I honestly didn't like the Outsiders movie even thoe I really like the book. I feel like the acting wasn't as good as it could be. I also think that the choice to make the author of the book write the screenplay didn't pay off for this movie because it just feels like the exact same as the book, only rushed a little more. And it was a little disappointing knowing who directed it. But that's just my opinion.

Ridley Scott's Blade Runner (Director's Cut) is not only the best movie of the 80s, its THE greatest movie of all time ... it has the most sensuous visuals and music ever put on screen, all the characters are so cool, unique and iconic, its thematically fleshes out the preciousness of being alive so beautifully and poetically ... its a monumental movie which stands the test of time, ahead of all of today's sci fi wannabes ..

EVERY decade has its share of benchmark motion pictures, but the 1980's has arguably the longest laundry list of classic and original films. There's so many great movies that this list didn't even mention: Full Metal Jacket, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Big Trouble in Little China, Top Gun, Predator, Flashdance, Robocop, Good Morning Vietnam, First Blood, The Secret of NIMH, Tron, The Untouchables, Big, Airplane!, A Christmas Story-- the list goes on and on and on! Maybe I'm just forgetting how influential the '90s and 2000's were in filmmaking, but we can at least agree that the '80s brought tons of stellar franchises that are still alive and well today. Star wars is the most SUPER EPIC Sci-Fi Movies of all time. And you should know that Star Wars Episode V was officially named the best film of Sci-Fi of all time (until now).
But the purpose of this list is to showcase the films of that decade that had an impact on film and filmmaking. Return of the Jedi doesn’t really have that much of an impact on film or filmmaking as much as Star Wars or The Empire Strikes Back.
I completely agree. The Vietnam films of the seventies were better and have already been mentioned, plus Raging Bull is extremely overrated. Bladerunner is considered by many to be one of the greatest SciFi films of all time and it should definitely have made this list!

I agree with Top 1 but the rest, I would've had Scarface and Terminator in the list as well. Alien seems to be a bit too low. Besides that, glad to see those movies appearing on this list.
The Princess Bride has the best cast I've ever seen in the history of movies. I think it should have at least been an honorable mention, because that movie was just perfect.

i loved the outsiders
I honestly didn't like the Outsiders movie even thoe I really like the book. I feel like the acting wasn't as good as it could be. I also think that the choice to make the author of the book write the screenplay didn't pay off for this movie because it just feels like the exact same as the book, only rushed a little more. And it was a little disappointing knowing who directed it. But that's just my opinion.

EVERY decade has its share of benchmark motion pictures, but the 1980's has arguably the longest laundry list of classic and original films. There's so many great movies that this list didn't even mention: Full Metal Jacket, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Big Trouble in Little China, Top Gun, Predator, Flashdance, Robocop, Good Morning Vietnam, First Blood, The Secret of NIMH, Tron, The Untouchables, Big, Airplane!, A Christmas Story-- the list goes on and on and on! Maybe I'm just forgetting how influential the '90s and 2000's were in filmmaking, but we can at least agree that the '80s brought tons of stellar franchises that are still alive and well today. Bring on the next one, WatchMojo! :D

But the purpose of this list is to showcase the films of that decade that had an impact on film and filmmaking. Return of the Jedi doesn’t really have that much of an impact on film or filmmaking as much as Star Wars or The Empire Strikes Back.

I completely agree. The Vietnam films of the seventies were better and have already been mentioned, plus Raging Bull is extremely overrated. Bladerunner is considered by many to be one of the greatest SciFi films of all time and it should definitely have made this list!

So happy tons of my favourite 80’s movies got on the list. Empire Strikes back, Die Hard, Ghostbusters, Indiana Jones, and Back to future. I am happy terminator got on the honourable mentions by it deserved to actually be on the list.
I agree with Top 1 but the rest, I would've had Scarface and Terminator in the list as well. Alien seems to be a bit too low. Besides that, glad to see those movies appearing on this list.
