You explode well too, great job.
Actually, your singing was pretty special, too! Great collaboration.
So awesome that you had rachel on this video! i follow you both and use ableton for production and am a guitarist so this is like a dream video for me!
brother I know you guys hate self promotion so Im sorry but making covers take real long to make so I'd really appreciate a watch on mine. I understand if its too much to ask but thanks so much if you do : D

"If you don't make choices, nothing happens, it stays too vague" - Life advices from Paul Davids. 🤙
Best advice I heard from him.
Agree! I sat down the other day thinking maybe I'll try to write something n couldn't decide on a progression I like n ended up getting no where >.
Commit commit commit! Love this, thanks for reaffirming this mantra
Prince had the same concept. It's worth a watch. He was a musical genius! Oh....and could play a majority if not all in his songs. A legend no doubt!
This guy made me realize that being happy with my own playing and music is the purest form of musicality, and has brought me significantly further than the "i have to beat that guy" attitude
This felt like a Rick Beato's "What Makes This Song Great" episode in reverse.
Good one 😆
Lol
Rick needs too
This comment is perfect.
Great song this makes what
1:20 - "Just 4 chords isn't really a thing"
My entire UA-cam channel - *cries*
🤣
😂😂
Hey Andy!
Dang
"Letting it loop 1000 times before you decide it's time to move on to something different..." WOW did that hit home hard! 😂
"I'm not in touch with my feelings so I can't write lyrics..." Great lyrics ...
^... I might need to steal that...
Lol
The amount of joy that spread through my body when I saw this notification is insane! Great video as always Paul!
Dig you just SLAPPED the synth at 2:25 ?? OMG! This is epic!!
M i n d b l o w i n g
Slapp like NOW!
Epicc!
ThAt iS iLleaGal!
EPIC
Mind Blowing
After every video of yours I watch, I come out feeling enriched as a musician. I can barely keep up with all the new input I'm getting from you and trying stuff out but above all all else it's this zen Feeling of being in what we do you get across. Thank you for that!
AHHH! My EMOTIONS! I was unaware how much i loved this song until it really came to life with your vocals! BIG respect!!! BOTH of you!!. Thank you for freely teaching us so much paul!
This is gold! Most of the covers I post on yt are guitar loops, so thank you so much for the tips, Paul. Cheers!
Paul: "And now my favourite part"
Rachel: *stops singing*
Yeah, I noticed the same... lol
😂🤣😂 thought the same
Such a guy comment. 😄 You can almost hear the stuttered apology while she is stalking off.
Your videos are so inspiring! Been playing guitar for 10 years on and off and finally taking it seriously, learning to loop and enjoying the process wholeheartedly. Yours and Rachel's videos inspire me to keep going with it. Thank you!
right after this video I found myself whistling this song!!
paul, you are an insanely hard working and talented video producer and musician. Thanks for the videos, they are inspirational, and so good!!!!
Man it is so genuine how stoked you get about some of these guitar parts! Love seeing you get into the zone!
Classy choice of chords in the first place but then what you did with it was epic - I really wasn't expecting it to go down this particular route but I'm so glad it did. Amazing video again Paul!
brilliant demostration of how a song is produced, realy enjoyed the enthusiasm you bring to your videos and well spoken explanations about technique on the guitar, many thanks for the entertainment
Love your videos Paul! Will for sure be using these tips 🧙
I’ve listened to this full track on google play on repeat since yesterday-must’ve been 100 times. So good! Keep making tracks like this please!
Paul-I’ve been a subscriber of your channel for about 3 years when you had around 100K subscribers. I remember your video of the day you quit teaching guitar full time bc of your UA-cam success. I’m pleased that you are nearing 2 million subscribers. And great video on song recording. Keep up the work and best to you.
Simply amazing. Thanks for the pro tips! Most people listen to a song and they don't realize the work that goes into it. Great job. Love how it turned out! Added to my playlist
This is SO amazing Paul, thank you for all the incredible work and showing us the process!
Learned so much from you Paul and i really want to thank you big time.
Even when i am too lazy to try out your ideas, i still enjoy watching.
All the best for you, keep rocking!
Paul, been watching your channel for a while now, and what you're doing, on a scale of 1 to 10... is an 11. Came across this video yesterday, and I cannot get the hook from sugar coated out of my head. Super solid. Here's to your continued success. Thanks for putting out such great content.
Therapist: Rockstar Paul isn't real, he can't hurt you
Rockstar Paul: 0:08
Love the song by the way, can't stop listening!
He's hotter when he's in rockstar mode not gonna lie, I mean he's hot in any mode but rockstar mode is my favorite.
That was a awsome performance!! Congrats Paul and Rachel, what a video fellas!
Great job! Rachel's live looping sessions are mind blowing
Dude, you killed it. She is amazing! I'm jamming it now and will spread it! Love all of it, from the process to the final product, fun video and great song man! Very inspiring!
I've downloaded the Song at Spotify and i can't Stop listening at it🥳♥️ such a great Job!!!! It inspires me to make my own Thing and start to build a Home Studio!!! I Love you Paul!!! You are the greatest
As soon as you played the chords I was already vibing with the song. And I'm not even past the minute and 40sec of the video. I love this!
Damn this song is stuck in my head for days now. Amazing outcome as always, congrats Mr. Paul!
thanks for sharing this man, so interesting to see the process and just joyful to see your pride about the final product too.
What a video! You're so talented Paul. I'm in love with that song.
This is a great video and very motivating. I so often fall into the trap of creating a loop of a basic chord progression, layer it a bit and that’s where it stays, so this is great stuff. That finished tune sounds awesome, radio-ready and the guitar work in that track is on fire.
Wat een baas! Genieten om met je mee te mogen kijken! Keep it up man!
Paul, you look so happy and that makes me happy. Ive never seen you this happy!! Woooo!
as someone who generally don't listen to synth pop, i admire music too much to know this really sounds dope! im a huge fan of guitar solos and you really killed it!! the tone of the guitar is legitimately thrilling! thanks for the very informative and fun video mahn
Paul looks GENUINELY sooooo happy when he's listening to this song..... It's good to see peeps proud of there skills. And quite right. Nice work dude... It's a CHUAN..... Really enjoying your vidz.... I've got a ton to watch coz I've only just found your channel.........
Bought the track. Loved the song!! I’m a huge The Midnight and Starcadian fan and this definitely fits into my listening style. Thank you Paul!!
One of the most interesting video I ever seen! You are talant! Thx 4 lesson, man. That hook stuck in my head :D
I really enjoyed this video. The tips and the motivation to finish projects hits at a really good time. Great work.
love the piece by piece explanation and build up. finished article is now on my playlist, and have subscribed to Rachel K's channel.Love your channel, thanks Paul
Thank you Paul for showing us your enormous level as a guitarist, you are really very good at everything.
Geweldige muzikant die Paul ! Zeer inspirerend en nog meer plezier om dit te mogen zien.
Love seeing you enthusiastic over the song - A for effort!
Thanks! I really, really needed this. I'm always getting as far as getting the basic structure of my loop, and starting to add things...and then I get sick of it and shelve it. My sketch library is full of these little things that I never want to go back and finish.
I'm going to take the lessons from this and push through.
Great stuff! Inspiring to see the process from beginning to the end. Fab collab with RKC! And great synths!
Yup. Biggest tip is FINISH STUFF!! Makes such a difference. Something released is better than a folder full of ideas. Good stuff as always Paul! Thank you
i started this lockdown with an acoustic and an amp......since ive added a loop pedal,a drum kit(my bros) and a telecaster!! a Daw is next. cant wait to record. Great videos keep them coming
Amazing video Paul! BTW, what a voice!! Rachel sing soooo well!
You are my fav music youtuber, Paul. Thanks for the videos.
Came here from RKC, loved this video and subscribed, now going to watch your others. You inspired me to want to play guitar again (after 7 years of not), as soon as things go back to normal I'm getting my guitars out of storage. Thanks 🙏🙌
Awesome tips Paul. Very cool stuff and your talent level is off the charts. Thank you.
0:27 "Letting it loop for 1000 times". I call that 'the intro'
What a great lesson on how to work with looped parts. That helped me a lot! And the track is amazing!
The first and last step are so crucial. Thanks for the great content! Can’t wait to show my guitarist
I have been using Ableton for few years and have some song ideas in my RC-30. This video just motivates me to actually put the ideas together to Ableton. Thanks Paul!
Have a nice time in your new space, man!
Support to you and Rachel...
Congrats Mr.Davids, such a beautiful song!!!even today i listen this song and makes me feel good...love your channel..greeting from Romania
Feels kind of like you're channelling Jimi at the beginning, but Jeff possesses you half-way through. What a song, got it on loop! You two... dream team 🙌
You are amazingly talented, thank you for sharing this. Respect 🙌👊
Hi Paul! I love these videos where you work through a building process from simple start incrementing to higher levels or more details. I find them both helpful and inspirational. Please consider doing a tutorial on how to (starting equipment and basic techniques) set up video & audio recording of guitar and accessories in a small space to help us present to or collaborate with others. For example if I want to show off a new guitar, or walk through a pedalboard setup, or get critiques on some particulars of my playing.
Paul you work so hard and you are a God and a good guy. Man I just hope you get all the success that you deserve.
From the heart bro.
Thanks for another great video Paul. So looks like you're well settled into your new space. Looks great but it's time for a studio video tour!!!
Paul this is fantastic!!!! Well done to you both!!!👏😉🥳🎶
Crazy stuff, man! It looks so dope and easy what you are doing. But I guess this is just years of experience... and huge portion of talent. Great techniques, cool song.
I slapped LIKE as soon as I saw “SLAP”.
But I would have slapped like anyway, great video, great tips, GREAT SOLO!! Thanks, Paul!
Recently discovered your channel and really digging your videos and relaxed welcoming vibes, not to mentions the production and clean presentation. Hope your handling the lockdown well dude, thanks for the vids!
Wow, this is amazing! I learned a lot from the process, thanks Paul 🙏
Paul...you are such an inspiration to me...! Love playing guitar, but it's hard to get into the practice... BUT this kind of pure content always makes me grab my guitar and play!
Love love love - Paul, as a NLG student I’d SO be grateful to see a video on your Mixing process like you aludes to in this song. Regardless, thank you!
More people should be listening to this channel, very informative, and honestly, for someone like me, I don't play guitar but I just enjoy watching him discuss his craft. My daughter is learning guitar, but she's not good enough to do any of this yet.
I just got an audio interface and ableton live lite. Best decision I‘ve made in a while!!
Thanks for all the inspiration Paul!!
You gave me at least 7 tips, and more inspiration! :-) Thank you!
Killer song and video! Thanks for all this information and inspiration Paul!
Oh man!. . .just as I was thinking about the song lacking some awesome guitar solo, there it was exactly as I was craving for it as I watch. . .wow, david, it is just absolutely awesome. . .nice, really nice. . .
Man this so good! Either as single in its own right or maybe even a theme to a movie or TV series; love it!
Thanks, Paul! Great timing: I was planning to spend the weekend playing with my looper :)
Awesome to see someone making guitar fresh, fun, and contemporary.. brilliant video ideas man \m/
Crushed it! Great suggestions, and epic result. Thanks for the tips
Two great videos for anyone interested in writing and recording. Great sounding finished song well done to the two of you. Hope it succeeds for you.
You make magic, Paul! Fantastic!
Hi Paul, Great track, wonderful guitar solo !!! I'm your big fan. Thanx a lot for inspiration. Warm regards from Poland.
My ohhh my! Beautiful from concept to finish! And within giving of craft on so many levels. Thank you David from me and everyone I will tell. As always,
I am inspired. Will put Ableton Live together and get to the store for this. Thanks! Wow!!!
Ill be humming this song for a few days...just catchy!! great job sir
Absolutely amazing. Inspiring aswell, although I still suck at guitar I feel to urge to try some things myself.
Also I see what you did there with the "slap"😉
I love your music and how you approach things! I am a bassist and music composer and not a guitarist but lovr your channel a lot. I use the same technique you have described, man your music is awsome! I only ask one thing from you: a video about how to record instruments correctly on any DAW and the correct levels of volumes, effects, rooms... Keep up the good work mate! You are a true inspiration
Paul, I just wanted to say your channel is awesome. Like a lot of my fave UA-camrs, it's all about the person being real.
All your videos and music are really awesome . One of the best content on UA-cam . Thank you
Paul, sorry I’m late getting to this video. It’s awesome! If you haven’t tried the Ditto X4 by TC Electronic there is a feature you might enjoy. It’s a fade feature. Every time you record a new layer the oldest layer drops off. Newer layers lower in volume. This was something Steve Morse suggested to them. You can essentially keep a song going and evolving indefinitely. It’s an amazing practice tool, it keeps your creativity juiced up, and it’s just a lot of fun. As a solo musician it’s a nice way to sit in a corner and play music for a crowd at an art gallery, private party, busking or just impressing the ladies. If you haven’t already give it a try.
As always, a great video. Thanks for putting the time into these........ nice.
Downloaded Sugar Coated and have played it on repeat. Great tune!
this video is so useful for me. I just bought a looper pedal!
Such an amazing song, and it was nice to see how it was constructed. Paul, you do a great job explaining your methods and demystifying songwriting. I CANNOT get the the hook out of my head. Darn you!!! :^D
Dude... Don't ask me how or why but when that guitar lead came in I got choked up and covered in goosebumps.
This is being added to my playlists NOW!
Thanks, Paul for this helpfull advice... working hard on our first live-looping song...
You’re the man! Your tips are great and make me grow so much. Thanx!
This track feels good to listen too. Love it man.
Great suggestions - and love your pedal board! Also that Hook amp!!! 😍
