GFWilliams this is very true, same here. When I am really stressed out or need to motivate myself I’ll go for a drive. Best part is when it’s golden hour, it’s just so unspeakably beautiful.
Money can distract you from unhappiness at best. But happiness or unhappiness is apart of who you are - it applies well before you lay eyes on your wallet of a morning.
Fair play mate, that is easily the sweetest Exige I've ever seen. Everything you've done has improved it, but it still looks OEM and doesn't scream mod.
I feel like today Lotus is the only brand that is making car that are meant to be driven and enjoyed and not just to show up your money in front of pubs. Incredible customisation, congrats!
Andre Tennis totally agree mate. People ask what car do wanna get if you get a few quid. I said one of these with the right power and mods these are pretty much amazing in every aspect. Brilliant car
This is likely the most impressive custom car build I have ever seen. Your taste for colors and creativity for fitment make this Lotus absolutely gorgeous, Lotus should be jealous. Every single detail on this car I love, it's jaw dropping.
Brilliant work. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for the Exige. My first contact with one was in the early 2000s when I started Kingston University. My campus had one in the reception area, it was donated by Lotus to the faculty as they were sponsoring some of the automotive engineering courses. Sometimes we got the chance to sit down inside. It was a car that I promised my self if I ever made it in life I would buy. Recently I popped back into uni just for old times sake to meet up with old friends and to reminisce about the good old days, was shocked to see the state that the little Exige was in. The university had not take care of it at all, there was moss growing in the window seals and you could see the rot had settled in the engine. There were cracks in the body and the paint was discoloured. Watching this video had triggered the urge to buy the old lotus and restore it to its former glory.
This guy is very dedicated to the cause. This guy makes a better car than most auto. manufacturers. I bet all the big nobs like Jay Leno would love this car. I love the Alcantara wraps and the Ferrari air vents. Personally I can't afford a Ferrari, but I feel I could stretch to four Ferrari air vents. @GFWilliams he made a very nice car
So rare to see a build finish up so clean and cohesive; just at a first glance it is obvious that a lot of thought and attention to detail were put into every change, you should be really proud of this build man!
That is an awesome build! Lotus is my favorite brand as they make exciting cars with so much emotion. I can't imagine the feeling you get when you walk towards your car. I bet you walk at half the speed just to cherish that moment even more.
Amazingly clean build. When I look at a car that’s done so well and so tastefully that the car looks stock to the untrained eye, that’s perfection. Every now and then my UA-cam feed offers up pure gold. Glad you popped up. Great car. I can’t say that enough.
Man its rare a car this modified still looks like it could be stock. Even the rear diffuser and front splitter are done tastefully. That custom shop your working with has great taste. Really spot on man well done.
It is not about how the car has driven enhancement or how it looks, it is all about how much effort you have put into it........great effort !!!!!!!!!!
Wow wow wow, I think this is one of the cleanest builds I've ever seen. On first glance you wouldn't think so much has been done to it but when you zoom in on the details it's so impressive. Every detail has been made perfect and its amazing to see how much work has gone into perfecting this car. I absolutely love it!
Thanks, it really is how I wanted it to be now, if you don’t know about Exige’s, you’d look at it and just think “that’s a nice Exige”. If you do know about Exiges you can spend a long time spotting the little improvements!
The amount of custom work is amazing. Usually such a heavily modified car can lose value but this has got to be a special piece that will be of great value to someone.
I didn't even realise how much you've done to this. Very nice mods. The longer I watch this video the more I appreciate the work put in and the insane amount of money too.
Magnificent machine George. Always nice to see someone with both the passion for a proper drivers car and the intent to drive it (rather than just garaging it). The custom spec is fantastic as well.
What a fantastic work man. It looks better than anything Lotus offers and that is crazy. Im blown away by this. You kept the Lotus spirit of keeping things simple and light but you managed to make it beautiful and extreme quality, something that Lotus still cant do. Enjoy it.
The interior is out of this world! When I saw the exposed gearbox linkage I was confused...because your Exige is older then when those were fitted. Good cal into explaining and nice it can be retrofitted!
It's very rare to come across such a heavily modified car and love everything about it but I think you're spot on about every little detail, it looks and sounds sensational. Never really wanted a Lotus but this car definitely changed that!
What a beautiful build. It's almost impossible not to do something to a Lotus-they are perfect platforms for taking it a step further. My '05 Elise was "perfect" when stock, but I kept doing just one more thing...
We own a new Alpine A110 but also looked into buying an Exige Cup 360 but I have to say, other than we would've wanted a LHD car (Germany), your Exige is perfection! Congratulations, amazing yet fasteful build!
Hell yeah, custom tricks from a Lotus owner ! I love your mirror design. I've never seen anyone brave enough to "cut up" a newer exotic before. You're obviously a true hot rodder.
What an amazing car. I wonder if anyone at Lotus cars has seen this video as the exposed gear linkage would be a great addition to the stock car. Great to have all of the modifications explained in detail. It all looks so good that it could almost be OEM.
One of the best Lotus looks wise I have seen. Visually, I am always put off by the wing mirrors Lotus usually choose. Your addition is much more attractive and suits the car.
Tasty upgrades! Really like the switch to Ferrari vents. You have definitely Made the interior beautiful with the diamond Stitch, Alcantara and carbon. Should have come this way from the factory. Wish we could still get those here in the states. I have always loved the Exige, it's definitely a giant slayer especially with the additional HP.
So cool to see you here and showing off your masterpiece! Looks EPIC and with such a good taste, considering so much mods, but that's where the magic is... So absolutely proud of you! Kudos! You keeping it for a good while i hope!
I've been a fan of your photography work for a long, long time. But I'm now also a fan of your car choices and mods, very very nice Lotus you got there. Keep the videos coming. :)
Amazing car! You did so much work on it yet you retained that factory feel in a way. It looks like it is supposed to be this way. Great job, hats off to you!
I get that you’re showing us the mods to the cars performance, but the look of this car is absolutely beautiful. Especially love the black and yellow 2 tone in the back. Also love the interior!
Been following you for a few years now, and love your work outside of UA-cam. I liked this video a lot! Hope you keep this up, with other sporty cars :)
Wow I really Love what you did to your Lotus. I own a 2012 500 Abarth in the States and love it. I’m constantly improving it like you did with the Lotus. You really did some excellent improvements and have a good eye for details. Your car looks so clean almost like you sent it out to a Lotus performance shop. Everything looks stock but much more upscale. Looks amazing. 👌🏻
I have seen your images around the web and have been pleased with what I have seen. But your modifying skills are high and tastefull, I love your dash and the sound is just awesome, has a bit of old lambo to the tune
Excellent video all around. I highly enjoyed getting to learn more about the Exige. I also really appreciate that you went in-depth with your explanations for each change. I can very much relate with your thought processes and decisions made. I would absolutely love to do something like this with my cars, present and future.
Thanks, it's sometimes difficult to know where to stop when modifying and how to keep things tasteful. I think I've managed to do it quite well, although I can't guarantee all future mods will be quite as restrained!
This gen Exige has always been one of my favourite cars overall, but seeing it modded this way puts it really near the top (if not at it). Really awesome taste!
As you said, a stunning colour from the start - liquid yellow (I’m a big fan of the Ferrari giallo triplo Strato). What a project. Absolutely love the level of detail you gone to in your modifications - so much so the quality is factory finish! Any videos on track or full exhaust noise?
Well done... Grreat first outing along UA-cam's super highway... Enough technical gumph to educate. Balanced by passion and structure that made for an enjoyable viewing...
It's a beautiful car and I would like the same Lotus. But komo-tec is only for the engine or also the exterior design and inside car ? For exemple the rear lights... Thanks you for you answer.
Honestly I dream of getting a Lotus Exige.... currently have a GT86 but your build has seriously inspired to get one ...one day hopefully. Sick car m8 🔥
Seen your car quite at quite a few events before lockdown & you ought to be immensely proud of what you’ve achieved, it’s stunning. Hopefully I’ll be able to say hi at an LDC event in the near future 🤞👍🏻
Such an amazing car. I'm blown away by Exige's now. This has to be the car I work towards. Well done mate, great vid!. My current project in a Mini Cooper S R53, in a very small similar way it's pretty raw as a hot hatch. I look forward to checking out your other vid on the Exige!
I hope you enjoyed the video, if you have any questions, please ask below and I'll do my best to answer!
what is the name of the lotus german tuner?
@@bigmike2148 Komotec
If Lotus copied your mods and had it on offer from factory they'd sell a lot of cars. It looks and sounds perfect(sure it handles as well).
How much did it cost all up. 100k?
Really beautiful building your car.
that has to be one of the most desirable custom interiors ive ever seen
This is the most beautiful lotus I’ve ever seen
Totally agree
Don’t ever let anyone say that money doesn’t bring happiness. This guy is loving life
My car is like my therapy, when I'm driving it or working on it, I'm happy and forget life's other problems...
GFWilliams this is very true, same here. When I am really stressed out or need to motivate myself I’ll go for a drive. Best part is when it’s golden hour, it’s just so unspeakably beautiful.
It helps for a bit. But once you stop chasing the dollar, existential crisis starts to kick in.
It doesn't bring happiness by itself, but you can have a Lotus that makes you happy every time you drive it
Money can distract you from unhappiness at best. But happiness or unhappiness is apart of who you are - it applies well before you lay eyes on your wallet of a morning.
This car is more unique than every limited car today
Fair play mate, that is easily the sweetest Exige I've ever seen. Everything you've done has improved it, but it still looks OEM and doesn't scream mod.
GreyMatr couldn’t agree more. It just looks so clean
I've followed you for years as a photographer, but today you showed me your eye when it comes to your own car details. And it is perfect
Thanks, I appreciate the support!
@@GFWilliamsnet I've followed you since I found a tutorial you did of a ferrari in a hanger. Years ago
Why hasn't lotus offered this guy a job, i'e never wanted a lotus more after watching something like this.
Holy shit dude, this spec is perfection. I've always found the Lotus interiors really off-putting, but this is remarkable. Kudos
The engine is the most off putting

Wow! Nice to see someone modify a car with aesthetic good taste firmly in mind! The air vents I completely ‘get’ and it was worth all the effort 👍
