- This song was always "with me" as I tend to play the acoustic guitar solo to try out the higher note on a dreadnought. But why not include the intro that originally has been played on a piano. You can do it on guitar as well and I will give you 2 possibilities. In this video I'm playing a Levin W32 guitar, mahogany bodied but with the freshness of a rosewood built guitar. From around 1975 Martin Era.
Many thanks to Rowan de Geus who edited this video and Wally Andries who always has the
patience to start all over again in case something is going wrong....
Well done thanks...
Thanks! I really appreciate it and I hope I can help the guitar
playing community a bit who are looking for a kind of lesson
to learn this beautiful song.
Very nice !
Thank you, I really appreciate that. All the best, Noud
Only just come across this. Very well done, Sir. I have a job to do on my house tomorrow. I don’t think so. I'm going to follow you and learn this beautiful song by Al Stewart. 😊
Well, I've just finished the jobs around the house! They needed to be done as well.
Moreover its is a good procedure to have patience with yourself in learning a
song though I know that is difficult when you get captivated by a beautiful song.
Good luck anyway! And thanks for your compliments.
I have the same guitar ,very nice guitar
I can only agree and it stands up against my Martins' as well.
It can compete with a Martin D18 though different in sound.
What do you think of that Levin guitar? I am thinking of buying an identical one from 1976.
They are the hidden treasures between the dreadnoughts around the world
But beware, the Levin name has been reused quite recently for guitars made
in the far east. How their quality is, I do not know. But these recent models
can be listened to on you tube as well!
i want to try this on my 12 string.
Yeah, that must sound great! I think I will try it myself!
I have a Japanse 12 String AW95 guitar. Great instrument.
Very very good...
Thank you, I hope you can do something with the chords and the rest of course.
