- Checking out the impressive Mammoth75. This is an early model and subject to some frustration during the build process, but the end result is a gorgeous, flexy, beast of a custom 75% worthy of the name MAMMOTH. Sound tests for both configurations and with/without the PE Sheet are included.

This is one of my favourite layouts out right now. I love a knob that makes me insecure.
Nice and honest review. I'd insist though that most of those annoying points have been corrected for the GB:
- Screw underneath space bar will be moved
-
No hot glue on DB's JST cable to the daughter board
- Daughter board will be packaged in separate bag
- Plastic standoff screws will be changed to metal screws
- PCB and plate foams won't be pre-installed
- There will be 2 Pieces of case gaskets
Just the PCB vertical placement adjustment and paying attention while screwing will stay ;)
But QMK/VIA, multiple configurations possible and sick look will still make me consider it (plus this souuund ^^)
I put in my pre order and I literally am flipping out already trying to wait for this board, as this will my first "higher end" board.
@@niko1even Same here. I bought it because of the fact that it has a split spacebar and wireless option. This board is loaded with so many features. I just hope I don't scratch the case.

Foam obsession is kind of cringe at this point, especially when it's pre-applied in a way that makes it difficult to remove it. I don't even like thocky keyboards and think foam makes most switches sound really boring, so this sort of thing kills a board for me.
This review really hit me where it hurts; Brian my dude I hadnt seen anyone use the GMK Mecha-01 keycaps in a keyboard review yet as I missed out on the GB BUTT ended up snagging the deskpad as a consolation prize.

I think the reason why your spacebar sounds so bad is because the switch is northfacing, actually.
I had the exact same issue with the multilayout PCB on the Ikki68 and Gat Ink Blacks that for some reason still interfere with GMK spacebars.
The solution for me was just to use a long(er) pole switch on the spacebar, you might have the same finding, though i do still think that the top housing of the switch makes a difference so it might not be a problem on all short-pole switches.
Honestly, it feels like a very very big compromise just to allow for a split spacebar config that barely anyone will use, but oh well.
Coming from brass plates as my first board, I really appreciate the existence of bouncy boards for a new experience.
75% is my favorite layout. To me, the biggest selling point is the mammoth logo and the bluetooth -- but one of the things i hate similar to the original ikki that I got in on is that I had no choice but to buy the bluetooth pcb as an extra. At least that was the case with the brass bottom mammoth...
Great review! A friend wanting to get into the hobby bought the group buy, but I'll be making it. Hopefully the hiccups will be polished at GB delivery, glad I'm building it and not them!

Man I wanted this one couldn't afford it atm. I got rid of my Q1 cause I just wasn't feeling it. Now I need a board just like this one but without the hurdles. I have too many entry lvl boards and their shortcomings are becoming more evident now. Thanks for the awesome review!.
There’s a lot on the 2nd hand market. The fact the groupbuy took forever to sell off the brass bottom and alu pvd groupbuy still up is telling sign. Try picking up one of the boards that get unloaded (esp the instock versions) then
This and the 7v are the cleanest 75% boards I've seen yet, Imo. I don't like the knobs on most 75's but this one is noice. You da' man B!
Wow that No PE foam setup is Definetly how I’m gonna build mine. I got the mammoth20 in stock buy and it was such a frustrating time lining up that sheet. It sounds fantastic though. Can’t wait for this build!
This board had me at “split spacebar on a 75%”, which is exceedingly rare, but also the synthesis of two of my favorite things. If you wanted a 75% with split spacebar support and a knob, this is the only one.

The build process was annoying as hell like he mentioned, but man if it wasn't the best board I've ever touched. Truly an experience with split shifts and split spacebars and some AEBoards Staebiez. Using watermelon milkshakes and a carbon fiber plate. This would be a board I could see myself never searching for more with and just being happy.
Too bad it died in just 2 days :/

Still remember Andy got crap on by their discord for not reading their manual, breaking JST, and got frustrated too early. Gotta agree, at the current state, this board's building experience is not user friendly. Hopefully it will get better by ship date.
I love my Ikki68, so I wanted to try out the new Wuque board but I just can't get with the design. The knob and 4 key cluster is really ugly to me.

This hobby can be very expensive. Some people get addicted, or you can play it smart and just buy one really nice board, and be set for years and years to come

Definitely case where groupbuy one is better than instock. I joined the groupbuy for brass pvd one to get the correction. However i am liking the instock one (followed the guide).
The install process wasn’t as smooth as my Mr.Suit. I ended up using the enclosed tools versus an electric screwdriver for the suit. I think the Mr.Suit is better board overall. Now just waiting for Owlabs Spring International Sale to come.

In order to bring more “premium” boards to a broader market, Wuque and other designers have to make some sacrifices on tolerances, design complexity, QC, etc. You’re just not going to see a Keycult quality fit and finish on an unlimited group buy or massive in stock drop. Nor are you going to see a Logitech plug and play premium custom. These designers don’t have the resources to make that happen, nor is it worth their effort and risk to take on that challenge, and certainly Logitech and other big players don’t have the competency to do so. I think you expressed this impact well in that, while this is kind of an accessible premium custom, it still isn’t quite an accessible premium custom.
That said - Wuque, Owlabs, Mode, and others are doing great things in the hobby to get really good boards in more hands and I hope the trend continues.

As someone who missed out on the in-stock but did join the GB, I'm glad I caught this video. If I hadn't gone into the build knowing about the potentially frustrating nature of the board, I probably would have been pissed, but it was manageable since I was expecting it. Running it right now with the full gasket mount, no case foam, POM plate and absolutely loving it. Pairs well with the BadSeed Tactiles too.
Thanks for getting me hooked in the custom keyboard space -_-. Got me hooked about a month ago. Ordered drop ctrl TKL couple weeks ago and have been going nuts customizing it out.
I've been waiting for all the reviews. I snagged an in stock M20 to hold me over until my gb board shows up. I'm pumped to build the 75 after Alexotos and Taeha did theirs on steam.

I gotta say I love and hate this board at the same time. The one I got has a huge factory scratch on the back along with every single problem that Brian mentioned in the video. But it sounds and feels so good. I have mixed feelings about it.

That is a beautiful keeb, but def too pricey for me. To my non-trained ear, it sounds just like the tape mod. It sure is gorgeous, tho.

Man, this was an excellent video. Your thoughts on the build process line up with my expectations of this board. I shared the same frustrations with my ikki68, but there's no denying how GOOD the board sounds. If Wuque addresses these habits in their next board, they're gonna be a powerhouse in the community.
Did they fix the wobble on the stepped caps on the hot swap? It wobbles a lot on the Ikki, hoping they fixed it with all the newer stuff.
