    Just an awesome car! Little details like the taillights make it perfekt! I'm at the beginning and wait for the Öhlins-suspension... ^^
    As you sad: after the first step... :-)

    I know this vid is about the Lotus Exige 460 (i have a stock Exige S S2, a bit tame compared to yours), but the single best piece of information is when you speak about lighting and shooting cars. I have a Insta channel and do stills and video on my Lotus club and my car (just for fun), it is quite difficult shooting cars. It is like a mirror, you can be in the shot, the lighting reflects, you need great angles, lighting is so important for auto shooting. Cars are not as simple as people think. It is about controlling the highlights and darks to give the right contrast.
    Nice car and Love the Exige, not a person to mod though, as I believe the Lotus cars are awesome out of the box, easy maintenance and fun for road use. Track use different. But yours is a real weapon...

      @BlatentlyFakeName 4 роки тому +1

      The old cars are quite a bit lighter and have no traction control though. None of the Exige/Elises are tame tbh :P

      Yes, people definitely don't understand how much goes into automotive photography. It's a real skill that takes time and practice to develop (also you need to be passionate about it). GF is definitely up there with the required skill. Lighting and composition is sooo important! In reference to his Exige...with the mods done to it, we can confirm it's absolutely savage...I was given a quick spin that day and it blew my mind!

    Let’s take one of the last pure manual transmission sports cars and put a ... DSG box in it.

    • @Tunawhore
      @Tunawhore 5 років тому +3

      last pure manual transmission sports cars? The "pure manual" box in the Exige is the 2.0 D4D diesel gearbox from the Toyota Avensis with bespoke cheesium internals shoehorned onto the 2GR-FE. It has no factory oil cooling solution leaving the only cooling to the casing of the gearbox. Once hot, internal component dimensions change so much that gears cannot be engaged. So heavy, unless on metal engine and transmission mounts de-selects gears and cannot re-engage gears until the car has finished cornering/braking.
      On what basis, are you calling it a pure manual transmission sports car? Have you called it so based on the car's looks?...

    I don't like black wheels on ANYTHING. First, they're a pain to keep from getting dusty just driving around the block. I'm old school. The first thing that goes thru my mind when I see black wheels is a 60s, 70s or 80s car that lost a hub cap. Everyone had hub caps and black steel wheels back in the day.
    If you drive around with a missing hub cap, people will automatic think you're poor & couldn't afford to get new hub caps replaced. It's just UGLY. PERIOD. It should always be in hyper silver at least. What a better way to show off your car in style. ;-)

    I hate black wheels. In fact I hate black wheels so much that I abhor any car that has them. Wheels are meant to compliment a car. I love the Lotus Exige minus the black wheels. They make the car look ridiculous.

    • @onlyforthedriven
      @onlyforthedriven  5 років тому

      That's alot of hate bro lol. To each their own I guess. For myself, I honestly don't mind the colour of the wheels whether silver, black or gunmetal. The design of the wheel matters quite a bit.

    • @ZoneTelevision
      @ZoneTelevision 5 років тому +1

      The Driven how can you appreciate the design of the wheel if it’s covered in black ? Especially at night. Black absorbs light meaning from a distance the wheel wells look like black holes. I love the car I just think it’s disingenuous to throw black wheels on brilliant design. Cheers. 👌

    • @onlyforthedriven
      @onlyforthedriven  5 років тому +1

      @@ZoneTelevision I do agree with you on that. I guess sometimes just for the contrast and aggressiveness black gives off a certain vibe. In terms of design, yes black does absorb the light and disguises the design, which isn't great. I guess gloss black would work better than matte black in that sense. Either way I know that black is on its way out as being popular whereas diamond cut faces and silver/polished are coming back into fashion. Black will always remain a choice though I think
