It's 2023 and I'm coming back to this video for the 3rd time to replace my head bands. I hope this video never gets taken down. Thank you for repairability!
Thank you for the video! i buyed used pro beats with crackled leather and now these looking new🤗 only to loose the tiny screw was tricky a little bit, one of the headband are broken and now i want to find some new one and replace it.
Wow you are awesome man! Thank you!!! Thank you!!! Thank you!!!. The tricky part was soldering the cable but just a bit of patience and you're good. Revivied the beats pro again.
just as a quick warning, my headphones screws were coated in loctite. This meant a few of the screws.... mainly the leather holding clip, 2 of 4 of those screws either completely snapped or I blunted the female end of the screw and the dremel had to come out to cut a ridge in order to get a screw driver to it! just a warning. I'm hoping some of my sunglasses screws will fit and my dremel can cut out the screws where the heads snapped off!
Thanks for the video, i ended up getting there in the end. i have to admit i have never done anything like this before, and the end result has ended up being one of the jankiest things ever. like others i stripped the screws so i ended up trying to hammer the screws with a flathead and broke them lol., so now it is held together with tape! still better than peeling leather anywhere though. My soldering was also pretty jank, but they function just fine in the end.
So the black tape you put inside does not eventually interfere with the sliding action of the headphones being that you seemed to have left it in there? Thanks for your time.
Thanks for the video. I tried to replace the headband unfortunately the + on the head of the screw (that has a circle alum cover) worn out. Sad to say I worn out the other side also. I also noticed that the bass effect were gone when I removed the one side with three wires (gold, green, and red). There's still sound coming on that side of the speaker but the bass effect was less compared to the other side that I did not touch. Is there anything I've done wrong?

Amazing tutorial video! unfortunately in Mexico there are not a lot of places where I can get my headband installed, I´m thinking of doing it myself, your tutorial makes it look so easy, the only thing I´m concerned about is the welding part, I have zero experience doing that, is there any advice you can give me? tools? Or something? Thanks a lot!
Man, this is too much of a long process, I was definitely looking to buy a new headband for my red Beats Pro because I’ve already replaced the ear cups but now I see what the requirements are for replacing the headband, I don’t think I’ll even bother, or I may just pay someone to do it for me!,
Hi am in Germany and i just want to replace the headband but i went to your side and i found the price is 200Euro if there's damage but mine doesn't have any damage. how much it will cost to replace the headband?
Thanks for the excellent video! Even though I am not that good at soldering, I was able to perform the repair on my headphones with a new headband leather from China. One of the screws at 3:50 broke off though, and the other looked quite rusty as well, so I probably won't take it apart anymore. It was kind of to be expected though, as my pair is almost 8 years old now. Hopefully they will last a few more years after this!
after watching this video, I will not be buying a slightly used set of headphones with the leather headband slowly chipping away. I don't have any of these tools. Why would such a simple job also be so intense and complicated? Can't believe you need to almost 100% disassemble the set to replace a headband, still a great vid.
Hi Joe, thanks for this video, but I’m scare cause I’m not master of this... would you fix my beats???and I’ll ship it to you if you could...and tell me the cost...please let me know 🙏thanks again
At 3:13 when you used the screwdriver to take out those big hinge screws; what was the exact size of screwdriver? Also, do you know the model of the screw? I damaged the screw trying to take it out with a screwdriver that fit.Seems youre using a special one with a certain technique. Please let me know; thank you!

We recommend using these screwdrivers, as you do not want to damage the screws: www.joesge.com/products/beats-by-dre-screwdriver-tool-t5-repair-tools-1?variant=7905323188270
I urge you to do your research before doing this installation. If you don’t have the tools to do this it can be costly. If you read the comments a lot of people damaged the screws trying to take them off because you need special tip T5 screw drivers. This guy failed to warned people about that in the video. You will need special screwdrivers, a welding gun, plus the new pads you could be looking on spending over a 100 dollars! I just changed the ear pads and cut and glued the headband over the old one. You can barely tell it’s glued on there unless you inspect them carefully. Good luck 👍🏽

What is the name of the black hinge slides that are in the actual headband? Both of mine are broken and I’ve searched everything but can’t find it to order the part.
it seems one would be able to repair this without removing an ear cup by just cutting off the original headband, and if you're replacing a torn up headband it's pretty much trash anyways

@@Joesge Wow, this is really an amazing piece of help - i am really thankful for that! 🖤 I gladly finished the repair, tho three screws of the small sidepieces which hold the leather in place broke off. Do you maybe know a place or some way how i can still apply them? I also thought about just glueing them together, as it doesn't really hold too much imho.

Nah, imma just buy a replacement headband, cut it down the middle and just sew it onto my existing one
That would definitely be an interesting project, good luck!
@@Joesge 😂

it seems one would be able to repair this without removing an ear cup by just cutting off the original headband, and if you're replacing a torn up headband it's pretty much trash anyways
Just have to be carful not the cut any wires. Plus its metal so it can be tough
thanks man❤❤❤
Thank you for watching our video Raja :)

That’s long. I’m better of with my Sennheiser HD25. This is some bullshit. I ain’t got time this. Stupid flaking leather.
It is one heck of a process.
Well Mine just ended up in the garbage 👌
You forgot a piece
🤷
WAY too many steps just for the headband. I'll find another solution.
😂 doing things right ain’t easy.
i had phones which were a lot easier to open than this little piece of shit. Thanks for your video, mate. I'm still in the process of repairing.
Let us know if you need any additional help
@@Joesge Wow, this is really an amazing piece of help - i am really thankful for that! 🖤
I gladly finished the repair, tho three screws of the small sidepieces which hold the leather in place broke off. Do you maybe know a place or some way how i can still apply them? I also thought about just glueing them together, as it doesn't really hold too much imho.
you had me until you said "solder"
why cant there be an easier way i wish i didnt have to solder thats out of my ballpark
+Jah Bless there is an easier way. Send it to our repair center we fix this issue for $70. www.joesge.com/pages/fix-beats-by-dre
