UPDATE: Since making this video, I've become quite anti-'blue zone' as I think the evidence is not good enough to suggest anything significant. It doesn't mean I don't like nad+ (I still use it and my patients do too - I think it can be brilliant for people). I'm also anti-David Sinclair since more information about his activites has come to light. Also, I have no interest in whether you buy this or not as I have no financial incentive with the product as some seem to think (eventhough this is stated in the video). The video is simply intended to show you something you may find interesting.

One thing ive notuced is, at 56 I look a good few years younger than a lot of people my age that I've known since childhood. Most of them have saggy skin, are overweight, bald, have bad teeth and look like they're in their late 60's or even 70's!
I don't drink alcohol and do regular weight training. Even though I have health issues myself, my skin is very tight and I have a good head of hair which isn't all grey yet😊. Most of these people I refer to are drinkers, smokers/vapers and have never exercised. I do believe weight training is very beneficial, especially as we age. Not too much and not crazy lifting but enough to stress the muscles regularly. It starts to show benefits later on in life when you've trained from a young age. Even though I have the regular sort of aches and pains in the joints due to natural aging process, I am finding the benefits of all the years of strength exercising is helping me. I recommend it and will continue to do it for as long as I can.
My wife swears that I'd be lifting a dumbbell from my death bed. 😂

    • @joel6427
      @joel6427 3 місяці тому +7

A good head of hair has nothing to do with health, as evidenced by your revealing that you have health issues. I am 76, bald, and don't have any health issues. Doctors can't find a reason to write a prescription for me. You might want to learn about metabolic health instead of thinking weight lifting is the answer. Like you, I lift weights, but if you don't get to the source of your health issues at 56, you won't be doing much of anything 20 years from now.

Dr.ABS, good video. But, prior to all these what I believe in my research is fixing the gut. As, it is very important for nutrients absorption not only to the gut. For example Taurine absorption into the cell. As, gut mind connectivity play vital role. I could see from data most people with poor gut feel less confident, more stressed. Resulting in damage of cells and naturally aging.

I learned that now I have done almost everything wrong ore just good, so I do whatever I want and like too do. Most people wanted to get old but they don’t want to be old, but it’s going hand in hand so you have the one you also have the other. It's a risk/reward cost/benefit thing. Look up Bryan Johnson here on UA-cam for the other side of the coin. We are in the first time in history where if you survive long enough for the tech to develop, you may not have to die from aging and its associated ills. His goal is to reverse as much aging and slow it down as much as he can so he makes it to that point. You will still die from something eventually but you won't have a biological time limit as to how long you can live.
If Bryan is right then people going with the usual outlook of living hard and dying when it catches up to them are giving up a hell of a lot more than they're aware of. Imagine having like 10 full lifetimes of amazing experiences until you get killed by some natural event or accident. That's certainly worth giving up a bunch of low quality junk food, overwork, being sedentary, and late nights for.

It appears like that but its usually some underlying issue that's not being addressed. One can look healthy but have something happening in their body that is deadly. Optimizing your chances by eating clean whole foods and exercise and taking supplements that are in low amount in most foods is key to minimizing the chances of these unknown variables.

Sound like hgh. Hgh works pretty much the same way. When taken correctly. Injected into the belly fat. Hgh can make a person younger beyond there years. Heal joints, muscle repair, hair growth, smooth skin, energy, good sleep, better sex life, better digestive system. Look at Stallone, what is he almost 80s old, look at allot of these actors that take it, that are in there 60s and 70s, but this NAD thing, I am really interested in learning more about it. Especially in this world we live in today. Everything we eat is garbage. Yes it is, you buy at a grocery store, it is garbage, I do not care if it is vegetables ,fish meat, fruit. You have to catch it and kill it yourself , or grow all your food in mass produced. Shelf life. We need to take some kind of supplement that will help our bodies stay young and strong. I think this NAD thing, might be a really good thing. I'm not a doctor, but I have been experiencing these kind products. Really interested in learning more about this NAD. I am 56 years old, and I like being young. I like to be able to use my body. I do not want to live forever, I want to die young at an old age. I do not want someone wiping my ass, and changing my diapers daily and walking me to the bathroom.

I do feel that if you're healthy you can enjoy your life a lot. I would say if NAD gets you that get you that affect so be it. The truth is that God determines how long you live, and it is written in the Bible that we have to honor God with our bodies. So why not live with dignity, an honor God by using are healthy bodies to serve him? I'm not preaching here but let's say if you are healthy you can do some of the things that you missed out on in your Advanced years

You know who really wrote the Bible right? Man. It didn't fall from the sky from God. But if you really look into things the Bible just doesn't make sense. If you look at the timeline man was around so long before the Bible came to be. All the Bible does is keep society functioning without chaos. The thing that upsets me is how much info they suppress because it contradicts what this Bible says.

Western society is heavily influencing an unhealthy diet for its people. I think supplementation is needed for most Americans for that reason alone living past the preindustrial revolution era. Processed foods, Heavy Blue light consumption, Hormonal manipulations, so many things are straying us from our normal functioning bodies as they were intended to be.

Some people who exercise may unfortunately experience death during the process. I recall instances of elite athletes collapsing and being declared dead on arrival during tournaments, often due to underlying health issues. However, when exercises are performed properly to promote good health and with moderation, the risk of death is very low. Those who have died often had undiagnosed health problems that contributed to the tragedy. It's important to approach exercise in a safe and gradual manner, especially if one has underlying health issues that could make physical activity risky. While there are various factors to consider, individuals who are generally healthy should not fear exercise but rather embrace it as a way to live independently and with dignity.

      You are welcome!
Try 1 gram NMN dissolved into a small amount of water, daily. I buy Renue By Science brand because they batch test and the price is good on the 3 month supply of powder (cheaper than capsules, and they always have coupons listed on their coupon page… if you can’t find it just google it- for the coupon ). There’s other brands that test and post batch testing though. Don’t buy from places that don’t publish batch tests.
I later bumped up to 1.5 grams per day. The difference I feel (even at the 1 gram level) is astounding, like I am 35 again (I am 61). Energy for days and no aches and fast healing.
I first tested it on my 10 year old dog who arthritis- limped on a leg broken in puppyhood. After a month the limp hardly showed Then after 2-3 months it was completely gone.
So next I tried it on my other old dog going blind and running into everything. Her vision improved markedly, and her happiness returned so much that my kids noticed.
After that I decided this stuff is the real deal and I began supplementing. It’s been a bit more than a year now and I will never stop!!
I have since added GlyNAC and CoQ10. And a couple other things. And of course I eat right. Have not felt so good in decades!
Of all my supplements the one I won’t ever stop is NMN.
Side note: some also use NR dividing the dose as another option. It supposedly works a bit differently in the MAD cycle. I haven’t tried it. I feel too good to change. Perhaps one day I’ll add it to see difference. I always add only one thing for 3-4 months to see the effect of only the one new item. These things are too expensive to take without knowing it’s helping.
Last note: if your NAD levels are still high you will think it’s not working (because you don’t need it yet). Levels must be dropping to notice a difference with NAD boosting supplements.
      Good luck.

    • @KatSchlitz
      @KatSchlitz 3 місяці тому

@@septemberswisper You are welcome! I actually wrote a longer reply that had further suggestions, and for some reason it did not post through, so I will try again:
One quick note about NMN: if people have high NAD levels as in youth (even if they are over 40 or 50 or even over 60) they will not feel any effects of taking NMN, it will feel a waste of money to them. Good for them for having youthful NAD levels! But for us others NMN is a god-send.
I started with 1 gram of NMN powder because that was the least investment. But before I tried it, I gave it to my dogs to see if it would help them:
First, one dog had a lame leg, a severely arthritic leg that was broken when she was 4 weeks old as a puppy. And then about 4 years ago she started limping on that leg, and it had gotten bad, where she was basically housebound after noon each day. She's a Vizsla so activity is all she is, it was terrible. So I began by giving her 500mg of NMN powder a day. After about 30 days she would not be limping until 4-5 pm, and then after 3 months her limp was GONE! I mean it has been over a year now and her limp has been completely gone since after that first 3 months.....
At this point I was thinking of my sore shoulder that would not fully heal.... but I decided to see if I could help my other dog while I further watched the effects on the first dog too....
My second dog was old and going blind. She was running into walls and falling down stairs, and she was getting very cranky. It was bad too!
So I began giving her also 500 mg (they are about the same weight, 50 pounds).. each day. And every month her vision has improved. She is happy again now and no longer nearly sightless, and her cloudy eyes have cleared a huge amount, perhaps 80%. She is so happy!!
Ok, two dogs healed and I decided to try it. As I mentioned I began with 1 gram a day, powder dissolved in water. Immediately I needed 9 hours of sleep a night! After about 30 days I noticed I felt more energetic, my sore shoulder getting better. After 3 months I noticed I was starting to feel like years or decades past, all aches gone, no signs of age!!. But could I speed my internal age regression, the youthifying healing effects?
I decided to bump up to levels that some speak of, and that would be about the same dose by weight as I was giving my dogs:
I then bumped it to 1500 mg / 1.5 grams a day. I have not looked back.
I feel like I am in my 30's again. I have no feeling of being 61. I have energy to mow acres of hills where I live. It is phenomenal. This is the one supplement I will not ever stop.
I have added a few more things, but only one at a time and testing for a few months to see if it really makes a difference. I have added GlyNAC (Glycine and NAC), partially because of my family's history of lung issues. I have been sailing through cold and flu season without bronchitis anymore.
I have added CoQ10, for a few reasons, partially to help with senescence -- the dead cells that litter our bodies and clog everything without the trash being eliminated -- and CoQ10 helps take out the trash so to speak, in addition to other things.
And then I take CaPyr and Niacinamide for my eyesight, but I think that NMN is doing as much or more. (I was born with weird eye challenges and am grateful for vision)>
And I have added lots of veggies, sprouts, mushroom tea, whole leaf sencha,...
I also take Epicor to avoid colds and flu bugs (it is a probiotic that is an immune system manager for over-reactive immune response -- basically every tiny cold bug can make me quite sick a long while, but no longer thankfully!).
Next I am trialing Trigonelline to keep muscle mass (in addition to weight lifting for muscle and bone mass)....
If I had to rank everything for my system, it would be:
      1. NMN
      2. Epicor
      3. NAC for lungs (because of genetics)
and then the others. But the above are what I will not give up.
For NMN go with a company that publishes batch tests, if you try it. I use Renue By Science because of batch testing and good pricing, currently. They have coupons all the time, they have a page that lists a coupon every month. Their powder versions lasts a long while, months depending on dose levels. That is the best price I've found from a trustworthy source.
There are others like DoNotAge and more, that publish tests. And there is tons of peer reviewed research on google scholar and pubmed. Perhaps injections are faster, but I am not doing that when this is available.
      Keep us updated -
      Good luck!

    • @Aaron.Drake.Ames.
      @Aaron.Drake.Ames. Місяць тому

Until recently, it was commonly believed that NAD cannot pass through the cellular or organelle membranes in mammalian brain cells. However, several reports have indicated that extracellularly administered NAD can restore the intracellular NAD stores in both astrocytes and neurons [73,74,75]. The intracellular increase in NAD pools after extracellularly applied NAD was prevented by a purinergic receptor P2X7 inhibitor, suggesting that NAD was able to enter the cells via P2X7-gated channels [74]. It has also been reported that connexin 43 channels located in the plasma membrane can allow NAD to enter the intracellular compartment [76]. However, another possibility is that the exogenous NAD is degraded by ectonucleotidases and the generated metabolic intermediates are taken up into the cytosol via P2X7-gated pores

If this is really as amazing as you say, why does John look so decrepit, and why does he keep wringing his hands? He says he treated to athletes several years ago and in only 5 days they were full of energy. He's been on it for years and doesn't appear to be any better off for it, unless he is actually over 100 years old. This is just another poor attempt to influence people to buy your brand instead of someone else's. Why don't you do a double blind study using your brand against several other popular brands and prove your brand is better, instead of just spouting your version of the truth without any scientific proof?

@@SuperDflower Since I'm doing the math for myself as well, I'll share my homework with you: Looking at other comments in here, I see that the £350 vials last for five weeks.
If you 'subscribe and save', you save 25%, which brings that to about £262 per five weeks.
There are roughly 52 weeks in a year, so you'd go through about ten and a half vials per year.
Take that £262 times ten and a half, then round up because I'm lazy, and it comes to about £2,800 per year.
But if John Gillen himself is anything to go by, you'll still have to be mindful of balding and having a gross tubby belly, so also consider taking 0.5mg of Dutasteride every third day for the hair, and committing to either a carnivore keto diet like Abs and me, or seeing whether you can pull off Bryan Johnson's vegan Blueprint diet.

It's a peptide from cobra venom and helps the brain modulation of signals loop. Avinihealth is the company plus relief get the oral version and do the loading dose protocol
