Jenna Rainey greetings! I would like to know how to paint flowers far away. I’m doing a glitter water color landscape and I saw the hills in your book I’m working through but I need more ideas for how to make flowers look realistic far away and even closer, but not a close up detailed flower. I also have a fun thing I do I’ve been wanting to share with you Will do in separate comment
I actually painted a small portion of the composition and after a lot of attempts ended up with one I am pretty happy with. You always give the color formulas, tips on strokes and brushes to use. I have finally built up some of that muscle memory you often talk about and along with your leaf tutorials can do a decent C stroke and leaves that go along way to accomplishing a painting. Thanks so much for sharing - I have learned so much from you!! Merry Christmas!
Oh my god thank you so much for this video. Sorry a bit late been a busy day. love the flowers in the background so satisfied with how my roses are turning out now. your voice makes me want to paint.
Yea! You're back. I have missed your sweet laughter and giggles the most. I'm going to paint this until I get it right. I'm happy to see you back. God bless you dear heart.
@@LCLand Yes... times have changed for the nation and the world. Patience is golden. She doesn't reply to everyone like she used to. :( but, that's ok....she's busy. I used to look so forward to a reply from her. She was my fave. Hope all is well for her in her new location and place in life.
@@LCLand I think she said she moved that's why she was not on YT for a while. I love her! SHe's my first teacher and will always have my fave status. I also love to watch Clarice Gomes. She's sweet and like Jenna, she takes time to connect with others.....through email and instagram and Clarice on FB too. I have to say that that personal touch has been so helpful to me.
Thank you from Dana Point! I love your videos where I can just ENJOY playing with painting! It's such a wonderful peaceful escape from the craziness around us.
As a beginner, I just love how you make watercolour so accessible... I bought your book, and although I love every step in it, I’ve been feeling discouraged lately, my leaves are not as nice as I want...But coming on your channel brings me hope. I think I’m just going to persevere, re-do all the steps and practice the techniques you teach in your first book...I’ll keep you posted! Thank you 🙏 so much Jenna, you’re a gem 💎!
Oh keep painting, keep persevering!! You can do it! It took me a long time to get to where I am at and I am still learning everyday! Just build that muscle memory, make sure you have some quality supplies, and don't forget to enjoy your time painting (even if you don't like the outcome). With each time you paint, whether you like the outcome or not, try and learn from what you've done. Keep it up and happy painting!
Jenna Rainey thank you 🙏 so much Jenna, your feedback helps a lot. I try to paint everyday, especially at night, when everyone is sleeping and it’s peaceful. I put some calm music, and just relax. I looove Everyday Watercolor. It is so well written, like you’re sitting right next to me, teaching me! Again, much gratitude 🙏 Blessings to you and your family!
This piece is gorgeous Jenna! Such surprising colors. So beautiful! Congratulations to you and your family for surviving another move. Your video space is lovely.
I am so happy you are back and thanks for sharing this Tutorial..I really missed you in the last few weeks..v nice information on composition and concept of c curves and a curves..much love ❤️❤️
Missed you so much but you look well rested 😊. I love the tutorial as I struggle with composition and where to put the bits. I have been practicing daily so this video really helps. Blessings!!
Yay!! You're back! I love your podcast and courses but I was hoping you'd do more floral tutorials on composition, and you read my mind :D Thanks Jenna!
Hey friend!!!! So happy you are back. I’ve missed your tutorials. Loved this one!!! My cup of tea!!! I have another new brush Princeton of course so it’s not as smooth as it should be but it’s beautiful to use!!!! As always. Happiness sent from England xxxx
Jenna Rainey My everyday watercolour book arrived today along with another 4 Princeton brushes. I love painting so much!!! It was the best thing I could have done in these crazy times. Always know you are a true inspiration!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.
This is so helpful!! I want to get more confident with loose watercolor and your videos are very helpful! Thank you for sharing this as well as your books, Everyday Watercolor!
I've had my eye on one of the Sylvan Clayworks palettes but haven't bit the bullet yet, mostly because my cats like to tramp over everything including paint left out to dry. Love your videos & recommendations. I recently got some sumi ink and the Boris Marker Layout pad, and they work so great together to practice over your calligraphy practice pad!
I see the colors listed in the description but could you tell us the colors that are being used in this painting please? Thanks so much love all your work, great channel.
Thanks for watching and commenting, Leslie! I usually call out colors, sorry if I didn’t in this one. I use opera rose and scarlet lake for my red flowers, if that’s what you’re wondering,
Very nice! Tried to follow you but had to stop three-fourths of the way as it became so overwhelming to me. It’s nice to see the variations in the colors of the flowers and leaves. I was wondering what the green color in your pallet was just above the sap green.
Enjoyed your lesson! Thank you so much! I don't think that you put the link for the new watercolor palette. When I clicked on the link for watercolor palette, it takes me to Amazon for the plastic palette. But maybe you have it, and I just don't see it. Thanks.
Beautiful cheerful painting. Exactly what we need right now. Btw, love the artwork on your wall and the paint colour on your wall. What white did you go with?
Beautiful! I think this is my favorite so far. Ok. I do have a question. I'd like to add some cat-tails to some of my arrangements. I used real ones when I worked as a florist. My question is how would you paint a cat-tail?
What I may like even more than your painting is the sound of your brush hitting or being tapped on the edge of your water container! I cant quite seem to get that wonderful clanging sound...
Hello Jenna! Thanks a lot for this amazing tutorial:) I am a beginner. I have been watching your tutorials and I have started to have an idea about the color theeory and the main brush strokes. Now, after watching your video here, I think I got an idea about the size of the flowers in general but ı cannot decide the size of the leaves within the composition, therefore my leaves remain stoic and static.... to add, would you like to make a tutorial on cute animal illustrations for the nursery. Warmest wishes from Turkey:)
Hey! Thanks for watching and commenting. As for the leaves, if you need any help painting them, make sure to check out my leaf playlist. Just practicing and working on different leaves may help you get a little more comfortable and fluid with different types and sizes! Keep up that practice and build the muscle memory, and also, if your leaves are looking stoic/static, make sure to remember to vary the color a bit too -- that adds a lot of depth and dimension that may help. Cute animal illustrations -- GREAT idea!
Yaaaaaaayyy this was sooo awesome! And these tutorials are sooo useful to me because I am DEFINITELY an overthinker 🙈🙈🙈 I'm turning my watercolor set into a palette I identify with to see if that helps, but where I live is very difficult to find professional paints 😢 What about a sort of loose city/town landscape tutorial?
Your Pthalo Turquoise is SO much lighter than mine. Mine almost looks the same as Prussian Blue. Did something change? I'd much rather have the hue that you have
I love your way of teaching, the only problem is someimes its too fast I can not paint that quickly also I am left handed so I have to turn it around in my head. Any suggestions?
Maxine Carrizzo Maxine did you know that you can slow the speed to .25, .50 or .75? I do that so I can follow along. On my iPad it’s the three little dots on the right hand side. Touch it and you get lots of options. I hope that helps. 😀
I painted with you last night using this tutorial. My larger flowers are still a challenge. Is there a way to share our work with you if our Instagram is not public? I liked this tutorial very much.. I like painting a full sheet. I am looking for a tutorial on aspen trees and robin birds if you are looking for fun ideas for painting topics.

Hey! Thanks for watching! Let me know your thoughts on this video and any ideas or suggestions for future tutorials! Happy painting! xoxo
My grandmother has been a florist since the 60s and this is her favourite floral spray bouquet. Very beautiful composition

Beautiful, loved the colours you chose especially contrasting leaves.
Please could you do a tutorial on sweet peas please x
Oh sweep peas, I can try to fit those in sometime soon!
So beautiful 😍 where is the palette from where you are mixing your colors? It’s so nice!
