- Review / First impression about the newest Cheyenne Machines - SOL LUNA and SOL TERRA.
UPDATE : Few artists have contacted me to let me know that RPG CLICK GRIP works perfectly with these machines. (I got my grips and Vice connector when FK irons first realised them, possibly they are slightly different now.)
So other grips (including disposable ) should fit with your machines!
Let me know if you have any questions in comments.

The speed of the solid black is insane. Amazing review, thank you
Thanks for the info Anrijs, your videos always answer the tattoo equipment questions I have .
As always, great video my friend. Very honest and straight forward review. Your work is amazing. Cheers.
Thanks for this review! Much more in depth. My thunder has been my daily for 5+ years now so really considering these two.
Always the best reviews bro. So comprehensive
Sol terra one of the best tattoo machines out there , I’m about to order sol Luna thanks for the great video blessings from Washington USA 🇺🇸
U need to get sol nova unlimited with 4 mm stroke it's like a wireless sol terra I swear it has the modes as well
Dude your work is bigtime inspiring.
You inspire me everyday man honestly please come out with some more content it really helps and I also enjoy it! 🖤🖤🖤
Super helpful review! Thanks man!
Thanks once again for your review
I seen your work it's cool and i thank you for everything I'm learning alot I have been told I would never make it but the love of my life my husband said I can do it
Thankyou for your kind words ! And Good LUCK !!!
The sol terra is my favorite machine it runs amazing and the sensi drive is perfect.
nice to hear! I just ordered one & am excited how it feels. i started tattooing 2013 with the hawk thunder. do you leave it one sensidrive all the time or switch within session?
MambusBambus I use it on sensi drive for everything
doesnit work with another powet supply ? i have eikon
AWLTATTOO INSTA FB it works on any power supply
thanks for the review
Thanx for that.Just wondering if you introduce the swashdrive vader soon maybe..
Hello, just saw you channel few days ago, thanks for your videos, I'm learning a lot!
Also I'm starting my journey in the tattoo world, but idk what machine to buy. Defenitely I want the fk irons rpg grip like you mencion in your videos... I'm thinking on buying cheyenee thunder or, sol luna, sol terra, or fk irons specktra edge x. Wich one do you recommend me? First I was planning on buying the thunder because of the price, but idk, I want one machine to do everything...
Best regards
Nice machine master 😍
Ohhhhhh.. Njomn. Thanks for your vid
Maybe Cheyenne should look foward into modernizing their grips🤷♂️
Hi Anrijs! I'm from Latvia. 🤟Would you recommend purchasing AliExpress and what equipment?
I use already the Sol Teera and I love it
do you recommend it for color ?
yes with direct drive
Your work is awesome boss, what machine do you recommand for begginers, rotary or coils??
depends on what kinda work artist is looking to learn / achieve .
For the sol terra what vols do you use lining, shading, dotwork, full black and colour packing??
When u saw hawk machine are u referring to the pen ? The first one tht came out ?
I have the sol terra I use the fkirons grip you just need to get the vise from fkirons tell them you need it for Cheyenne they know they will send you the right one
Hi Anrijs.wich one would you prefer?sol terra or sol nova?
Máquinas muito boas
i bought sol nova, now this two machines? ill wait until they make both in one machine. i dont like setting up alot of machines, cleaning alot of machines. one machine is enough i think... i think cheyenne is going to come out with a diferent one again.
I have the sol terra and an old thunder. So confusing switching between the two as the voltages are different im guessing due to different motor
Now I got a ful set.sol terra,sol luna,sol nova unlimited.
Hi there im a big fan, and since u used xion spektra and these cheyenne, what is the best machine in your opinion?
What is best in my opinion might not be best for you or others.
I do like xion allot, I use it almost every day. Theese are awesome too. I'm not the best at comparing things, I think if you are good artist any machine will work.
Hello! You think Sol Luna is more soft than bishop shader?
Just watched your Spirit review! Do you feel out of these 3 machines, would be good for dot work? Specially SMP head tattoos? Thanks!
Sol terra & spirit hawk best
Sol terra
Cool ascent where are you from
Which cables are u using?
I hace the sol nova , bit i dont feel comfy with línea, do you recomend the sol Terra for lining And the sol nova for shading? :)
I try not to recommend machines as it's different for everyone. and what works for me might not work for others. but I do think sol Terra is better for lines than sol nova or sol luna. If you need a good liner machine, best is to go with some coil machine :)
I done last tattoo video with cheyenne sol terra, it was ok but this machine needs time to warm up with it. This machine have power! =
What would you recommend for a beginner with small hands? I'm just starting, no apprenticeship yet but I want to get started learning and working with reel skins etc.. etc.. So I can get used to the machine in my hands. I have pretty small hands sadly. So i need something comfortable without a giant grip.
I wouldn't recommend for you to start tattooing without apprenticeship. it could be dangerous for your customers and yourself too. and even harder to find any apprenticeship if they know you tattooing somehting already, as you can pick up bad habits / techniques like that.
No need to rush in it. Just continue to draw , study art and create great portfolio to get apprenticeship. Good Luck
@@AnrijsStraumeTattoo Thanks for the info, I wouldnt plan on tattooing anyone until I get an apprenticeship. I just want to have all my ducks in a row. So when I walk into the shop i'm working with i will have all my certifications licenses and equipment ready to go. And maybe practice on some reel skin. :)
I still don't think you should get machine before. for example you get rotary machine. but studio you will get apprenticeship is all traditional artists using coil machines only. They would teach you according to that. or other way around. I don't think smaller hands would matter what machine choice it should be. Nowadays there's light coils and rotaries and you can get small grip too.
Good Luck
Hello!
If Terra and Edge X which one you prefer?🙏(black and grey work)
Hard to tell right now, I haven't used EdgeX for more then 2 years. don't even remember how it works. I've done so much work with edge around 150+ tattoos maybe. but with terra only 10-15. If only thinking how machine hits the skin, right now I would say - terra or even Luna ( for black and gray ) but overall I would prefer to have edge, it's more versatile machine, with rca connection, what's a big + for me.
I feel like Cheyenne and fkirons are rivals what could you say about fkirons
Which one is better for dotwork? 😊
Sol Terra will have better punch and longer stroke for good dots !
Why is the motor only 3v
Will you review the axys valhalla?
I don't have that machine. if I will get one then yes.
@@AnrijsStraumeTattoo thank you
Where can I find those colored ones everywhere only offers black
they are beta / test machines. you cannot buy them I believe, only black ones. but colour is no difference in machine performance. good luck
Are your face tattoos made by brutal black project?
For soft shaiding sol luna is Beter or inkjecta flite nano???
I would go for Luna.
How did he get that color? I only see them selling in black??
it was test versions of the machines..
The sol terra is the best machine I've ever used. The sensidrive is amazing. Everything is a single pass for the most part. Using with the Fk irons ergo click grips. Can't say enough good about this machine. Even at a 4mm stroke with sensidrive you can easily get smooth shading. Clients are saying the pain is less and the tattoos are healing super fast.
that's awesome ! thanks for feedback ! Really you are using it with Click Grips ??? that's crazy , what vice/adapter you have with it?
I had 3 separate one - RPG Click Screw on connector, what I bought when they just came out, they didn't work with my machines. (might be they are little different now then 2 years ago...not sure)
I tried one from edgeX machine too and didn't work.
Only thing what worked was vice from inkjeckta nano and holder from Fkirons. but that's impossible combo, means I need to buy separate machine just for extra vice..
Anrijs Straume Tattoo ya I purchased the darklabs vice nut along with the sol terra at needle supply here in the US. It locks down super tight. Theres pics on my IG Dantrn.fleshwoundtattoo. The disposable click grips from Fk irons work as well. I have the peak axi grip on the way to see if it works since I'm sponsored by peak.
Anrijs Straume Tattoo I tagged you on the Instagram pic and video.
Thankyou , I will update info in description about it.
Is that still working?
Question is ur sol terra louder then your sol luna?
Both are about the same. no noticeable difference.
what do you do with your grips once you finished ? these grip are hallow, you cant clave them, i mean you can, but the autoclave wont be able to
I autoclave them. I'm not a scientist, but it's a Heat autoclave what will burn everything I believe.. in the ''hallow'' part there shouldn't be any inks/liquids.
and it's still Million times safer then using coil machines , where ink can spit all around coils and none can autoclave anything..
but anyway , I don't like using Cheyenne grips due to that reason. I use darklab Click grips, you can take them apart and it's Compatible with autoclaves and cold sterilization!
@@AnrijsStraumeTattoo
this doesnt requiere a PHD
first, it apply heat and pressure
any hollow instrument will never be sterile because of the precedement of heat + pressure.
read autoclave manual: dont stack pouches ////Pouches dude, dont stack em' cuz rhw pouches will impaired the PRESSURE ...
pouches of papers...
vs hollow instrument of aluminium
BWAHAHAHA you shit aint sterile
hollow intruments are simply a no go in the medical/dentistry industry, vacant, absent..
cuz this shit dirty
but here, mister x-ray eyes, KNOWS that his push bar is 100% sterile, cuz his xray eyes KNOWS his cardriges never leaked...
try fk iron, this at least is sterile (cuz not hollow)
again, you aint requiere a god damn phd to understands that.. stop the act.
$1700 for both?
Wow, i love this new Format... simply talking a bit you know? Amazing... keep it up.... 3 Questions:
What is the Machine(s) you are usually working with?
What happened to your left Arm? Got it lasered? looks extremly bleached...
What do you think about Stigma Machines... or Swashdrives? Have a good one! :-)
ussualy I work with FKirons Xion . but recently love Sol nova machine and these two too, I use them allot now.
last stigma I had vas hyper V2 I think 7 years ago. and Swashdrive Click around 8 years ago.. I don't think much about those machines and can't comment.
Swashdrive whip maybe. Sd click not exist.
@@AnrijsStraumeTattoo will either of these make you change from the xion.???
hahaa. yeah click . can't even remember what it was called how long ago it was.
possibly. I love how easy xion grip is to clean/autoclave , so that's big + for me.
I'm still trying these ones, as I mentioned in video they do feel somehow differently to other machines. Hit in the skin is different, I'm still trying more to work with these and to figure out if that's somehting I would prefer or not.
You can use a grip from FK Irons, you just need the RPG click screw-on vise:
www.fkirons.com/blogs/videos/new-rpg-click-screw-on-vise-connector-compatible-with-hawk-inkjecta-available-at-fkirons-com
Thankyou ! yes I already edited that information in video description almost straight after uploading that video.
what is the music on background?

@@AnrijsStraumeTattoo i love it man
@@AnrijsStraumeTattoo sounds a lil like Amenra. listen to Amenra - Ritual
But basically spektra edge x is both of this machines in one..
tattoocream edge x doesn’t compare, these are quieter, vibrate less, have less voltage drop, and they’re more durable.
@@seanthetattooartist1670 and vibration on edge x is so strong that justifies buying two separate machines?
it's completely different to spektra edge x. Almost any other machine is completely different to edgeX. You don't need justification to buy two machines. no one is forcing anyone to buy anything. if you are happy with your Edge x (or any other machine) That's awesome! keep it up! But there's people who are looking to get new machines and there's also people who don't own edgeX and looking to get new machine, also there's people who work only with cheyenne machines for 10+ years and they are interested to find out more about these machines and possibly get one too!
@@AnrijsStraumeTattoo First of all what you are doing on this channel is great job, showing peoples now machines etc. . Point of my story is that tattoo industry is becoming as mobile phone industry. Companies are changing really small things in tattoo machines and advertise that as BIG thing. After 15 years of tattooing i can for sure say that you dont need new machine every year. If person know to tattoo he will do great job with just coil machine. Not to mention that machines are nowdays really overpriced. I am not trying to insult anyone, i am just saying my opinion. In previous conversation he said that "the have less vibration", did we become so picky about that small details so we will spend more money on something that we don't need?
@@tattoocream yes. it is, in tattoo indusrty new machines / needles / inks / cup holders / grips etc weekly. but if you look the work what was done 15 years ago and what level it is now then you can see how all those tiny changes and things made a huge difference. Of course there are always tattoo prodigies, what did mind-blowing work close to todays level even 15 years ago too... it's same in ANY industry, not only tattoo industry. new scissors everyday for barbers too , and still people will buy them and use them, even tho it's just a scissors right ? No need for new tattoo machines if you are happy with everything. personally I'm always looking to get something new what could help my everyday work. even tho I can do almost exactly same work with any of machines I have. but still science and tech guys are working crazy on bringing out new and new updates in any industry. soon everything in tattoo machines will be wireless, with apps installed directly to power supply. do we need all that ? probably not, but It will again create next thing and open doors to many possibilities in future..
if you compare these two machines to Edge then yes, it will be more vibration. for me or you might not be any difference. but I believe it could be to some artist. I don't think edge X was vibration is unreasonable or even close to coil machines. (what can affect hand health in long term and has damaged many artist's hands when working 20+ years with coil machines...)
This should be quick. Here is 2 more machines from Cheyenne to fuck you over with on price. Why not just make one machine with 2 cam options and the one switch that gives all 4 options. But no they know you can't buy one without the other.
I don't know why just not make in one machine. I don't build machines. probobly it's not that easy to keep the quality with tons of adjustments on machine. I don't think there's any machine where you can just change cam with switch..
yes there's machines where you can swap to different cam. but if you want to use both different cams in one tattoo many times , that will be multiple times changing cams, screws etc.. ... so anyway you'll have to get 2 machines.
and YES, you can buy one without other. depends on what you looking to get.
same like with any other machines , there's liner's / shaders / colour packers etc... so 3 machines already.
+ There's Million machines out there without cam changing options/ and give adjustments... and almost every tattooer on the planet has more then one machine anyways.
I bought these today coz Cheyenne has 40% discount for luna and terra, 269 each, hurry up! 😂
How do you like these? I have the regular Sol Nova but I'm considering getting a dedicated liner/Packer and shader.
So 800 dollars to have a machine that can only shade....
do you even listen or know anything about machines? how can you even think that? xD
Pirmais
Sry...vollkommen daneben.
