I think that every decade has great movies. 60s- The Good, The Bad and The Ugly and PSYCHO 70s- The Warriors and Taxi Driver 80s- Ghost Busters and The Terminator 90s- T2 and Pulp Fiction You can't really decide, because all of these decades are great in different ways. But if I had to pick, it would probably be the 90s, but man, we can all agree that movies are great.
It's a hard one since the 90s had Pulp Fiction,Reservoir dogs,Matrix,Terminator 2,Goodfellas,Silence of the lambs,Toy Story,Lion king,fight club,Schindlers list and more and the 70s had The godfather,The godfather 2,taxi driver,Star wars,jaws,the French connection,Dirty Harry,The exorcist,Ricky and more
70's was usually depressing but intense movies 80's was overall magnificently classical 90's New creative animations+ the 80's remarkable traits 2000's Awesome animation, very fun creative stories, more fiction than non fiction, good comedy 2010s .... I don't even watch movies now. I stopped since like 2008, they suck.
#10- Fight Club #9- The Silence of The Lambs #8- Se7en #7- Forrest Gump #6- Saving Private Ryan #5- Terminator 2: Judgement Day #4- Schindler's List #3- Pulp Fiction #2- The Shawshank Redemption HM: Toy Story; The Matrix; Jurassic Park; The Big Lebowski; Resevoir Dogs; The Usual Suspects; Titanic; Leon: The Professional; The Truman Show; The Lion King #1- Goodfellas
The Shawshank Redemption 2? I know Good Fellas is a master piece but there will never be another movie like TSR it should be 1 and it is the highest rated movie of all time, I doubt anyone would surpass that and even now after all these years no movie have surpassed it.
Here's my list 10. Schindler's List 9. Gettysburg 8. Casino 7. The Green Mile 6. Reservoir Dogs 5. Saving Private Ryan 4. Pulp Fiction 3. Braveheart 2. Goodfellas 1. Heat
10. The Usual Suspects 9. Perfect Blue 8. Mononoke Princess 7. American History X 6. Trainspotting 5. Se7en 4. The Goodfellas 3. Pulp Fiction 2. Schindler's List 1. The Shawshank Redemption
10. Pulp Fiction 9. Toy Story 8. The Matrix 7. Independence Day 6. Fight Club 5. Saving Private Ryan 4. The Lion King 3. Forrest Gump 2. Terminator 2: Judgment Day 1. Jurassic Park This is my version of the list
I'm not saying that these SHOULD be on this list, but here are just some more awesome movies from the 90s that weren't included on here: Seven, Heat, Apollo 13, Braveheart, Reseroir Dogs, Saving Private Ryan, American History X, Ed Wood, Edward Scissorhands, Leon, The Fifth Element, Good Will Hunting, Beuty and the Beast, Aladdin, The iron Giant, Unforgiven, GoldenEye, and much, much more. I could go on forever, the 90s was really a amazing decade for cinema.
@@epicman7811 it has been a turning point in blockbuster cinema. The story wasn't the best but the uniqueness of the concept and Spielberg's capability of creating realistic scenes. It was a good movie. Not the best.
"Jurassic Park", "Saving Private Ryan", "Clueless", "Fargo", "The Crow", "American Beauty", "Beauty and the Beast", Green Mile", "Braveheart", and "Aladdin".
I agree with your list there, except Clueless. I mean really?!?!? CLUELESS?!?!?! No chance in hell that should be considered a "top" movie of the 90's.
Clueless, American Beauty, Aladdin, Braveheart, and even Fargo shouldn't be on there. You could argue braveheart and fargo if it were 20 but not with 10.
@@jdp8348 The Truman Show is a brilliant movie. Completely original, great acting all round and an even better score. I understand its a bit far-fetch, but to go as far as saying it sucks. I think you're very wrong.
1. Titanic 2. Silence of the Lambs 3. Shawshank Redemption 4. Goodfellas 5. Saving Private Ryan 6. American Beauty 7. The Usual Suspect 8. L.A confidential 9. The Matrix 10. Three colour trilogy: Red, Blue , white
1. The Shawshank Redemption 2. Jurassic Park 3. The Truman Show 4. Titanic 5. Life is Beautiful 6. Schindler's List 7. Goodfellas 8. Pulp Fiction 9. Eyes Wide Shut 10. Forrest Gump Awesome decade.
hamada saleh I dont think that is the case, although I do not agree with critics many have rated Citizen Kane as the greatest film of all time/century. and as far as the list, Titanic has no business on the top 10 neither does life is beautiful and although I love Truman Show it shouldnt either
In my humble opinion, the 90s was the best decade for film! Just off the top of my head, here are movies from the 90s: Schindler's List, Lion King, A Few Good Men, Saving Private Ryan, Shawshank Redemption, Goodfellas, Crimson Tide, Scent of a Woman, Titanic, Seven, The Usual Suspects, Braveheart, Jerry Maguire, Fargo, The Big Lebowski, Beauty and the Beast, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Aladdin, The Prince of Egypt, Awakenings, Dances with Wolves, The Man in the Iron Mask, Philadelphia, Pulp Fiction, Fight Club, Terminator 2, The Matrix, The Silence of the Lambs, Mrs. Doubtfire, Ghost, Speed, The Mask, Jurassic Park, The Piano, Shakespeare in Love, Forrest Gump, Heat, Interview with the Vampire, Magnolia, Good Will Hunting, As Good As It Gets, American Beauty, and many many more!!! How do you top that? Someone please give me a decade they think tops the 90s. Obviously, great movies come out in all decades (Godfather, Ben-Hur, Rain Man, Platoon, Lord of the Rings, etc.), but as far as the total amount of classics, I think the 90s is King!
I just realized that the 90's was such an amazing year for movies. Especially 1994 because it has Pulp Fiction, The Shawshank Redemption, and Forrest Gump.
1994 was the best year of movies of all time. 5 of the top 50 come from that year: The Shawshank Redemption Pulp Fiction Forrest Gump Leon The Lion King
pytko3 I disagree. In my opinion 1939 had only 3 amazing movies: The Wizard of Oz, Gone with the wind and Mr. Smith goes to Washington. While 1994 has 5 amazing movies and in my opinion all 5 better than the 3 of 1939.
My top 10 movies of the 1990s 1. the Shawshank redemption 2. Forrest ghump 3. Schinlers list 4. Godfellas 5. the green mile 6. saving private ryan 7. American history X 8. Fight club 9. pulp fiction 10. resevoirs dogs Honarble mentions : Braveheart , casino , titanic , the silence of the lambs , terminator 2 , the usual suspects , seven ,

The list goes on... All these movies were made in the 90's, and all of them are classic and incredibly amazing... was it the best decade for movies or what?
+Gambito99100 It's not a shitty film and it is underrated. I'd consider it a top ten decade film. It was the first big film to be shot in digital, and it had its contributions to film-making. The other prequels are shitty, but other than Jar-Jar Binks, this film was a stunner at the time.
Milaan Vigraham Well, many people thought it was the worst one of the franchise, due to it's heavy unnecessary boring dialogue, while people were looking for cool, funny dialogue scenes and epic fights, like the original trilogy
Gambito99100 people looking for humour? Screw them, SW isn't a comedy film.. when you cater to such tastes you get "The Force Awakens" and we all know what a disaster that was. "Cool" is precisely what Star Wars never was in the 70s... it never tried to conform. And it makes no sense for it to start conforming now. SW was cool for those who liked it back then, who were "uncool" nerds. That's why it was so special. Epic fights? Did you see Darth Maul vs Obi Wan and Qui-Gon? Don't tell me you thought that was worse than the horrible one in Episode 4. The score for the duel was also terrific. It was an outstanding duel.

I just don't understand how people are getting emotionally involved and angry at their choices! It's happened in every other Top 10 Films in x Decade list for the past few weeks. "WHERE IS [SO AND SO?!] THIS LIST SUCKS. YOU GUYS SUCK!" I mean... if you feel THAT strongly about something, make your own list! Man, it's like even if for their Honorable Mentions they put something like "Every other film that came out in this Decade", there is going to be SOMEBODY who says "WHAT? [THIS MOVIE] SUCKED! WHY WOULD YOU SAY EVERY OTHER MOVIE IF [THIS ONE] SUCKED!" It's ridiculous. Why can't we just discuss the merits the films in the list have instead of bitching about the ones that aren't in it?
best drama, Best comedy, best action, Best inspirational movie, Best crime, best horror, Best thriller, best screenplay, Best direction, best music, Best plot twist, best animated feature, Best historical feature = 90s

Lone Ranger Braveheart has ten letters in it. Ten is a number. Numbers are like letters? Braveheart has letters in it. Watchmojo has 9 letters 10+9= 19. You know who was 19? Hitler. You know how many nipples Obama would have if he had 17 more? 19. Braveheart is the Illuminati.
Ik this comment is a year old but it's annoying because saving private ryan is overrated asf. Apocalypse now, platoon, schindler's list, full metal jacket and black hawk down are all way better than saving private ryan.
@@nievesofficial yes it fucking is, people say that it's the best war movie ever when it's not, okay admittedly the D-day scene is realistic to war, but after that it's just complete bullshit and all the war movies I mentioned are far better and more true to what war is. Like apocalypse now has kurtz going insane and from normal man to complete psychopath, platoon has got taylor transition from college boy to killer, and how Barnes has lost his mind because of it and schindler's list is just haunting and the most violent and realistic depiction of the holocaust ever and it dosent hold back on anything, and full metal jacket show the duality of man and joker turning from the scared reporter to a killer and soldier with the '1000 yard stare'. They're all so much better than saving private ryan.
Each year in the 90s had at least 1 stand out movie 90 - GoodFellas, Home Alone, Misery, Ghost, Dances With Wolves 91 - Terminator 2, Silence of the Lambs, Beauty and the Beast, Barton Fink, Boyz n the Hood 92 - Reservoir Dogs, Unforgiven, Aladdin, Batman Returns, A Few Good Men 93 - Schindler’s List, Jurassic Park, Mrs Doubtfire, Groundhog Day, Fugitive 94 - Forrest Gump, Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction, Lion King, Ed Wood 95 - Toy Story, Apollo 13, Babe, Usual Suspects, Braveheart 96 - Fargo, Jerry Maguire, Happy Gilmore, Scream, Independence Day 97 - Titanic, Good Will Hunting, Boogie Nights, As Good As It Gets, Men in Black 98 - Saving Private Ryan, Truman Show, Big Lebowski 99 - American Beauty, Sixth Sense, Being John Malkovich, Matrix, Green Mile
50 years down the road, people will remember titanic just like how they remember shawshank redemption, pulp fiction and Schindler's list and many great others

I find it absolutely amazing that Jurassic Park had cgi that holds up 20 years later. Seriously, those artists blew my mind back in the early 90s. While our effects are arguably better now, nothing beats the wonder and anticipation of what cgi promised. T2 and Jurassic Park were my 2 favorite movies of the 90s.
Animatronics are amazingly lifelike. I wish more producers would mix cgi with practical effects. There's a reason that the original Star Wars trilogy looks more authentic than the new crap. I want my animatronics, I want my miniatures!
JP is my favorite movie of all time. As for T2, it's an incredibly fun action flick, but I don't see enough in it to be as big a fan. Also I preferred the first Terminator.
Well, if they WERE to put down all the greatest films that came out of the nineties, the video would be like an hour long. So many movies could have been on this list, but they had to pick and choose. I've unfortunately never seen Big Lebowski though, so I don't know if it deserves it's spot.
+Logan Mckeage i can't blame them to not putting many another movies on this list, because as we know there are too many great movies at that decade...
I am shocked that Jurassic Park, Titanic and Saving Private Ryan were not on this list. Not even brought up as honorable mentions. Maybe they need to make another list of the top 10 movies of the 1990s and include these 3 right here!
My top 10 favorite 90's movies is: 10- The Fight Club 9- Jurassic Park 8- Jackie Brown 7- Batman Returns 6- Edward Scissorhands 5- SE7EN 4- Reservoir Dogs 3- Titanic 2- Goodfellas 1- Pulp... (gunshot) "Oh I'm sorry did I break your concentration?" Pulp Fiction
1. Forrest Gump 2. Goodfellas 3. The Shawshank Redemption 4. The Big Lebowski 5. Pulp Fiction 6. The Silence is the Lambs 7. The Lion King 8. Toy Story 9. Fargo 10. Fight Club
Heat, L.A. Confidential, Fargo, American Beauty, Trainspotting, Casino, Saving Private Ryan, Boogie Nights, Aladdin, Reservoir Dogs and The Truman Show to name but a few more..
1) Pulp Fiction 2) Forrest Gump 3) The Shawshank Redemption 4) Schindler's List 5) GoodFellas 6) Titanic 7) The Silence of the Lambs 8) Terminator 2: Judgement Day 9) Braveheart 10) Fight Club - this would be a more accurate list of the top ten greatest 90s films in my opinion.
Toy Story was the first full length feature film in history to not use an actual camera at all, definitely one of the most important films of all time.
trainspotting, jurassic park, schindler's list, goodfellas, cape fear, fight club, the matrix, american beauty, stephen king's it, misery, the usual suspects, the shawshank redemption, the sixth sense, scream, the silence of the lambs, pulp fiction, se7en. Just to mention a few...
to be fair I bet you were born sometime after 1985, I tend to agree with you, but I feel like I am biased because I was born 1990, so a lot of these movies have a fond place in my childhood.
Warphim I was actually born in '93. And yeah all the movies on this list are great films. Im actually really into movies, some of my favorites are from before I was born like Godfather and Scarface. But with the 90's there was just so much awesome that a top 10 would be nearly impossible for someone like me to make
Narrowing down the 90's, one of the best decades in movie history, to only 10 movies is a near impossible task. There's bound to be tons of amazing movies left out
Rearranging the list IMO 1: fight club 2: goodfellas 3: pulp fiction 4: the Shawshank redemption 5: the silence of the lambs 6: schindlers list 7: Forrest Gump 8: terminator 2 9: the Matrix 10: toy story
The best decade for films in my opinion.
Dude 1970s and 1990s
Lol I've seen someone say that on every list
CJ543211 Aye that's probably because everyone has an opinion and in mine the 90's was the best decade for film.
Jacob Jeffries Yeah I know it's just funny
I just wish Titanic would have made the top 10!!!!
Their were too many movies. 90's definitely was one of the best for film
.
Pedro Hernandez yep..many groundbreaking movies in this decade

The 90s was STACKED with movies.
So many to put out an accurate top 10 list.

Great villain
Great Twist
Great performances
Gritty and dark
Phenomenal
The fact that Titanic got an honorable mention says alot about the quality of movies from the 90’s.
The 90s were the golden years of cinema
80s*
ok
Michael Izzo 60s
No 70s
Huskie Squad not exactly
This was definitely the best decade to be a movie goer, movies were interesting and originality at it's best
Simultaneously the worst decade for music.

‘94 alone was good enough to have its own top 10

Chungking Express, The Hudsuvker Proxy, Satantango...
I have always thought that that year was the most amazing in artistic terms, music and movies.
@@ciudadanakane8743 a good year it was. Happy were the ones who vibed with 94'

70s- The Warriors and Taxi Driver
80s- Ghost Busters and The Terminator
90s- T2 and Pulp Fiction

Yes.
It's a hard one since the 90s had Pulp Fiction,Reservoir dogs,Matrix,Terminator 2,Goodfellas,Silence of the lambs,Toy Story,Lion king,fight club,Schindlers list and more and the 70s had The godfather,The godfather 2,taxi driver,Star wars,jaws,the French connection,Dirty Harry,The exorcist,Ricky and more
+Giovannie Cassadean how did u not mention Jurassic park or point break
Its seems to be my favourite
70's was usually depressing but intense movies
80's was overall magnificently classical
90's New creative animations+ the 80's remarkable traits
2000's Awesome animation, very fun creative stories, more fiction than non fiction, good comedy
2010s .... I don't even watch movies now. I stopped since like 2008, they suck.

All these movies were made in the 90's, and all of them are classic and incredibly amazing... was it the best decade for movies or what?
Caillou: The Little Brat I considered it amazing for being part of the Star Wars saga, which is amazing, but the movie itself is shitty
+Gambito99100 fuk yeahhhhhhhhh

Braveheart? Are you having a laugh
Jurassic Parks CGI holds up now quite easily..only very large budget movies have better CGI than JP nowadays
I agree with you there. The CGI and the animatronics make the dinosaurs look so real. It will always be my favorite movie.
Jurassic park is my fave movie
The lion king is thousand times better than toy story 1
I always like Alladin for some reason. My fav disney film
I think there are just too many great movies to fit on this list. After thinking about it, I think the 90s had some of the greatest films ever.
the 90's had the best movies!
Jurassic Park doesn't even get an honerable mention
At least It appears in the intro
It was mentioned on 5:49
Ik what a joke watchmojo is
Hold on to your butts
trash movie
How is it that Saving Private Ryan, Fargo, Boogie Nights, American Beauty and Unforgiven weren't at least honorable mentions but The Big Lebowski is?
Well this is like their opinion Man!!
1999alexh Not saying it was a bad film (I honestly love it), but shouldn't be considered one of the best films of the 90s.
Well, if they WERE to put down all the greatest films that came out of the nineties, the video would be like an hour long. So many movies could have been on this list, but they had to pick and choose. I've unfortunately never seen Big Lebowski though, so I don't know if it deserves it's spot.
There's no way that Jurassic Park didn't make it at all. That was an amazing movie that everyone at least knows about, if not liked by them.
Where the fuck is the green mile
TRUE
Ikr i was gonna say that!!
i honestly I thought after shawshank that would be #1
Yeah
+Logan Mckeage i can't blame them to not putting many another movies on this list, because as we know there are too many great movies at that decade...
I am shocked that Jurassic Park, Titanic and Saving Private Ryan were not on this list. Not even brought up as honorable mentions. Maybe they need to make another list of the top 10 movies of the 1990s and include these 3 right here!
With Pulp Fiction on top following The Shawshank Redemption, and Titanic only a mention, this is a perfect list to me.
Midi Zakaria what’s wrong with titanic?
Midi Zakaria pretty shit list if you ask me.
My top 10 favorite 90's movies is:
10- The Fight Club
9- Jurassic Park
8- Jackie Brown
7- Batman Returns
6- Edward Scissorhands
5- SE7EN
4- Reservoir Dogs
3- Titanic
2- Goodfellas
1- Pulp... (gunshot) "Oh I'm sorry did I break your concentration?" Pulp Fiction
Gerardo Cortes The Fight Club?
I like 3, 7, 9, 5.
I love quentin tarantino but jackie brown does not deserve even an honorable mention for the 90s
Where’s shawshank redemption?!
Good will hunting is literally my favorite movie OF ALL TIME. Why is it not even a god dam honorable mention?
I know. It's so fucking good.
1. Forrest Gump
2. Goodfellas
3. The Shawshank Redemption
4. The Big Lebowski
5. Pulp Fiction
6. The Silence is the Lambs
7. The Lion King
8. Toy Story
9. Fargo
10. Fight Club
Heat, L.A. Confidential, Fargo, American Beauty, Trainspotting, Casino, Saving Private Ryan, Boogie Nights, Aladdin, Reservoir Dogs and The Truman Show to name but a few more..
So many good movies in this decade.
Jurassic Park, SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, BRAVEHEART?
1) Pulp Fiction
2) Forrest Gump
3) The Shawshank Redemption
4) Schindler's List
5) GoodFellas
6) Titanic
7) The Silence of the Lambs
8) Terminator 2: Judgement Day
9) Braveheart
10) Fight Club
- this would be a more accurate list of the top ten greatest 90s films in my opinion.
Ridley Scott's Thelma & Louise is a definite hit not just in the 90s but in all of film it should have appeared on that list somewhere.
I really feel like a top 10 doesn't do the 90's justice. There were too many great films released in that decade to narrow it down to just 10
to be fair I bet you were born sometime after 1985, I tend to agree with you, but I feel like I am biased because I was born 1990, so a lot of these movies have a fond place in my childhood.
Indeed. '90s movies probably deserve at least a top-20.
Warphim I was actually born in '93. And yeah all the movies on this list are great films. Im actually really into movies, some of my favorites are from before I was born like Godfather and Scarface. But with the 90's there was just so much awesome that a top 10 would be nearly impossible for someone like me to make
The 1990’s wasn’t just the last decade before the new millennium, it was the last great decade for movies and in my opinion the best in movie history
Saving Private Ryan should have been top 5, it is arguably the best war movie
Saving Private Ryan, American History X, American Beauty, True Romance, Fargo, Following, The Insider, The Green Mile??????????
oh and Se7en
Narrowing down the 90's, one of the best decades in movie history, to only 10 movies is a near impossible task. There's bound to be tons of amazing movies left out
I don't know weather if I should agree or protest
Se7en?
***** Go watch that movie now if you haven't!
These were truly the golden years of cinema.
Extremely disagree. Number one must be Shawshank redemption in any case and how can u left Titanic in top ten, showing in honor able mention . Omg.
Wikki Foo nope. Not even that extremely overrated ass movie either.
Should have been Goodfellas.
You have to learn how to speak English first
Rearranging the list IMO
1: fight club
2: goodfellas
3: pulp fiction
4: the Shawshank redemption
5: the silence of the lambs
6: schindlers list
7: Forrest Gump
8: terminator 2
9: the Matrix
10: toy story
