Consider using stainless steel rivets. My bed is currently 15 years old but was painted at around 13 years ago and they removed the door latches at that time and reinstalled them with aluminum rivets. Those rivets have now deteriorated to the point that they’re pulling apart. Otherwise, great job on some tedious work.

Hi. Enjoyed the video, especially when the little kiddo came in. I need to build a backpack toolbox for my utility body. There's a 18 in gap bewteen the cab and the beginning of the utility body. I've been looking for ways to build the doors and I like yours. Couple of questions: What did you use for size angle where the door sits into. Looks like 1"x 1" or maybe 1.5" x 1.5". Also what did you use for the frame of the actual door. Lastly what did you use for the gasket. Thanks in advance. Scott
Boys you need an evolution chop saw. if your wanting a skill saw im not the biggest fan of that one. my father in law has a makita 7-1/4 metall skill saw that is hands down incredable. we have 1/4" with it no problem
Really like this bed build bud, like watching your videos, will you have blue prints to this build would like to build something like this for my 1/2 ton?

You got some cool style in that bed. A welder builds his own...

I haven’t used a gasket yet. I need to buy they have been staying pretty dry.
I believe the anlgle iron was 1.25x1.25
Do you look like your evolution chop saw , is the circular saw you cut the plate with a evolution saw as well ?
Yes, talk about the circular saw. First time I've seen this used! You say 10 ga. for panel. What max ga. will t saw cut?

I have Fein Slugger Chop saw and 7-1/4 metal skil saw. Both cut 1/2 plate steel like plywood. Game changer.
Looking sharp have a great thanksgiving be safe.
