    I believe it's pronounced like "E-LEE-zhun", if that helps 😊 I enlarged mine to 120% to carry just a bit more, and it came out perfect. Plus it's easier to fit your hand into (even with my small hands, I found it too small/aggravating in the original size). I plan to make all future ones at 120%.

    I really like this bag. I’ve decided that I don’t need to carry all the junk that I used to. I’ve made them for a couple others and they seem to like it too. I have an industrial and made one with cork and faux leather and two with water proof canvas and faux leather.

    • @blw1502
      @blw1502 9 місяців тому

      @@OklaRoots it turned out great! I used a faux crocodile vinyl, so I’d say it’s a medium/lighter weight vinyl. I just made sure to do a 2nd row of stitches right next to the stitch line, just for extra reinforcement. Same on the darts. But it was actually super easy! You might discover some new muscles you didn’t know you have trying to birth it, but if you go slow, it turned out perfect! I used siahswags method of stitching the hole opening, so I didn’t feel like I was about to rip anything! I’d share a pic, but I have no social media (cavewoman over here! 🙋🏼‍♀️)

    Hey Jess, you are by far my favorite bag making channel!!!
    I have a machine question for you. I just started Quilting and bagmaking about four years ago. I’m in my late 50s. Anyway, my first machine was and still is a quantum stylus 9960 by singer. About a $300 machine. It’s been fritzing out lately and I’m two different Juki Machines….the Juki DX5. Or the Juki TL2010.
    I’ve been told that the 2010 is better for bagmaking because it has more power and can get through more of the thicker stuff that we use such as Cork canvas foam etc. etc. BUT It’s only a straight stitch and is semiindustrial. What do you think about working with that type of machine on your bags? I really don’t know if I can handle trying to find the perfect tension each time. Is the skill worth learning? They are both in the same price range. The other is totally computerized.
    I’m so curious as to your thoughts, please help!!

    So I've made this sling a few times, all interfaced cotton, and I keep having issues right at the main zip closure where the internal thread is visible. It seems like there's just a lot of stress here, and I can't get the corners (especially the zip tab side) to poke out nicely. Anyone else have this problem? Any initial thoughts? I feel like a crazy person that I keep running into this with really not very thick material!

    I made 4 of these, with vinyl and waterproof canvas.
    Notes:
    Better with thin grade vinyl, it's hard to turn in heavy/embossed vinyl. Waterproof canvas interior is probably overkill.
    Next time I'd increase the size by maybe 25%. It's a hair too small for cell phones in a big case, and the exterior pockets aren't really practical as they're tiny.

    • @OklaRoots
      @OklaRoots  9 місяців тому

      Totally understand! If you want to stitch it down, just don’t go all the way to the ends. Only top stitch where the zipper is. That we the end of the seams can still spread like they need to during final construction
