    I just gotta say that I love going back and watching all these old music shows... it's just so home drawn and down to earth and heartfelt... it's hard to even try to replace it with anything else.

    Love the song 'Little Rosa'.. I have it on a cassette tape but don't have cassette player in my new car so can't play it there anymore. My husband, deceased now, loved Bluegrass music & had a lot of tapes & old record albums. I have a record player & sometimes play them. We neither one liked the country music they have now. Just the old ones of Loretta Lynn & Conway, George & Tammy, Porter & Dolly, Buck Ownes, Bill Monroe ,Flatt & Scruggs ect..

    These guys were my hillbilly heroes, back in the day. I had to get a guitar and make those sounds myself. They played this great music on the radios during the week days, just the way they play this stuff coming out of Nashville today that they call country but it isn't because they didn't grow up on real country and don't have it in them to made those sounds.

      Contemporary country music is nothing more than bad rock n roll sung with a twang. There's no pickin', very little steel and the fiddles sound like they were hired out of a symphony orchestra. Not good at all and not very interesting to listen to.

  • @mosrite60
    @mosrite60 11 років тому +3

    The shows were pure and simple back then. Nowadays just so commercialized that it is difficult to even watch. Sure, all new country stars have the talent, but the delivery package has changed dramatically. The music is focused on the 18-25 age. Forget about us folks over 45. Good to have reruns on Hee Haw, Porter and others. RDF-TV

    As most lovers of authentic country music know, Webb Pierce was the top selling country singer
    during the 1950s until
    the explosion of rocknroll put a huge dent in the popularity of Pierce and country music in general. Pierce got his start in recording in 1949 on the 4-Star label, and then on his own label,
    Pacemaker. He, along with Hank Williams and many other great singers, groups and bands, was one of the very early members of the Louisiana Hayride.

      @@hennihabeck8502 I don't get what a "usw" is, or a what a "Rem Wall" is, but I am familiar with WKZO, which is a Kalamzoo AM radio station which does not broadcast all the way to the Detroit region. I listened to WKZO via smart phone streaming radio app, up until they cancelled my favorite conservative talk show host (Dr. Michael Savage/Savage Nation)...otherwise I wouldn't know what that meant either. In any case, here in yankee land, we were lucky to get the Johnny Cash show and Hee Haw, but no "Nashville tonight" or Porter Wagoner. Usw Stands for use! W.K.Z.O. had a TV Station with a regular Country Music Show, even older than the Grande Ole Opry! The Country Music Star was the Well known Rem Wall WHO lived inKalamazoo. His Family is still living there. His Son Rendall worked for Gibson Guitar Co.even after they moved to Nashville, he was still their repräsentative. At Times of Porter Wagner Shows and the Like RemWall was already a Star at W.K.Z.O. I know theynow moved some place Else,Rem Wall passed away and Rendall, in the mean time 79, still works for Heretage Guitars once in a while, that is of Corona did Not Catch him!?

    The Wagonmasters worked with precision. A hand crafted, well oiled machine.
    they nailed "More & More" with Webb, "Little Rosa" is the instrumental version of
    "Teardrops In My Heart", performed by "Coco"/Red Sovine. they nailed it too. Miss Dolly's song however they butchered.
    She had HER part down pat.
