Hope you guys like some tea :D In the spirit of keeping us on our toes & improving our vlogs further here are our thoughts of this vlog from a technical perspective: We had some issues filming this vlog as there were rather rigid rules to filming at the Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon. We couldn't lift our camera as the manager was worried it might capture the faces of other patrons. Hence the angle of the shots were rather limited. On top of that, the time limit did not help & we had to ensure we get everything before our time is up. Hence, this vlog might feel a tad rushed :( That said, sound recording was generally satisfactory & the vlog turned out way better than we anticipated :) There could've been more variety of close ups but we were short on time & for the amount of time we had...we felt we did a rather decent job hahaha! Hope you'll still enjoy this episode & we'll see you in the next one!
My favourite store in the world and they have the best Afternoon Tea in London in my opinion and for me nothing's better than Afternoon Tea - I absolutely love going to Fortnums.
Hello Orn 👋, yes Fortnums is indeed an impressive store 😁! Good to know you love their Afternoon Tea! Hope you’ve enjoyed this episode & we’ll see you in the next one! ☺️
The afternoon tea looked beautiful, I hope you asked for second helpings. They will box up scones and cakes that are left over, for you to take home. Thank you for sharing!
Hi there 👋, we did get another serving of their sandwiches. Didn’t know we could box up the scones & cakes, thanks for sharing this info! 😊 Glad you’ve enjoyed this episode, hope to see you in our future vlogs!
I spent 70 pounds at Harrods on afternoon tea in September 2023 and loved it. You can have unlimited refills and there was no time limit servers came by frequently in made sure the water was full and hot.
When I was a poor student in London in 1978, my friends and I would go to Harrods for an all you can eat afternoon tea buffet. It cost - wait for it - one pound fifty.
A good honest review. I agree about not keeping the the tea pot fresh and hot. I mean it's only hot water and a bit of tea leaves! For that k8nd of money, they should have at least asked.
I liked your detailed description of each of the delicacies. I can imagine it would be difficult to film in the environment but thanks for taking us along 🌸✨☺️
Thank you so much@@andreas4268 !! We ended up at the Ritz and had the absolute best time!! It was the highlight of our trip. They treat you like royalty (not like a conveyer belt like Ting). While not all their sandwiches were as tasty as Ting's...the service and sweets were far above!! They truly like to serve, and it shows. We enjoyed Ting and it was a neat experience...but for true elegance and people who are genuinely eager to serve you and provide their BEST (what "Ritz" is all about)...then DEFINITELY try the Ritz!
I love afternoon tea in London but it is crazy expensive especially at a place like Fortnum & Mason or one of the better hotels like the Ritz. Definitely not an everyday treat so it’s nice to splurge once in a while.
I’m really enjoying your food videos! And the way you describe the flavours and expectations - I also appreciate you noting on the price of this stuff, as often people don’t even mention it’s a hit to the wallet 😅 subscribed!
Hello Yvaia 👋, glad you enjoyed our videos & we’re extremely grateful for the kind comment ☺️! Hope you’ll continue to enjoy this food journey with us & we’ll see you in the next one! 😋
Forget about the afternoon tea at Fortnum & Mason. Instead take away the food from their food hall Check out the hams, the hand sliced smoked salmon and the pies. Especially they pork pies and the scotch eggs you have tried.
And careful there is a fight about how to eat scones properly. Well-known is the way you did it, so clotted cream first and jam on top. In Cornwall the jam comes first and then the clotted cream 🤭
We are visiting in Sept. and want to go to F&M. Do they have a dress code? Trying to find a nice tea place that wouldn’t require my hubby to wear a jacket or proper shoes.
Wealth inequality is such a problem in London. The reason Fortnum's can charge 70 GBP is that there are enough Londoners and even tourists who are willing to spend that to either say they've been there or to check that item off their bucket list. But it is NOT value for money, and while doing these sorts of things used to be a once in a while treat for many, now regular folk are priced out of the experience. That said, there are tons of places offering wonderful teas all over London, where you don't need to break the bank and I would suggest to anyone to try that route instead of giving Fortnum's their extortionate fee for the dubious pleasure.
Hi Tom, our sources indicate that coronation chicken was created for the coronation lunch of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953 ☺️. Thanks for dropping by & we hope you enjoyed this episode! 😊
hi im going to London in two weeks so I was wondering if when im asking for a refill do they refill everything or do I have to ask for a refill for a specific thing also I would like to know do you choose like a set from the menu or is it always the same?
Hello there, thanks for dropping by! When you ask for a refill you can tell them if you want everything or just a specific tier, or even that specific cake/sandwich. Some of the items are a main stay (eg: coronation chicken sandwich) & the rest might depends on what they made on that day 😊
Hello Eden, that’s rather unfortunate 🥲. When we visited the sandwiches & cakes were fresh though, guess there’s a consistency issue 😖 Do share with us your favourite Afternoon Tea spot, we’ll definitely visit the next time we’re in London 😋
I have a feeling you rushed it for the video and could not enjoy it, it looked very good and you did not even appreciate the ambience. Yes you are paying more for the venue, but it is nice nonetheless. The dish coronation chicken has an interesting history btw, the duck scotch egg looked on point and the tiers amazing. You were just pushing the nice pieces into your mouth like they are fries at McD. 😱Sorry 💕, thank you for the vlog
Hello Katrin 👋, nice to see you again! Don't worry about giving constructive criticism, that's how we improve 😁! Yes you are right, due to the time limit we did rush a tad & did not get to fully take in the ambience 😢, perhaps this is the downside of being food vloggers 😂. The duck scotch egg is indeed executed very well & is the best we've had to date! As for the finger sandwiches & cakes even though it looked like we rushed the eating process rest assured we assessed the flavours thoroughly. The food is definitely of quality, however it felt steep at 70£ for the flavour we're getting. That said, with the ambience coming into play it is rather worth the experience 😁. Thanks for joining us on this adventure & we look forward to see you in our future adventures too!
Slurping, often considered rude in certain cultures, has been found to improve the flavor of tea. While it may take some practice to master, the technique involves sipping a small amount of tea and drawing in air through pursed lips to aerate the liquid. This process not only cools the tea but also adds oxygen to it, releasing more flavor compounds.
We are in London now for hoilday. Yesterday we went to Fortnum and Mason Afternoon High Tea. It was a horrific experience. The service is absolutely bad. The staff of London food market served their customers way better than these ill trained staff.

Great review, but I agree don’t slurp your tea as it’s annoying as a viewer. It’s makes it seem like you shouldn’t be there. Also, please don’t just grab your food and shove it in your mouth. For a high end food review, it lessens the credibility of the reviewer. On the positive side, thanks for being honest that F&M did not meet your expectations to justify the price.😊
All unhealthy food. White bread, with all items also made of white flour. Why are they promoting such high tea. Please promote places which offer organic breads and delicacies.
Between the jumpy music and your hurried eating, this was not a very relaxed experience. Afternoon tea is supposed to be a relaxing time for social conviviality.
