edition(s) - plural, he made more than one Paganini piece more difficult

Pretty much! I would actually say that the only exception is Kreisler, who made I Palpiti harder than Paganini's original composition of the piece, but Roman Kim is in a league of his own. This rendition is much, MUCH harder than Kreisler (with maybe the exception of Kreisler's octaves passage at the very end)

3:46 6:36 7:33 WHAT THE HELL??? That sounded like a flute or maybe a wooden recorder! Incredible! Just like Paganini's notations on other works, "imitando il flauto"... It's one of the most beautiful sounds I've ever heard a violin produce. You're his heir, I'm more and more convinced...

@@ORCINUS I don’t understand what’s “forced” about them, there’s tons of pieces that use harmonics like that. He didn’t invent harmonics, he just seems to be using them at a much higher level than most other pieces have, and than other violinists are capable of.
He’s insanely good and is definitely doing new things with them, but it’s not a technique that’s never been done before.

Probably would have grinned and told you to stand still, then stood up and tried out some of the new techniques you have invented. Probably he would have mastered most of them - even the forced harmonics, after some practice - but not the triple octaves, I think. Yours is incandescently brilliant playing and huge fun to watch. Man alive those double stop harmonics, I just can't follow even though I have played violin for years. Then he rips off incredible fast notes and ornaments perfectly in tune like they are nothing. So many hours of practice required to make this look easy.

It must be the glasses who give him special vibrations to play so great.

I dont think any non string player can actually realise how incredibly impressive this is, even though not a beautiful piece it is the most unattainably hard etude ever made

Gawd dayum, this guy is good. Flawless technique. Impeccable interpretation of the music. I can't find a better rendition of this song anywhere on UA-cam. Everyone else plays it like they're still learning it, with awkward phraseings. Roman makes them look like amateurs. His harmonics are clear and superb. Love watching Roman play. When are you going on tour, Roman?! I'll come in a minute to watch you play!
