good for you and good luck to you and your family.😊
Yes! We are now owners :)
Very nice video Kim, i would definitely have gone for the first or second, but that's because i like the older houses and most of them are also build better with better materials gonna last longer and less maintenance in the long run, but hey every taste are different, so congratulations on your new fantastic house, my self live up in Hin Lek Fai
Maybe not the second, i cant remember now 😅
@@stefankropff haha!!!
Thank you so much!!! How long have you lived here?
Wow, so you guys decided to buy in Thailand! Now we can be neighbors! (same city) Our house is being built by Orchid Homes; should be ready next month. Hope to see you soon Kim 🙂
Excellent!!! We will surely meet!!!

Beside the 1500 baht/month maintenance fee... Are there other monthly/annual fees we should know about? Insurance fee? water/electricity/sewage fees? Can you register the house under your name?
@@jesselee2529 the house is in our name... I'm going to make a video on some of the other costs etc

The homes in tropical Thailand is much cheaper then home in Hawaii which I've vacationed one or twice a year. Would love to buy one of those home (I've seen on other videos) as a vacation home but it must be under my name. I'm not interest getting hitch to a Thai woman to qualify buying a home there, LOL.... knowing the process, rules & regulations would greatly help me make the right decisions and not get ripped-off. Any info or details you can supply is appreciated.
@jesselee2529 be sure to watch the video as it has some details of home purchase. I would suggest coming to Thailand, and shopping around... using a good lawyer and respected agent. It's too much for me to discuss in this forum, but understand it can be done and done the right way.
At 30:00 that mirror says it's 38 celsius, Wow that's hot. 🔥
Yip... it's toasty here... but worst month is April... been in Air-conditioned places most of this month!!!
Last house is the best
In hua hin is good investment. The open a new train station, and soon they'll expand the airport with more flights ✈️
What name of real estate company showed you around?
The last house is perfect for what i am looking for. I live in lattaya but coming to buy next week in hua hin
Check description in my video link below... it will give you info :)

The house was beautiful, but you are gorgeous❤
Thank you so much!!! Settling in now... will do decor soon and share once it's all done :)
Foreigners can buy properties in Thailand? I always heard it's not advisable to buy.
Please read the thread of comments... you will get more info on it... yes you can buy ... you must lease the land unless you buy a condo.
That's the sad part of not being able as a foreigner to own land in your own name. Is a 30 year lease would be the best option to go with.
Don't listen to others telling you about starting a corporation. That's filled with pitfalls and you can lose it all.
@orangeguy3314 based on every comment I've read regarding this topic, I'm just going to rent if I ever decide to move there. Most SE Asian countries are corrupt as heck.
@@diggingmystyle At one time I was thinking about buying a home there on a 30 year lease. At $32,000us was my offer on it. They turned it down. I was only looking for a second home. Maybe in it for 4 to 6 month out of the year over there.
I live in a small city in america called Las Vegas. It's got the best entertainment in the world. I paid $82,000us in 2016 for it. It's now worth $250,000us.
It is too bad you weren't in a smaller market. Anyone buying up the dives that just work, and can be kept going, especially the smaller ones, like one bedrooms? I must be close enough to commune with the poor, and also with my God, as this must be a priority. I could always live in hostiles for bicyclists if they have those, with a bicycle containing all that I own, but it is best, and most realistic to first have a place to hang my hat. I hope you two do well. It looks like you and your husband are both very blessed; that is very good.
Counting blessings every day!!! So thankful!!!
Hi, a quick question - did you just buy it cash?
Yes :)
Last one was beautiful! What’s the name of the community?
Khemanatra Development
@@kimberleyssandboxHow far from this house to the nearest beach?
GOOD LUCK MY WIFE AND I HAVE A CONDO IN Hua Hin, Thailand
Do you have an agent you can recommend? I need pet friendly pool villa. :) Beveryly- barks and bones is watching my fur babies
I wish I could give you may agents name... but she just left the company :(
Is there a hiking trail up that monkey looking hill? What reality did you use? Do you have a Thia business so you can buy it there?
PS love your music picks.
@Mars2152 thank you... all my own original music I wrote! No thai business... we did 90 year lease option with contract clause stating if Thai laws change to foreigner can own land, we automatically get the land. You can buy any condo, home or villa... the land is the big issue. We chose the last home :)... there are no trails up there that I'm aware of but some nice farming access roads. 😀
@avro9707 that is true... so essentially it's 90 years total... who owns a property that long anyway? 😆 We just want to potentially break even when we eventually sell... never looking at it as an investment...
@avro9707 we used Piti at Expatpro... excellent lawyer... English fluent and Thai... he wrote everything into the contracts. Thai can purchase, foreigners can purchase assume lease or draw up new lease or do company set up if they choose. All our bases covered. Highly recommend Khun Piti!!!
@@kimberleyssandbox is there a real estate company you found these at? A realtor contact?
Interesting video😍. Really want you to review our house in Huahin. Please give me your contact😊
Is your home on the market? What are your needs?
Looks my granny house 😂
Lol... too funny!!!
Thailand have Bath, NOT USD crap
@mijead00 it's baht, not bath...my viewers are mostly American so USD price is important for me to discuss on my channel
