- A lot of people are talking about this fight at 185. How the weight won't make it a good fight. I give my take on how I prepare and what weight makes the most sense.

I bet they said the same thing when Conor fought at 170 I think you guys forget how crazy Conor is pretty sure he wants a win in 4 different weight classes something that hasn’t been done just like first double champ
Connor can afford to walk away from the UFC right now and never look back, if he says its a deaal breaker, and Mike doesnt pushback, i could see the Matchmakers letting it happen. Its not like anyones being asked to cut down to 145 or 135, and considering how much hassle this fight seems to already have caused, maybe doing it at 185 and avoiding any chance of a weight miss is an attractive proposition.
He’s not letting him psych him out, Mike is using the exposure to his advantage.
He’ll never need to fight again if he fights Conor Mc tapper

Always interesting to see fighters change weight classes so I'm on board. Also interested to see if your conditioning is better due to less cutting, worse cuz of the extra weight or basically the same. Also your weight lifting regimen seems to be ahead of most fighters, just like Jon when he went to train with powerlifters. Appreciate the professionalism Mike, looking forward to see you perform

Shit man that injury makes my spine shiver! Anything with the Achilles makes me queasy for some reason😂 that is really cool you have such a good working knowledge of nutrition! A lot dont even in bodybuilding a lot don't. I was bodybuilding for 10 years and so many absolutely need a coach just because they don't have the knowledge to diet themselves. I get having a coach 100% btw for that 2nd pov and helping when needed but a good grasp on your own body and how it responds to foods etc is crucial.

I am glad to hear this is coming together for you. You definitely deserve the payday. How soon in advance of the fight do you typically receive the fight contract? Aren't these type of details typically spelled out in the contract?
I honestly think its 170 at 300 and they're all lying to keep it as a gigantic surprise. UFC hasn't announced a single thing about it and that says a lot.

You have the right strategy. 185 is more to your advantage than it is to his advantage because you're the bigger dude and he's always been known to gas out. This just means that you can go into the fight fresher. I wouldn't worry too much about looking shredded, just go for the best performance possible. I've always enjoyed your fights. Thanks for the entertainment!

Chandler is one of the most exciting fighters in MMA history, especially in Round 1. His UFC run has been a huge success IMO and this McGregor fight is the cherry on top. 👌

I get that coming in at 185 won't be a problem strength-wise and you're not going to be out of shape in order to do it, BUT could it make sense to come in a bit lighter than 185 given that Connor has a tendency to gas-out? Wouldn't an advantage in speed and cardio be an asset in a 5 round fight light this? Curious to hear your thoughts.

That makes a lot of sense. Although I did want to see a beefed up more muscular Chandler just for the novelty of it, but this path sounds a lot more intelligent.
I like this. Everyone could probably stand to jump up a weight class anyway. Not massively dehydrating prior to the fight is a good thing.

Chandler have been this size his entire adult life. Connor got on the juice to get to chandlers natural size. He isn’t used to that body.

I've been a fan of this sport since 1994 /95. I use to the rent the videos & make my girlfriend sit & watch em with me. It's so crazy that today we can log into UA-cam & listen to our favorite fighters' talk strategies. It makes them more personable & the fights more interesting. Chandler is a blast to watch fight. I was on the fence when he first crossed over into the ufc. He has become one of my favorite fighters in the short time he has been here! Mcgregor Chandler is a great match-up & will no doubt be fire when it happens.

Can’t wait for this fight Michael. I think your power will travel up with the weight better than Conor’s. Obviously he hits hard but it was based on his speed and timing. Adding weight does increase power but at the detriment of speed/timing. I do wish we were seeing this fight at 300 (that’s just my impatience as a fan) but I think I understand why it’s happening on international fight week because the UFC gets a big pop anyway at 300 and having you and Conor at IFW gets another big pop at the end of June.
