    I've found patients with a lot of tone in their hand having a hard time keeping the fingers extended during weight bearing activities but with the SaeboStretch on it's worked great! We just unstrap the forearm & wrist straps, keeping only the hand/finger straps in place, then resting the hand at the edge of a table so the thumb can rest off comfortably. Thanks for the stretching video! Great education!

      The biggest hurdle to recovery sounds like its going to be stretching your hand and getting a daily stretching routine. If these stretches are not right for you, at this time, we recommend you talk to a therapist for more guidance. As for Saebo products in China, please contact you local representative for more help. Is there a brace that will help straighten my fingers out??

    • @SaeboInc
      @SaeboInc  3 роки тому

      Hi Kenny, the SaeboStretch is a novel splint uses a revolutionary stretch technology, which allows the fingers to move through flexion caused by associated reactions and increased tone. Following relaxation, the fingers gradually return to the desired resting position. Learn more about the SaeboStretch here, www.saebo.com/shop/saebostretch/

    Question :- will i gain strength to my arms will spasticity go away ido physical exercise with weight cuff now its recoveing from it

    • @SaeboInc
      @SaeboInc  3 роки тому +1

      Spasticity is a typical part of neurological, and especially of, stroke recovery. As you use your arm and hand your spasticity level will vary, which is why it's important to work with a professional who can guide you and change your routine as your spasticity changes. Ultimately, you want to work on control of the correct muscles and the ability to turn them on and turn them off at will. This is the amazing factor that comes from using our SaeboFlex, SaeboReach, SaeboGlove, and SaeboMAS/mini products. They all work on spasticity in a different way, helping you gain control of your muscles and lowering your spasticity/tone. - Dr Scott, OTD

    What if there’s no movement on the arm...? What can be done to start to get movement?.

    • @SaeboInc
      @SaeboInc  3 роки тому +1

      Milton, right off the bat, I'd say NMES e-stim, SES e-stim and our SaeboMAS mini. NMES will contract the muscles and help with nerve conduction/volitional training; you can get this from our SaeboStim Pro and SaeboStim One. SES will help with all things sensory and cortical priming and rewiring, which you can get from our SaeboStim Micro, and one 30-minute program on the SaeboStim Pro. As for our SaeboMAS mini, it supports your arm, which decreases spasticity in the entire arm, and also allows you to move with minimal effort. So, you might be able to move your arm, but your muscles are so weak, the weight of your arm is holding you back.
      I hope that helps! - Dr. Scott

      Well, frustration is definitely a common reaction to this, but if you look at the brain, the largest part of your motor cortex is taken up by the hand. The hand is the hardest thing to get control of because it's how we engage with our world and uses so much brain power to control it. It uses the same amount, if not more, as your entire leg and foot require. Keep working hard. Keep telling yourself you can do it. From a clinical standpoint, adding in electrical stimulation usually boosts your recovery time, so definitely look into this as well. Our SaeboStim Pro (www.saebo.com/shop/saebostim-pro/ ) might be the right product for your recovery. - Dr Scott

    • @SaeboInc
      @SaeboInc  3 роки тому

      In this video I spend a good amount of time explaining how to get the thumb out and how to stretch it. I included the time stamps in the description, so please review this and attempt to follow the instructions. You may have limited flexibility in your thumb so your results may be different than those I show on camera. Follow the instructions of opening the hand, isolating the thumb, and stretching for at least 2x/day until the muscles relax, should give you some results to build upon. Keep up the consistent work and you're guaranteed to succeed. - Dr. Scott, OTD

      There's no rule of thumb for this one...it's different for everyone. But I can say that it depends on what your life is like, how much effort you put into the recovery, your support group, your attitude, and where you are starting from. I always tell my clients one thing, "If you see movement, you can improve!"
