- Here's how to do a Kenwood DPX303MBT firmware update. My iPhone was having problems staying connected, so I figured a Kenwood bluetooth update would do the trick. I was getting a HF error 68 code coming up on my headunit. Seems to have something to do with bluetooth, so I thought an update would help.

No worries, glad the video helped. I still remember how frustrated I was and taking it back to the shop that installed the stereo didn't help. Then it occurred to me that these head units can sit on shelves or in some storage container so long that they need updating out of the box. The shop that installed my stereo obviously wasn't up on this. I think a firmware update is step one after getting an aftermarket stereo.

Did the update fix your problem?
Yes, it did. I suspect had I done a firmware update on the original head-unit they installed, it would have been fine. They should so updates on all head units after install. Who knows how long the box sits on a shelf in a warehouse before it gets installed.
will the update work with other information on the drive or do you need a new usb drive?
It's been a few years since I did this. I am pretty sure I did this on a blank USB drive with nothing else on it besides the update itself. Hope this helps.

Same here, for some reason it just said no file and now it won’t turn off or do anything. Now I gotta unplug my battery so it doesn’t drain it. Fuckin kenwood man.
