Had one of my amigio crews with 3 wheelbarrow one day. We stacked all 3 together. I never stopped the rotation of my drum just kept swinging left and right. It was awe inspiring. I will suggest to a contractor to have one when doing 6" ribbon curb. Tell them they can scoop it out the wheelbarrow or off the ground.
For a minute I thought Big Biscuit missed a couple of spots with the float, then I realized I spit coffee on my screen when that dude let one rip earlier. LOL
My Dad said back in his time circa 1950s they wheeled cement with Georgia buggies they were huge once you got them moving he said they were not too bad but tricky to navigate in tight areas they were for really big jobs like the one he was on when they were doing the new fuel storage tanks at OHARE airport in Chicago
nice little power buggies now on those jobs at the airport and downtown, but still, sometimes the old one man powered buggies work well going on off of elevators on jobs!
Back in the middle 70s, I worked for a GC here in Maine and we always did garage slabs like that, thickened edges and 1 or 2 courses of block. I still drive by a lot of them to this day and they are just like new.
Ya Roy they these slabs hold up forever. Glad to hear from an old boy from a Maine who knows what real work is all about. It's soooo nice to dry by a project years later and it still looks awesome 😎
it has a 12" wide continuous footer and the floor helps. single story garage only has roof loads. a grade beam over properly compacted gravel can carry many times that. The only enemy of this type of structure is improper compaction.
Quick tip for you, while the barrows are new ceramic coat the whole thing, that way nothing will stick to it, they will wash up so easily! You will for sure thank me later for how easy they clean up! Take care and don't work too hard!
Ya uncle Jim. I was making rebar caps with Frank. I had made maybe 8 caps an I decided to go down the bank where we drop the demo concrete. My foot got caught in a piece of concrete and down I went. Next thing my arm is a wet noodle. Woke the girl up to take me to the ER and they poped her back in.
that looked like some really nice concrete it bull floated very well it appears on video .. i have such a hard time getting concrete in my area that will seal up nice with bullfloat when it isnt poured very wet.
Hey Bondo got a question for ya. I have a 16x80 monolithic mobile home slab that is level and good condition. Been there since 80s. My son wants to build a house on it..would you? Live near you in western New york.
Watch out I had the same wheel barrels they like to split right up the handles and the barings love to blow out as well but thats my only complaint and they are good work tool
Hey can you make a start to finish video even on a small pad just explaining everything your doing and how someone can do concrete at home who might not have all these fancy things
I have a plate compactor here in philippines that i bought new for $500, building a house here in iligan city philippines, it's a lot different in philippines than in north Arkansas where i'm from. But i'm building with same standard which is much stronger than the philippine way. New mixer with 7.5hp motor cost me$1100.
Good looking concrete work. Shout out to "Biscuit" he get's down using the Bull Float...From Austin, TX.

Ya that sounds awesome thanks for sharing.
You guys do fabulous work

Nice size garage and a wonderfully prepared foundation. That’s how it’s done folks!
Great video. Can I add blocks a year after the pad was poured? Thanks for the help
Absolutely just drill some rebar into the slab and core fill those cells. You can epoxy those bars into the slab too.
Here comes da mud! You run a good crew, nothing wrong with having fun on the jobsite! Here comes da mud!!!!!!!!!!
Russell we love what we do buddy. We definitely have fun. 😊
Excellent 👍, much appreciated, I love how you're laying block while finishing the slab 👍👌, that's PROPER 👍✌️, starting out STRONG 👍✌️
That exactly how my 1965 two car garage is built, and the concrete and two row of blocks still looks like new.
That's sooo awesome. That's a true testament to how well these foundations hold up. Not like a 4x4 stuck in the ground. Lol
Never known someone get so excited about concrete turning up.!!🤣

Nice work.

I'm confused. waht keeps the weight of the building from cracking the edge right off and sinking without a Footer and foundation?
They hand dug the Footer inside the forms 12” deep, so it has a monolithic slab/footer.
The Re rod and 6x6 mesh is what holds it together. The whole slab can float as one piece
Maybe you should watch again Jeff.
@@nrehberg I missed the bond beam. Not knowing where you're located. My bad. In Pa we must go 36" to bottom of footers. Varies by area I guess

You could’ve safe sometime and the guy’s doing the wheelbarrow by leaving a board off for the truck to drive in.
no thickened edge? continuous perimeter bar?
11:21 you can see us putting the bar in. The edge was clearly thicker than the main slab.
1080p resolution please 🙏
Is that a better bond laying block on fresh concert ?

Thanks for the tip
i wanna be the long stick smoother guy, looks so satisfying
Hell when you have such good access you barely need the wheelbarrows much less a pump. One thing about a pump is when you need it, boy do you.
How long have you worked concrete Bondo?
no footing around the perimeter?
Don’t you guys use bar chairs to hold the Reo up?
also that dude on the fork...geeezusss
I have bought 2 of those Brentwood wheelbarrows, they lasted 20yrs for busy Landscaping company.
That is sooo awesome to hear. It is so worth the money if they last the that long. They are built real heavy duty.
Need a deck over trailer to go with that rod bender and wheelbarrows
Yup true 🤙
Nice…. Ronny … how’d you throw that shoulder out…. Rebar cap protectors production?

How many yards?

Absolutely Erwin if it been there and held up that long it's a good starting point for your son.

In rough numbers, how much would you charge for all the work you did there (I'm trying put together a rough budget for something similar)
$7500 is a good starting point time and materials. Excavation is done.
After 30 yrs on a one wheel wheel barrow I find it rather difficult to run the 2 wheeler.
My guys got used to these ones real quick. LOL
Dude... big biscuits sourdough burn your sinuses? Lol
Bob😸
That was interesting way to load block 🤔
Yup Andy. Nothing worse then a rotten biscuit. Lol 😂
At least he didn't blame it on the dog.

No footings? California requires 16”x16” or more !
Use buggy boards and singles
Those work ok on flat smooth ground but if it's rough they are a pain in the A*&. They will bounce back and forth.
Rent a motorized wheelbarrow for $100/ day. 1 1/2-2 times size of regular wheelbarrow and goes up hills.
Amazing
Double the psi in sand. Noy good.
Hate those type of wheelbarrels. Too slow for us
You need to fill them up for them to work. Lol 😂
maybe you should invest in a concrete buggy and ditch the 2 laborers. This project is a 3 man pour, no problem.
I have a concrete buggy. Allen At 16. We use it on this channel. With the price of gas to run it the extra laborer is cheaper. Lmao 🤣
