Foreigners cannot own land in Thailand. Period.

I lived in Bangkok for three years. I rented a condo at that time. A little over a year ago I moved back to the USA. If I move back to Thailand I would probably move to Hua Hin. I visited Hua Hin twice. I preferred it over Bangkok. What you basically have to keep in mind. Is that non Thai citizens cannot own land. Here in the USA there are similar forms of ownership. I believe it’s referred as land lease. It’s up to the individual what type of purchase they are comfortable with. Or if they even decide to just rent. Your home is very nice. Don’t complain too much about your kitchen lol. At least you have an oven. Not many kitchens in Thailand do. I believe it’s referred to as a European type kitchen there.

My health provider told me that hua hin is an area that is at risk for malaria. What is the local sentiment?

You can get a window film that cuts down on the heat. I think it's worth looking into.

My husband and I are moving to Hua Hin in 2 months. We visited jomtien, pattaya and hua hin in March and April. Hua Hin was our favorite! We plan to rent first and then decide after a year to buy or continue to rent. Your video made some points for us to consider. 😊

The resorts looks so much like the one in Bali that I’ve always stayed at. The one is Vanuatu is also very similar but they really are all in the tropics and beautiful. Vanuatu is my favourite place on earth!

Hello Dave and Kim. That Rooster must have been going for a Cock fight. That bird was a Myna. If you can raise one from young. They are beautiful talkers, better than the parrots. When trained well. You would think. You are taking to a human being. Kim, I saw a video during the week of a New Resort in Hua Hin. The way it was constructed and finished was just superb. The guy that did that video was Jonny There is something happening., and the video was," The past has come to haunt me. Loving it in Thailand." Thank you. I agree with resale value and being mindful of what % of your net worth you should invest. With that said, as an American that has been living off and on in Thailand for over 30 years and that has owned five different properties over the years and has made profit, I don't think you got a good deal there, but I hope you're happy with your choice. Don't be surprised to see the roads there get badly damaged by heavy trucks as they continue to build in and around your home. As a tip from someone that has been successful here in Thailand, It's always better to buy a home in an established/finished project area as to determine building quality, maint/upkeep, neighbors, etc.
