- So I've started an intermittent fasting, keto, carnivore lifestyle. In 3 1/2 weeks I lost 7 inches off my waste and dropped my blood pressure medication! Here's what I'm currently eating.
Beef, it's what's for dinner! :)
Lol I bet you want to come over now!!
Thank you Anne for starting another channel pertaining to your health. We are wishing you continued success in navigating your journey to a healthier you. Take care and stay cool from Arizona 🌵
Thanks Elisabeth!!! I so appreciate it!
I'm here for it Anne!!😊
Thank you Misty!
I love Dr. Sten! You're right, he really explains things in a way to understand well. I think I've been doing the same research as you! All these things your talking about are so similar to what I've been doing. I think more people are waking up to this new way of eating because it WORKS!! Thank you for sharing!
Wonderful! Thanks for sharing Meg - yes more and more people are waking up to this and this will save our lives!!
I can't tell you how happy I am you started this channel. I started my journey about the same time you did. Over the last 3 years I had to have several surgeries on my jaw. The foods I could eat made me so fat and tired, except for eggs, they were all soft foods high in carbs. Someone told me about Pao d'Arco to regulate sugar levels and help fight potential candida. I guess most people who have been on a high carb dies have it and don't realize it. I've ordered the supplements you just recommended as I too had my gallbladder out and have experienced recent hair loss at an alarming rate. I want my health back. Thank you so much for sharing your life with us. You are such an inspiration. 💖🥩🧈
You got this - my mom has seen amazing results from the WEEM. Her hairdresser is still shocked. She was going to get a wig that month. I hope they work as well for you as they worked for her! Yes, I've explored candida in my body too! I think or I believe or maybe I just hope that when we get our blood sugars under control and our insulin isn't dominating our guts, maybe the candida will shrink back.
Thanks for all the info Anne!
As I told you, I was eating better, working out and fasting 16/8. I got on the scale and gained 2 lbs!
I added up my carbs and too many in protein smoothies. So, I need to get the momentum back and I'm going to try again. Seeing 2 lb gain just broke my heart 😢 I'm having trouble getting back into it but I will.
Thanks again!
You totally will - those protein smoothies are too full of those carbs unfortunately! They were my staple for years and I enjoyed them so much!
Hi Anne, so wonderful to hear your carnivore journey, I'm sure you have researched and already know about oxalate dumping. I had sand in my eyes for months. Also once you are fully on the 'Lion' try to eat the yolks and not whites. Along with the 'brain changes' the most amazing part of my journey was 'the clothes' so much fun being able to wear what was 'always' too small!
Yes I have lol. I have been experiencing it in a big way - crystals coming right out of my eyes and I have LOTS of oxalates - I was going to do a video on that too. I can't wait to be able to wear those small clothes again!! I almost forgot how good it feels!
Thank you for starting this new channel. You've given me incentive to get back on the fasting / Keto wagon. I had great success with it a couple of years ago, but got 'de-railed' by making everyone else in my family a priority. It's my turn now👍😊
That is awesome! Yes it's YOUR turn now!!! I actually made a video on that for tomorrow!!
Thanks so much Anne for all of this very helpful information. I appreciate it so much, Debbie
You're welcome Debbie!
I’m excited for your new channel Anne. I’m very heavy and am looking forward to going on this health journey with you:)❤️
I'm so glad you're here Kathleen!!!
@@anneclayseekinghealth ❤️Thank you Anne:)
❤ Great job Anne!! Stay strong! The health and physical benefits of eating this way are 😊 soooo great!
Thank you Elizabeth!!!
After 9 months, I'm off all medications!! 😂 I started Keto last September, and in October my husband and I went to the cider mill as we do yearly, and this was my first real test to stay on or fall off the Keto way of eating. Fall is my favorite time of the year with all the comfort foods ...I said No to donuts and cider! This was the turning point that got my husbands attention that I was very serious and committed, and I proved to myself that I had will power. Ii said Yes to me! . It's a daily choice that turns into a lifestyle. When you're lossing weight and feeling great then it makes it easier to say NO to foods full of carbs and sugar! Try it for 6-8 week, and see if you're not feeling amazing.
😊
So many of our traditions and holidays are centered around food.
I had to adjust my thinking that picking healthy foods will make my life better! I can still have a wonderful holiday and enjoy family and decorating without the sugar foods! I can have steak!! ❤
You can do it Anne!!! You’re going to feel amazing ❤
Thank you Laurie!!
Added new channel. 👍🏻
Thank you Laurie!
Thanks Anne ! This channel is so great! Keep up the good work!
Thank you Cindy!!
Hello Anne! A super fan😉
Thank you! 🤗
HI ANN I HAD WEIGHT ISSUES MY WHOLE LIFE BUT NOW I AM IN MY FIFTIES ITS REALLY STARTING TO CAUSE TROUBLE SO I AM READY FOR A LIFE CHANGE ☺️
Hi Loretta - I get it! We'd be rich if money came to us as easy as the pounds! You can do this!! We can get away with some things when we're young but as we age, our body starts to rebel.
Hi Anne. Looking forward to going on this health journey with you. I am familiar with Dr. Sten Eckberg. Have done Keto in the past and have to get on the program again. Carnivore did not work for me as it was too restrictive. Fibromyalgia and interstitial cystitis is taking everything out of me.
I'm so sorry about all those issues you're experiencing - it's a really tough road and I'm sure that there no one size fits all on all these health journeys. I'm not minding the restrictive nature because I can be a really boring eater. It's kind of a chore for me so I'm really happy when I don't have to make a big decision. You got this - you can work toward good health too with the rest of us!
Keep up the good work Ann !!
Thank you Dawn!
So GOOD!! Thank you...
Thank you too! I appreciate it!!
If it wouldn't be too much trouble, could you talk in more detail about your supplements. I wondered what brand, the dosages, etc. Also I was interested in where you bought them. Didn't know if they were from Amazon
I love your new channel.
Thank you Karen - I'll do that.
Does that extra sodium affect your blood pressure? On BP meds here. Also, did you stop your medications (BP, Cholesterol, etc), and if so at what point?
No - the sodium didn't make my BP rise. I noticed on day 3 that my diastolic BP was down. I called the doctor and told them it was 116/64 - they said perfect. I told them I was intermittent fasting and I believed it was going to go down more. They ignored that and said "keep taking your meds!". I asked them how low is TOO low. They said diastolic under 60 is too low. Then the nurse told me not to take it my BP reading more than once a day which I didn't agree with since I'm making changes in my health so of course, I ignored that. The next day I took my meds like they told me too but I was a bit reluctant. She asked me if I was tired and I said "exhausted" and she said "aren't we all". Now I couldn't even pick my arm up off my body! So I took my BP reading and it was 87/53!! Dangerously low!!! I did everything that day to try to get it back up - to no avail and I was freaked out! The next day I cut the dose in half. After about 3 weeks I decided to stop and see if it would stay down without any medication. It used to be 179/100 if I didn't medicate. It was 128/64 so I knew that it was coming down. I took myself off the BP meds but I check it religiously every day a few times just to make sure it's not too high. It hasn't been. I have the medication if I needed to go back on it but it seems to have settled itself in the 120/74 range for the most part.
@@anneclayseekinghealth wow 🙀 I’d have been a tad nervous self-adjusting my meds, but your numbers sound really good now! I never could understand why my BP went from the 120s to the 170s in less than a year, but here I am taking BP meds twice a day now. Ughhhh. Docs blame it on my age (in my 60s). 😾 I’m gonna make some changes…
Thank you, Dear Anne!
What are good fats to eat?
You look so great!
Thank you Shari - I'll make a video on that!!! For short - butter, ghee, animal fats. I sometimes think of fatty cheeses in that list too.
You are on an amazing journey, congratulations. Love the number of inches you’ve lost. Thank you for explaining what you are eating and when you are eating.
Thank you so much! It's nothing short of miraculous because it happened so fast - I couldn't believe it!! I mean that weight hasn't moved for years now.
I am so lucky that I love fatty meat. I got back from vacation and I started today but I had grapefruit I had hard-boiled egg and I had cheese steak with cheese. Are you allowed to have cheese i the carnivore diet? I m so happy i have you doing this ! You are so encouraging! Yo are doing great!
Yes - we are allowed to have dairy and cheese however many women find it stalls their weight loss. I think once I get down skinny - I'll branch back into that as a few garnishes but boy - I LOVE cheese!!
@anneclayseekinghealth I have to see what it does. I feel like the good year blimp so this is all good for me! Thankyou so much Ann!
Can you have coffee on this diet😊
@@donnaoscolaighlange I would say probably and use heavy cream in your coffee. No sugar
🙂
Thank you!!
Doesn’t your body need the vitamins and minerals from fruits and veggies?
No, actually, many of those aren't even absorbed into our bodies. Meat contains most if not all of those that are found in plants and in larger more digestible portions.
@@anneclayseekinghealth except for vitamin C remember the sailors got scurvy until they were given lemons?
No wine😢
No wine boo hoo
@@anneclayseekinghealth no parties for you girl! :-)
What about all that fat clogging arteries?
It's such a good question - I'll do a video on that too!! Apparently fat gets burned as fuel right away and doesn't actually get to your arteries. The liver makes cholesterol and the triglycerides are the scary part but people that eat like this say their good HDL goes up, their bad LDL goes down and their triglycerides go down.
@@anneclayseekinghealth great info thank you
Do you think your diet is sustainable long term? I'm not veggie... But the thought of meat daily is off putting for me.
I am however a total sugar junkie which is the thing I need to address. 🤷♀️
Me too! I have done no sugar before and once I had been off a week or so I don’t miss it. But all that fatty meat is making me nauseous to think about it. Never could do the fat. I also have IBS/C which gives me painful bloating daily. I know I got to do something because it is really cramping ( pun intended) my social life and keeping be from enjoying my retirement. Add arthritis to the mix…ugh.
@@myhomemylife9510 I'm the same with IBS, fybro, ME, Peripheral neuropathy and arthritis.
I know sugar makes things worse physically, but emotionally and mentally, it gives me that burst of feel good endorphins. That keeps me hooked.
I will say Anne, your video has made me think more about finding a healthier eating plan that I can make a long term lifestyle choice.
It may or may not be - I don't know. It's only been 2 weeks and I haven't begun to reap the benefits - it's all one day at a time isn't it? I'm committing to 90 days and if I'm thrilled with that I will go further. Right now I don't have any better options and this seems like one that I may really enjoy. I know I have NO sugar cravings anymore!!
Oh boy - I can really address this - I don't like fat either - but I'm learning to deal. The IBS I had was horrible - couldn't go anywhere without worrying. It stopped the second I stopped eating all those fibrous vegies. No IBS at all!
I hear you - the trouble piles up and sugar is the very worst thing for it all! I hope you can find a great eating plan that works for you!!!
Anne, you talked about your blood pressure, but I didn’t hear any mention of cholesterol. Does overall cholesterol number or good/bad cholesterol come into play at all?
I had a cholesterol of about 240 the last time it was checked- the doctor wanted to put me on a statin but she didn't push it because she knew I wouldn't take it. On my last visit she was concerned that my trigs were high and my HDL had gone down. Because it was just a bit over the norm she was leaving it for another time but it was haunting me.
Thanks for your response. Looking forward to hearing your results next time.
