    Tks to Chuck I just recently removed my Disc, bottom bracket and bottom hinge pin all in the comfort of my garage in about 30 minutes of labor👍(cost of parts $200) FYI....my local Brompton dealer downtown Chicago quoted me $600 - $1000 but wasn't totally sure what was wrong and wasn't even sure how to itemize and email me a Proforma Estimate 😂 Thank you Brian ❤ you just saved this DIYer a week's of wages 💪💪💪

    Hey, Brian. Thanks for featuring Freedom Folding bikes in your videos. I called their store about a seat post bung, and luckily they had it in stock. I ordered the bung and a bag. They shipped the same day and arrived 2-day priority. 👍👍

    Great film. Over time I’ve changed bottom bracket, new rear wheel plus other parts just with wear. Mechanical things eventually wear out with use, but the great thing is that they are usually fixable. Thanks for the film and thanks to Freedom Folding Bikes.

    As you readilly admit, you are hard on the bike, so perhaps Brompton can inlist you as a "Road Tester", supplying you with free bikes, and it will be another job, but one that won't involve extra time. Looks as though you already put in all the cycling time necessary.
    Pleased to see you got fixed up ok.
    Thanks again for sharing.

    Why don't Brompton supply the innards of the Sturmey gears? I've just had to do the same thing for one of my Bromptons... New 6 gear rear wheel... Had to wait months! What my shop in North London wanted to do was just swap the innards in the old rear wheel, but even though just one cog had worn out inside, I had to buy a whole new wheel and wait ages. Expensive! Now my other Brompton's got a similar problem. I can't remember when both Brommies have been usable at the same time.

    • @ibikeunfolded
      @ibikeunfolded  2 роки тому

      I hate to say it, but when sturmey archer was made in the UK it was of better quality. It seems since they are now made in Taiwan the quality has gone down. Just my observation.

    Great video. How did you get up to Boulder? Did you ride or did you fold the brompton and ride in a vehicle or transit? Good to see a sense of community between Brompton, dealers like FFB and customers.
