Thank you for the information and demonstration. My hair is always dry. I’m graying and it gets more dry as it grays. 😢. I’ll be implementing this for my hair.

Hi! Checking back in. Looks like both sides look almost identical to me. They feel the same and look the same. No broken hairs on either side. What should I do? I was hoping I would see a big difference so I can go with one method.
Great video, Ms. Karen. I'm a long time LCO user. It's always worked for me; however, my hair has changed SO MUCH in this current stage of life so the results are not the same. I am looking forward to your new product line. Thanks for all that you do!!!
Hey Gorgeous! I am soooo relate! I am going to create a video soon where I really show my product free hair, and discuss how it has changed significantly since going gray and with hormonal changes. Just to encourage my community so that they know they are not alone -- like you! I get it! I hope you are doing well!
I’ve been watching a good amount of your videos, and they’ve been so informative and helpful. The natural hair growth journey can be a very isolating and helpless one, so thank you for being a light. Is it possible you can talk about how to dye hair with box dye, or dyeing hair? ❤❤❤
Hey there! THANK YOU SO MUCH! I will be your #1 cheerleader! I know its not easy, but a community of women learning, rocking and embracing their natural hair helps! Yes I can create a video for you -- you want to know how to box color to color your hair -- or the good, bad and ugly with color? I have color on my list of videos to do anyway so it's coming! Stay tuned!
I was way too excited watching this vid & Taneeka😄, I like oil but I find it causes friz and it does not absorb, I will def do this experiment on my wash day!
This was such a great video, Karen! So far, my hair seems to perform best with the LCO method. And today I'm celebrating my anniversary of my big chop!!! 😃😃😃🎂🎂🎂🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊 Some people like my natural hair, some don't, but I'm going to continue to do what I know is best for the health of my hair. I still read your book over and over! Thank you for being my biggest cheerleader throughout my journey. I can't wait to see what my hair will look like at this time next year too!
🎉💜🙌🏾. CONGRATULATIONS! I am so incredibly proud of you! I know it was a bit of a struggle but you pressed on in spite of negativity -- Here's a BIG hug! 🤗. Make sure you send me some pictures so I can 'see' your progress as well! Love you much 😘
I'm a LO(liquid/leave in conditioner and oil ) 😁 Unfortunately since postmenopause it's gets harder to retain moisture in my hair 😔. I'm trying to Grow Differently during this change of life 😊 Wanted to know if you have any thoughts on the Chebe powder or Chebe grease for maintaining moisture please and thanks 🙏🏾 💐😀💜🎉 You look FABULOUS with your head band and hairstyle Mrs Karen 🎉
❤ Hi Karen you are very easy to understand and informative. love your videos. What about when you use hair gel or hair mousse. How would you do the LCO or LOC method?
Hey there! Thank you so much! I tend to use the styling product (gel or mousse) at the very last step. You will still do the LCO or LOC method, but apply the styling product as the very last step. Hope this makes sense.
Hey there! Fabulous! So glad you are doing the weekend challenge! Once you figure out which side makes your hair feel best then you can move on to your styles tomorrow. I know you sent another message about styles. Tomorrow you do whatever style you want …. I have videos and wash n go. Let me know if want me to send you a video. But you can re-wet your hair; or saturate it fully to do curl definition. And let me know which side feels better! 💜🙌🏾
Hello Karen, Thank you for following up!!!! My L is a leave-in conditioner that has more water in it. I can literally shake it in the bottle. I plan to transfer that to my continuous spray mist bottle. The C was also a leave-in conditioner but is heavier and is cream based. I used an oil that has six types. Is the C option okay and is a oil blend also acceptable?Thankfully I am allowed to work from home on Mondays so I'll let you know the status after it has fully dried) before I move on to styling it. ❤️
My hair takes a while to dry so I checked Monday morning. LOC and LCO tied for great shine, no broken ends and softness. I retwisted again. Will check the moisture again this afternoon. I have to style it for the office tomorrow.
PERFECT! Thank you for giving me MORE information on the LOC/LCO method. My issue with my hair is absorbing moisture. I use the LOC method. It works GREAT with twists. When i do a wash-n-go, my ends have the "bunny tail" effect. The products just sit on my hair. It never absorbs it. Why is this happening? HELP😢
Good video again. Karen which method do you use? I know that you've mentioned that you now have high porosity, and you're not going by porosity in this video.
Hey Sunshine! I use the LCO in general (hint: The moisture cream that you have blends the cream/oil step together in one. Trying to cut back on all of these steps). 😜
@KarenofCurlHouse have not washed my hair yet using the products because I hid them from my daughter. Now, I have to find them. 😞 I know they're in in my room stored beside something. Will keep you informed.
Very informative video. One question thats especially unique to my hair but might apply to others. I have at least three different textures of hair. Will the technique I use work better on different textures? What will the variable mean for the experiment results? Thank you
Hi Karen, subbie here who loves your videos. After you've decided which method works best, do you wash the entire head again then apply deep conditioner rinse then apply the moisturizing method that worked on dry clean hair? Then after using moisturizing treatment that includes a leave in, follow up hair styling products like gel for my favorite- wash and go style ? I thought you had to literally douse my hair with water before applying the gel or my curls won't pop.or should i douse it with leave in conditioner first? Or curling cream for twistout or flat twists? I wash my hair every 6-8 days and try to mostly refresh and restyle as a means of moisturizing it. Is this a no-no? Should i just wear an afro. I sleep on satin pillowcase or wear a bonnet at bedtime. I work in an office. I'm trying not to overthink this. But i need help. Please help me to understand this process to retain moisture and maintain current or adopt a new hairstyle? I will take the challenge next weekend to see what works. Please respond soon. Thank you!!!!❤❤❤
You said you're trying to not overthink this, WHILE overthinking lol. I hope she answers your quickfire gazillion and 1 questions to put you @ ease chal, cause it sounds like your hair anxiety is on 100, sheesh! Just teasing. 😂 No but seriously this natural hair thing IS a task to master and guidance helps so I get it. Your questions might be a good Q&A video because their valid. 😘
So you are confusing hair care with styling. What Karen is describing is how to keep moisture in your hair on a daily basis. Unfortunately a lot of styling products and hair styles do not help the hair to retain moisture. My hair retains the most moisture in flat twists with only a leave in mist and a leave in cream conditioner which I apply daily. My hair dries out the fastest in an afro or a wash and go so i only wear those 20% of the year. You only need to shampoo and deep condition kinky-curly-coily hair once a week. Now if you want to wear a different style every day of the week, that's up to you but it might not help your hair retain moisture. Also if you want to use a curl creme or gel, it's your choice but it might have a drying and/or build up effect on your hair. Everyone's hair and scalp is different and you can only experiment to find out what works best for you.
Hey there! Yes -- you still use your styling products -- the styling product goes on last whichever one you decide to use. I will create a follow up video to post on next Saturday to explain this and answer you questions.
Excellent video .. thank you! 🙏🏾 I use Mielle Organics Pomegranate & Honey Leave in conditioner, would this product be categorized as a leave in or cream ? The reason I ask is because the consistency of it is like a milk and since it’s a thicker consistency should I still consider using a cream? Also, I have your follicle stimulating growth drops can this be used as my oil ? My hair is low porosity. Thank you Karen .. keep up the great content ! God Bless you . 🙏🏾👍🏾💝✝️
Hey there! That's a great question. It will probably be considered a cream because of its consistency. So technically the "L" is considered liquid (or water), so it can lighter weight or more 'watery' spray. Also, the growth drops are water based, and should be used on the scalp as opposed to hair. Thank you so much for the encouragement. I really appreciate it and your viewership! 🙌🏾
@@KarenofCurlHouse thank you for the quick response! 💝 I am going to experiment with jojoba oil using LCO and LOC to see which method works best for my hair. My wash day is weekly on Fridays and I workout 4-5 times a week, by Wednesday my hair is starting to look and feel dry. I’m a wash n go gal, any suggestions on a good refresher / moisturizer spray ? Will that be a product you will be offering in July ? Thanks again 🙏🏾
Hey there! I sprayed the leave in conditioner first -- the same one I used for the LOC; it may have be partly covered by the graphic, but it was there. 😘
