You are so right Bob, the crapp they dish up to us today and try to pass off as country music is just that, crapp, I feel so fortunate to have a great collection of this genuine country music to remind me of what we once had , it's also great to have sites like this , keep it coming
"We'll be free to love someday," "When all the talk has gone away," "And the happiness we've hoped for, then we'll share." I don't know why those words bring me to tears, but they do. Love this song.
Love these old songs, grew up on them... miss the real country music, and there are still many country artist. But they don't get air play anymore. Sad!! When I grew up we had Country stations and Rock & Roll stations. Life was good.
Web Pierce is a country music legend..never forgotten..his sound of music lives on in our heart and what entertainment he brought to his fans..The best never die's and he sang so sweet..RIP
I feel bad for people who get judged harshly. Like I always say to hypocrites: "until I see them walkin on water, I don't want to hear any of their nonsense."
When I was stationed at Fort Campbell in the early 50s I spent a lot of Saturday nights setting in the old Ryman watching him, Roy Acuff, and others on stage doing this type of music
Real country songs like this make me cry.I also cry when I hear the new country music today because it has lost all it's country sound.i miss real country so much.To be fair there is a few country musician's left out there who say new country has lost its roots. But I suppose times do change. I only wish real country would stay.
1952 is the year I was born..but..I grew up listening to Web Pierce because my mother liked his music..what a country sensation..and legend..enjoy Web's singing and they don't make music and songs like they use too..so sad..too bad..This is quality..still listening in 2020
I GUESS I WASN'T BORN WHEN HE CAME OUT. BUT I HEARD MY MOM SING THESE SONG'S AND KITTY WELLS. THIS WHITE CIRCLE. AND THEN OF COURSE WHEN I GREW UP. I MARRIED A COUNTRY MUSIC SINGER AND WOW I HEARD HIM SING EVERY SONG HE LEARNED IN MICHIGAN. SO YES I LIKE OLD SONGS AND NEW ONES.
Saw the movie , the Last Picture Show, was a great movie, getting to listen to all of the old songs was the best part of all. You could almost see those kids coming back from Mexico, say they needed several hrs. of sleep.
I was born in 1958 when i was 5yrs old my dad & mum loved their old country music we sit around the fire place in winter & listen to Hank Locklin, Kitty Wells & many more then further down the track we listen to Jim Reeves, Ferlin Huskie i think thats how you spell his name. Love the old style country music, beats todays country music.
I remember fried chicken and covered dishes dinners where everyone brought their guitars and other instruments and picked and sang late into the night. Where the kids eventually wore out and were put on pallets to sleep but the beer and music kept on going. Sometimes until the sun came up.
So....he kept her honor! And spared his best friend too....oh my gosh..😞.....this song played alot at my Grandparents house i sure it did ...i loved it but never understood being just a child ..oh...😢😢...Lefty Frizzell's song )
Greatest Honky Tonk singer ever. No one does a cheatin song better. I don't cheat, but I understand the concept. I don't judge, I just accept. I personally don't do it. Neither does my wife. Only thing in my life I haven't screwed up.
In 1975 in the Kangaroo Club ran by Pat Grant and his wife in Tiverton Lane, a back street in Singapore, this was one of the most played songs on the jukebox, though it might have been the Conway Twitty version
It is interesting that Kitty Wells was a very good female Honky Tonk singer, who actually never did any of what she sings about. Thing is she sounds genuine. She sounds believable. She is just fabulous. She is my favorite female singer, her and Wanda Jackson.
67 years old, the song. 36 comments since this song was posted Jan 30, 2016. This is September 29, 2019 and not one of you thought to address the angst of either song. Especially Wells' explanation of men and how we treat women. It is, ladies and gentlemen, what these two songs are about. You can ignore it or not at your peril. Not one of the comments to date saw the song itself.
Yes, unfortunately humanity is not perfection. We are all sinners to one degree or another. Life is that combination of beauty and ugliness, pleasure and pain, happiness and sadness. Only in the Kingdom of Righteousness will we find perfection with our Heavenly Father and His Son reigning at His right hand.
Yes this so much a wrong thing to do and yes it is all so wrong and that is a lonely song of a love that will never be that's wrong and that is the way to do it and dont you see a love that all is going to only take it away
Yes it was but what do I do or what do I do I know that it was so wrong and now it's much to last and that is not right no I cant it is that way that I dont no that it is so not true
This is what country music is. Just amazing. Wish we had music like this today.

One of my favorite songs as a teenager in the 50s.
Now this is what country should still sound like. These songs will always be timeless.
I totally agree with you it's so much about history and art
yes it is I also agree
They have so much heart and soul!there not a bunch of no nonsense racket like today's country! I tried to listen to that new country I don't like it!
Country was best.back then.Dont know why they can get away with calling it county now days
This was written by the best country music writer of all time, Mr. Hank Williams Sr.

"We'll be free to love someday,"
"When all the talk has gone away,"
"And the happiness we've hoped for,
then we'll share."
I don't know why those words bring me to tears, but they do. Love this song.

The best music ever. I thank God I remember those days. Today music I won’t buy. It not singing it’s yelling
This was my mom and stepdads song. They were finally free to marry and stayed that way til mom died. And yes they were judged harshly.
I feel bad for people who get judged harshly. Like I always say to hypocrites: "until I see them walkin on water, I don't want to hear any of their nonsense."

Kitty Wells is a legend..sings so beautifully and plays guitar so good..RIP Kitty

The beautiful harmonics in Webb’s voice come through to this day!
You can make my day I would play Webb anytime. Love his voice and music

I first heard this song while watching the movie "The Last Picture Show". Guess I grew up in the wrong generation. I love these old songs.
That was a great movie, seen it a long time ago.
thought i was crazy for remembering it in that movie when i couldnt see it on the soundtrack list
what lovely music to grow up with ,could never get tired of this such a shame we have lost most of these great singers ,
Wow! This stuff brings memories of the best people times hangin with mum helping her on the farm when I was knee high to a grasshopper. Yee haw!

It doesn't get any better than Webb and Kitty and those simply produced old recordings
Seen her many years ago just such a great singer
Nobody will ever write songs like this again which is very sad
