I'm glad I'd already lost interest in the Monument Mythos before this. It's just absolutely absurdist nonsense now, and that's saying something compared to the previous season.
The thing with those restorations in The House in the Ocean was that Alex would take down the original and post to the "restored version", making it so people had different recollections and memories of the events.
Analog horror is just fascinating to me. It is terrifying and intriguing. No matter how I almost shit myself, it never fails to bring me back for more. I am glad I was introduced to this genre, wish it was sooner. Keep up the good content 4!
As someone who has been a horror movie/game fanatic since I was young, I've become conditioned to it to a certain degree. I thankfully stumbled upon the analog genre with the walten files and boisvert. This is the only horror that absolutely gives me a complete unsettling feeling. It is such a great genre for what it is, being made from old videos and pics. It's brilliant when made right. Really digging the videos. Thanks.
I really appreciate the warnings when a jump scare/loud noise is coming. My cat is sat on my knee and the noise at 11:28 would have caused me to launch her into orbit with the stream of fear piss that would have come out of me
It’s divisive. The main problem was it was too short and felt rushed imo. Also cuthunoight A didn’t evoke the same feelings as other simple beings like Nixon did. Although, MUSKMARS and the Martian serpent was incredible, and the final with Everett was beautiful, so I have mixed feelings.

Monument Mythos nearly lost me after the Deanverse ending; the whole "so dude became a fucking god and broke apart the Earth, ending reality" was just TOO MUCH for my suspension of disbelief. It's the kind of thing a child would write. I got as far as the house in the ocean before losing interest, and god damn I'm glad I did, because this video is showing me that every single video in the series after just got worse and more absurd.
Watching this without any context of the Mythos, is like watching tv while being high as hell, the mere fact of listening: "Some of you told me that the serpent with the skull might be George Washington"

this one really doesn't resonate with me. some level of reality has to be included for me to get interested, and especially to be affected by. it is well-done, however. certainly, um....imaginative.
They really ruined the Monument Mythos. The ending of the Deanverse already stretched my suspension of disbelief, but it spilling over into the Nixonverse is what caused me to eventually jump ship. It just got TOO weird; and people praising it for being clever are, I'm sad to say, intellectual children. There is MUCH less thought going into the episodes now than when Cornerfolk and the first few MM videos were uploaded; it's just "what zany shit can I write to constantly make the next video more "intriguing" than the last".
