May 2, 3, 5, 6. 1080p
17 of 22
In May of 2005 Cream returned to London's Royal Albert Hall-to the same stage where they had completed what was thought to be their final performance in 1968. It was one of the most eagerly anticipated, hard-to-get tickets in rock history. With the exception of a brief reunion set at their 1993 induction into the Rock and roll Hall of Fame, Cream had not played together in nearly four decades. This DVD documents Cream's momentous London shows. Performances from each of the four nights are featured and much more. Also included are alternate performances and interviews with Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce, and Eric Clapton. Cream formed in 1966 and disbanded in 1968. The band were a prolific and thrilling live act and toured incessantly in their short but remarkable history.
RIP the two members of Cream
Ginger Baker (August 19, 1939 - October 6, 2019), aged 80
Jack Bruce (May 14, 1943 - October 25, 2014), aged 71
You both will be remembered as legends.

A lucky guy who's voice isn't really good but just works perfectly.
It’s unreal how good Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker are on this track at this age. Absolutely phenomenal.

@@rossogden9920 . Jack had health problems for many years. Heroin addict for a large part of his life, he received a liver transplant in 2003. His body initially rejected it , but he overcame that and lived another 11 years. No doubt his singing suffered due to his weakened body.

I wish they were showing more of Jack during Clapton's solo. Eric has played similar solos a thousand times but that bassline by Jack Bruce is just out of this world.
Man, I love these lines:
"At the party, she was kindness in the hard crowd.
Consolation for the old wound, now forgotten
Yellow tigers, crouched in jungles in her dark eyes.
She's just dressing, goodbye windows, tired starlings.
I'll sleep in this place, with the lonely crowd.

Jack Bruce. Brilliant. None better.

øssur Johannesen Better in many respects but Jaco Bruce was not any kind of slouch. He wrote and played music that was very memorable. Minnesvard.
For those millenials out there. This is called music. Great music. These 3 gentlemen actually sing the music they have written and arranged and actually play musical instruments. Intsturments they picked up as children and honed their crafts. There are no synthesizers, electonic drum beats or fake bass pounding. These are musicians. It's rock and roll. It's based in blues....the best way to rock. It warms my heart dearly to see so many young people in the audience enjoying this great reunion concert, playing music written over 40 years ago. Rock and Roll will never die.
The lyrics were written by the poet Pete Brown (a friend of Jack Bruce’s) with the setting being an empty apartment and the theme being about depression and hopelessness. Brown’s first attempt at the lyrics resulted in a story about a ‘doomed hippie girl’ and had the title ‘Cinderella’s Last Goodnight’. Jack Bruce was not impressed so Brown showed him an eight-page poem he had written and Bruce used part of this for ‘White Room’. The ‘White Room’ was an actual room in an apartment that Pete Brown lived in. He said that he gave up alcohol and drugs while living there and saw the literal ‘White Room’ as a watershed for him. The lines… ‘The tired Starlings’ refers to the pollution in London that was killing them off. ‘Black roof country’ relates to the roofs where Dixon was living being covered in soot and ash from steam trains. ‘Goodbye windows’ describes people waving from train windows. extract from: REVEALED: THE HIDDEN MEANING BEHIND THE LYRICS OF 501 CLASSIC and POPULAR SONGS. R.I.P Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce 💔
Rip to jack Bruce and the days that Clapton used to use the sg
+Connor Burkhardt Super annoying. It's like Clapton deliberately avoided Gibson against the wishes of his fans. Same at his Blind Faith reunion with Steve Winwood at MSG. He didn't even use a telecaster ONCE. He's great on strat, but it lacks the individual personalities associated with Cream and Blind Faith. FOR THE FANS, ERIC!!! For the fucking fans.
+CooManTunes Couldn't agree with you more. This was the one chance for Clapton to really "pay homage" if you will to his 60's glory days and pick up a Gibson again. He's certainly not blind to the fact that his fans loved his playing style from his Cream & Blind Faith days and he really could've relented for these 3 reunion concerts and given the fans what they really wanted to hear. I get why they didn't use the Marshall stacks (something EC makes mention of in his autobiography) but he really should be playing a Gibson here. The only bright spot (for me anways) is seeing Eric shine in his guitar playing again. It's no secret EC hated the guitar hero grandstanding and has spent the rest of his career staying as far away from that as possible but here, for 3 glorious concerts we see a little bit of the old EC shine through again. It's Clapton and Clapton only on this stage playing the guitar and doing all the heavy lifting himself. Nowadays, hell for the past 30yrs, he always has a slew of other guitar players on stage with him backing him up and doing a lot of the work. It's bloody fantastic to see and hear Eric and Eric only on this stage grandstanding again for one brief moment. He's playing and singing his ass off during these reunion concerts and it shows and it's brilliant. It's just a shame he didn't take out the Gibson for one last big hurrah.
+CooManTunes HE HAS TO BE ERIC THE DIFFICULT. SOME THINGS NEVER CHANGE.
Just be thankful he's playing at the very least a black strat. It may not be the 'cream guitar', but it's certainly his most famous model, and even today he steers away from black strats.

No. We shouldn't be thankful for his deliberate stubbornness towards Gibson.

Clapton's guitar work on this tune is some of his best in years. Throughout the concerts of this reunion, it seems that he's playing with a new energy and intensity, and seems more inspired than the past 15 years or so. Hmm. . . . Maybe he felt the need for this reunion concert more deeply than at any other time, and figured that it might be a " final opportunity "? Thanx Jack, Ginger, and Eric; maybe ONCE MORE in another, even more "spiritual surrounding "?

Three member groups that produce full sound are rare. The Jimi Hendrix Experience had mighty power, and Cream were round that mark. While live performances give an insight into musical mastery, in the end, studio productions always rule. What could have been done, with orchestral backing, and full effects? I consider Cream's attack on this number, with absolutely no back up, brave, to say the least....
