- This is the last installment of renovating a 1999 ambulance and converting it into a custom RV.
Take a tour with me of the completed conversion. We are ready to hit the road after field tests show that all systems are now leak-free and working.
This was a successful build, very enjoyable and created a unique and comfortable RV .
Would recommend this endeavor to others so inclined.
The complete ambulance build series is found here: • Converting an Ambulanc...
Great job !! Now we cant wait to see your next airplane build. !
Very nice, Absolutely amazing how you made every inch count.. Really nice job.. I hope that enjoy your travels across the Country..🇺🇸
The final result came out great!
Very nice Jon! Very strong basis for an RV, it should hold together for a very long time!
Wonderful. And off the grid. Talented builder.
This is an excellent build!
Good job. One of the best I've seen.
This is one of the first ambulance builds I actually like, I seem to prefer box trucks
Yes - box trucks provide an alternative to creating almost the same living environment. My biggest caution when comparing ambulance construction and that of a typical box truck is to appreciate how the "walls" are constructed between the two and what that means to the build process. The ambulance "box" has an aluminum square tube frame with an inner and outer aluminum skin. Makes running wires, pipes, insulation, etc a breeze. Also, anything can be hung directly on the inner wall because of the wall strength. On the down side - there are numerous built in large storage compartments that may be in your way... It is unique that ambulance style vehicles are designed for full rollovers without crushing. Of course - they are extremely HEAVY before you even start your conversion! Lots of things to consider.
Me too
Excellent work Jon. You never fail to impress!
VERY nice build!!
Fantastic Jon, great job! I will see it in person tomorrow!
Top job mate 👌
Enjoy your road trips 👍
Planes, rvs, amazing!
Great job buddy 😁😁🤘🤘
Cut pool noodles and put around your propane tank so it doesn’t knock around
Looks amazing! Maybe consider a drain in the propane locker. Propane is heavier than air (specific gravity) and if you get a leak you will want it to have a way to get outside instead of build up inside. Make sure that compartment is sealed tight away from the inside sleeping area. Have fun! Great idea to change over a used ambulance.
Yes, please do.,I had a friend burned to death in his camper from a propane leak. His wife made it out but she was badly burned. Take every precaution.
Thank you for a good observation!
You are correct. Look up videos of BLEVE
Id love to buy this, definitely need 4x4 i live in Alaska so it's best. I know that can be done.
Really love all the windows
Basic floor-plan. That pass through is a nice addiction. You could have used a wet bath, combining the toilet and shower together in the same space. 👍
Nice first thing I’d do a cab pass through
Beautiful
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Epic thx sharing!
Sir what about the affordaplane?
Will you be flying or not?
Inside headroom height please of this Frazerbuilt.
Do you have an idea how much the conversion from 2WD to 4WD could cost?
Curious why you chose to omit a cooktop.
I use an electric frypan and pizza maker along with the microwave for neraly all that I eat so didnt think I needed the stove top. But I understand your question.
@@HomebuiltHELP Just curious. Have fun on the road!
G,day from Sydney Australia.
How are the back springs and shock absorbers? And "back to building!"

THe ambulance builder replaced the stock chevy rear suspension and installed an air bag suspension modification. I replaced the aging air bags. It is amazing what happens to rubber after 25 years!
hi is it for sale ?
Had not thought about selling. I have $30,000 into this now. Still tweeking things. Needs some drawers/cabinets.
