Here's the full explanation of why you have to wait 86 seconds: 8 in Japanese is pronounced "Hachi." 6 is pronounced "Roku." Taking the first syllables of both words and putting them together makes it sound like "haru," which is how HAL is pronounced in Japan!

The ghost thing is simple: they really like those snacks, but cannot actually eat them. They still want to find a way so they hide some while they try and figure out how to eat. When Kirby takes them, he ends up taking their last regret binding them to this world, and are able to then pass on completely now that they’re hopeless, yet without regret.
Loved this speedrun! My 5 year old nephew loves this game and I don't get to see him very often; now I'm tempted to get this game for myself! Also, "Hachi Jyu Roku" I believe is the Romaji/Japanese for 86, whereas "Hal" would be pronounced as "Ha-Ru." So I guess I sort of see how that rumor started!
This run was a blast to watch, but I feel like its going to be my only experience with Kirdy and the Forgotten Land. Ever since I saw first saw the mouthful abilities debut, I could never get over how unbelievably stupid they looked, keeping me away from the game. And nothing sums that up better then the final sequence, which could otherwise have been so cool.

They don’t really give you a waddle dee for that, it’s more that that was the one they were guarding.
I love this game sm but I could never speedrun it, I’d just spend all my time exploring!
