- The limitations of the factory fit Harrop TVS1320 Supercharger to meet the performance demands of track enthusiasts created the need for an aftermarket kit with greater displacement and thermal efficiency for the 2GR-FE 3.5L V6 as used in the Lotus Exige.
Harrop first developed an OEM program TVS1320 supercharger system on the 2GR-FE V6 for TRD Australia in 2006. In 2009 we developed a variant for Lotus Cars UK for the newly released model Evora S and in 2012 the same engine package was offered in the award-winning Exige S which remains in production today as the Exige 350 and Exige 380 variants. With a wealth of experience supplying both OEM and Aftermarket supercharger systems, Harrop continues to engineer performance with a new supercharger system design for the stout 2GR-FE 3.5L.
This inverted positive displacement supercharger kit is engineered and manufactured by Harrop to OEM standards using Eaton R1900 TVS Technology. Featuring superior packaging and performance efficiency, this kit is available as both a Tuner Kit or Complete Kit with a supplied calibration, offering the Lotus Exige chassis the power and torque enhancement to maximise its very high-performance potential.

I think I would have went this route if it was released a few years beforehand. Very nice and simple over a turbo setup.
what gearbox mods are required for the 500hp E85 upgrade. i thought the cup 430 had maxed out what the gearbox can handle?

This motor gonna be used in new Lotus, it also gonna come with AMG's A45s 2.0 Motor with DCT,
I wonder tuned Toyota could outperform that AMG's twin turbo 2.0 Motor?
This supercharger is designed for the 2GR-FE? So that means it should be no problem putting this onto a Camry or an Alphard with the 2GR-FE V6, since those are also transversely mounted. Just have to resolve the packaging in the engine bay myself

So this works with is350. The toms kit has been discontinued. Only kits now are centrifugal no whine

@@r.a.p.k.models4160 All toyota / lexus engines are designed / engineered by Yamaha even the LFA V10. Yamaha used to make F1 eniges in the 90's and thier moto GP bike / engine along with Honda's are untouchable
@@JH-jo9wt i not sure ,i have seen documentaries saying ,yamaha work on cylinder head specifically and in certain amount of engine not all engines.
@@JH-jo9wtToyota mostly designs their own engines, Yamaha has only designed a few engines for Toyota (2ZZ-GE, 1LR-GUE) but they mostly just make the G heads for existing engines (2T-G(E), 4A-GE, 2JZ-G(T)E, 2UR-GSE, etc.). The 2GR has an F head so it's by Toyota

I’m wondering why they stayed with a positive displacement supercharger (Roots), when there is a more efficient option with a Whipple type that compresses the air and transfers less heat?

Why couldnt you have put this on the TRD aurion. Or atleast intercooled the one you went with... the heat pulls so much power out on the settup 😭😭😭😭

Because its an Aurion and after much discussion, it was decided there wasn't a large potential for the female market

Yes but there's no space for the intercooler cause the space is not much under that hood of that car.

I'm thinking 3.7 stroker (pankl has made one for an Aussie which had 800hp), tvs2650 pushing 18-19psi plus an interchiller which is an Aussie patent to freeze the Intercooler very cool shit pardon the pun. Komotec 7sp sequential or a custom lightweight HGT 6spd, and whatever lightweighting can be done which isn't much without spending massive dollars. But if you've got this Harrop kit with a forged 2gr you've got money anyways.

J H The small throttle body limitations aren’t doing this system any favors either. PD blowers are very sensitive to inlet restrictions.
Just run a smaller pulley... The tvs1900 can run boost in 20psi range. Throw some cams maybe some oversized valves and decent headers and you will crack 600+whp with just a moderate increase in boost. Granted your block n fuel system better be up to the task.
Great video! I had a TVS1320 on my 2ZZ engine Exige S and had a supercharger failure. Can it be rebuilt? Anyone in the US you would recommend to do that rebuild work? @harropTV

BadIsCompani I would agree with you 3 years ago but nowadays the ECU is tune-able. I have TwinTurbo mine ( 2GR-FSE ) and made 609whp/630torque 💪🏼💪🏼 however, I want them also to come up with a supercharger for GSF/RCF ( 2UR-GSE ).

If you have the 2GR-FE V6 powerplant I don't see why not.
I bet a gt3 running e85 NA would make similar power.
At peak rpm maybe if it was a built race motor, but you're likely looking at 100-110hp per liter max out of a NA Porsche motor, and that would be to the crank not wheel like the lotus in the video. Positive displacement superchargers also output good torque early in the Rev range. So power below peak rpm would be more substantial than on the Porsche.

Why would they waste time on someone who only has a budget to afford a Camry ? When you're driving a rc 350 with the same V6 they "might" care about your wallet more... I love the Camry my first car was a Camry. I love my rav4 V6 but I'm not asking performance shops to make me stuff for it because it's a rav4...

This, swapped with a k20-k24 or even better, a F20C from the s2000, would be my daily driver. I would not even add force induction. A toy for real men!

The F20C wasn't designed to be mounted transversely, so it would be extremely difficult to put one in this car. The K series is just as good anyway.
The old exige with 2zz-ge supercharged would be much more suitable for a k-20-k24 or a f20c swap.

It's designed for a Toyota V6 instead of trying to reinvent the wheel look at comptech they already make superchargers for the j35
Comptech is not in business anymore, I asked because of the way it mounts to the engine the j35 intake runners are very similar hence the reason for my question. I'm not sure how different the runners are so I figured the design could be made for a j series engine which would be amazing. I'd buy it for sure others would too
