Thank you Dr. Dray ! I appreciate as a social worker you discussing how the heat affects those who take certain psychotropic medications. Here in New York, I have been ready since March. Thanks to you ---I am stocked up on sunscreen, sun -glasses, UPF 50 gloves and baseball caps. Last year, I even purchased some long sleeve polo shirts from Coolibar ( Great, comfortable material) Have a great day !

My main issues are the even though my skin is protected with sunscreen (SPF 70+ reapplied religiously), my Melasma and Rosacea act up so much from the heat alone.

My face itches so so much because of sweating. And it gets raw just from dabbing off the sweat. I can't even rub in the skincare in summers. Only max 2-3 products only dabbing. Anything more and skin will irritate even by the serums etc. 😢😢😢😢

@@bandana_rathore Is it possible you are allergic to the dimethicone, which is priming you to itch when sweaty? It’s in loads of serums, moisturizers, sunscreens and hair products. I am sensitive to it and will break out if there’s too much of it in a product.

The humidity makes all the difference. I grew up in a hot humid summer climate. Now I live in the Pacific Northwest where the summers are dry so it’s more tolerable, and nights are always cool. Big con though is no A/C in older buildings.

But it is much cooler my skin doesn't get hot. Even my head stays cool. And the cotton wicks away sweat.

Thanks for all the great tips. Mid way through the video you mentioned using an anti dandruff shampoo with zinc to deal with folliculitis. BEWARE: Head & Shoulders w/ pyrithione zinc contains Methylisothiazolinone. This chemical is often problematic to people, like myself with sensitive skin and can cause severe rashes. I used to use this product to deal with scalp folliculitis, but the shampoo made the issue worse because of this chemical. It wasn't until I did skin testing at my Derm that I realized I am extremely allergic to this chemical.

I had a job where the AC would invariably die for July and August yearly. It was so hot that I would not even pee no matter how much water I drank. Also, the fan that dried the sweat just made things worse because it was like a false sense of coolness because it was drying the sweat, but the other damages were still building up that whole time. I would get blinding headaches and would have leg cramping all night. Also, every day that followed, the exhaustion would start earlier and be worse, like the body never had time to improve tolerance because each day you were in there being exposed. It was scary how badly my body was messed up from that abuse.

So my daughter has seborrheic dermatitis and she gets a patch on her butt cheek and redness around her nose and eyes. She was on vitamin d3 and the rash went away, she got off d3 and it came back, I believe from what I have seen with my daughter, that d3 can help because of its anti inflammatory properties, it helps with immune. Anyone else have this experience; does science back this up?

I hope you are doing ok and as always I’m very grateful for your videos. Is it true that there are sunscreen products that are more effective in Europe than the ones we have in the USA?
Also the prickly heat can cause people to erroneously take antihistamines and could they also contribute to drug related heat intolerance? Also can scar tissue on the skin prevent sweating?

Thank you so much for this video! 💙 I live in Dominican Republic where it's hot and humid year round
So, I tried Googling if malasezzia (spelling?) is contagious after you showed images of it. It made me realize that my boyfriend has it, although it's only noticeable when he comes back from the barber (it's in the "5 o'clock shadow area). He is dark skinned, but the affected area(s) are very light
Googling it hasn't clarified if it is contagious by skin to skin contact (kissing, snuggling, oral sex, etc)
Do you think it's a cause for concern? 😬
