  • In case you didn't know, the C in Jimmy C. Newman stands for Cajun! The late great Jimmy is often credited for giving Dolly Parton her first Opry appearance-he gave up his second song to her back in 1959 when she was 13. God bless you, Jimmy C.

Back in the day I worked with a bunch of Cajuns on an off shore drilling rig. There was a saying that went around that you never whip a Cajun. If you do you have to whip his grandparents his uncles his cousins his brothers sisters etc.

I met Jimmy in the 80ties when playing in Holland. He took us to his dressing room when we, 4 country loving guys, asking him for a autograph. This is and was a true man. A really beautiful man. God bless him.

Almost as good as what we did with our Dad years ago. My dad built his own banjo, dobro, and violin/fiddle. And played his guitar since he was twelve. He is going to 93 next birthday in August.

Jimmy C is great and always has been. That's great dance music. He started the Aiieeee holler. At dances there was always some one hollering like him when a Cajun song was sung. Good times.

Have it on 45 RPM stereo in my 1961 Seaburg Artist Of The Week juke box. Of course it's by Hank himself. Never heard of Jimmy but he and the band are very good. Hank would probably want to add another fiddle but would approve of this rendition.

Hats are permissible inside public buildings or if part of a uniform, costume or signature part of one's character or act on a stage, restaurant, etc.
Now if I entered your private home and I failed to remove my cap, hat, hood or other head gear, that would be rude and disrespectful.
