My mom told how Jimmy C. Would play at a dance hall in Riceville La. almost every weekend. He was from a small town called Mamou. People would say gros Mamou( big Mamou). Riceville is gone now, memories still linger R.I.P. JIMMY.

The week he died, when the Grand Ol Opry came on they dedicated the show that night in his memory (he played nearly every week there in his later years)... .and get this : As a tribute to him, his wonderful band "Cajun Country" played two or three songs, just like this, like he always did... except he wasn't there to sing them so nobody sang. They just played all the wonderful upbeat music like he always did. It was the coolest way to send him off, I still think about it everytime I hear his name.

Dommage qu'il ne soit pas plus connu en France, c'est un chanteur tellement sympathique et des musiques si entraînantes...

How in the world could you not be happy listening to this! Cajun music should be mandatory listening for everyone--lot's more dancing, loving and a lot fewer problems. Thanks for posting. Love it!

Just to correct what someone said about cajun country,it is specifically an area in southern Louisiana, from Ville Platte south to the gulf coast, from Lake Charles east to Baton Rouge

    Well there's country.
    Tex Mex
    Country western
But when it employs the Cajun creole junction. Really adds a plenty of flavor
    Not just Dixie swing
But also elements of Calypso and. Other exotic rhythmic sensibilities it is a true hub for the. Deep southern soul to. Dip down. After. Appallacia down to Texarkana such a beautiful melting pot of styles
Truly the wealth of the old world is port towns had all the best of everything but from a broad spectrum of influences
Clearly evidenced by the apex of culinary excellence that Louisiana is. Well known for
It's the damn diversity y'all and the fact that it's wide open to the ocean. With all the various ports of call beckoning to bring the riches of flavor and experience.
    It speaks to the man

Our parents and grandparents knew how to have fun and enjoy life. This new generation is plagued with depressed, germaphobic, dog eat dog mentality.

Does anyone know who wrote this song - and originally sang it? Robert Mizzell has it out as his latest single. I am a DJ on Internet Radio OMCRN and would like to learn more about this song. Really enjoyed watching as well as listening
