I'd love to see someone stick a hybrid FWD system in such a car. Like what the 918 Spyder has but then 6 years on. Many hybrid supercars get the hybrid power on the rear axle. It simplifies drivetrain integration efforts but you get less energy and acceleration for the weight increase.
With FWD add-on hybrid system, complex as it might be, torque vectoring, traction and acceleration, it really gets a good boost.
I'm still not convinced that P1 and LaFerrari were quicker than they would have been minus the hybrid package. Placing those on the front axle might have tipped the balance. Current tech is obviously lighter to achieve the same self generated energy and electric-only capacity.
Nothing against hybrid power on the rear axle, but it just doesn't get the same performance per kg added I fear.
I also miss the times when light cars were sub 1000kg. Now that we have smaller engines and decades of carbon fibre experience...why is a Lotus so much heavier than an Ariel or Caterham

Lotus is all about simplesty, lightweight pure driving adding a hybrid is adding complexity and weight
