Great advice. I would add, The conversation is different for “old money” and “new money”, and White money vs. Black money. And yes, the super rich, most, not all, don’t walk around with handbags with signatures and insignias on them. I work for two millionaires of a so called prestigious law firm in DC. Old money wealth and older. Very different mindset regarding money and “value” and spending habits. They don’t spend extreme amounts of money on clothes and watches. Not even fancy cars. One nice car, two pre owned. The “ stuff” is not important to them. Travel, real estate and freedom is what they spend money on, for the most part. Just do what you do, that you can really afford, for you, not to be self actualized by others.

What Tony said about new vs. used cars is so true. I do listen to Dave Ramsey, but having bought a used lemon in the past that cost just as much in repairs and breakdowns as the car cost, I refused to buy used again. My next one was brand new, which was not financially great, but the peace of mind was, and I paid it off without issues. That new car also had side airbags that protected me in a serious accident. Without them, I'm not sure if I would have walked away with only minor injuries. The car after that was certified pre-owned with less than 15K miles on it, which has also been a good value. Frugality is not worth your peace of mind or safety, especially for women who often won't know how to diagnose or fix issues with the car. Just make sure you can really afford what you buy.

woah, I can relate SO MUCH to this woman's story about her looks. Even though, I am sure I am not as beautiful as the woman of the email is, I am in the same boat. I do things by myself, of which my peers would never dare to do alone, I live my life, but sometimes reality hits and I be slightly sad I am still single (but no desperation) and have no one by my side. I am OK being with myself but I love to be around a romantic best friend. I will do my best to look better than I am now, even though I do take care of myself. Maybe I should push it a bit more?

Society is sad when it comes to the standards of looks. A woman is not considered light or pretty enough with a huge backside will be dismissed and rarely sought after! I am the woman you’re describing that black men like and though it’s true that men may find me attractive, in my 30’s, I’m considered lighter skin w backside, but men are not interested in dating me, I have male friends and exes that still want to stay in touch, but not dating for a relationship. So, we are all in the same boat, and I don’t rely on my “looks” to get a man. I dress modestly and not provocative, and these days men are all into a womens esthetic and physical appearance.
