It's strange to me that 343 finds the wierdest reasons to make certain mistakes, but BTB was hands down the mode I had the most fun with in halo infinite.
I think most of their mistakes stem from the difficulty of juggling player desires/needs, and trying to shape their own unique product whilst not overlapping/negating said player desires/needs
Yes, this is a great solution. I think voice lines for "Pelican inbound" etc could be really good. Jeff is just one of the most quintessential aspects of Halo MP.
I want my personal AI to say the lines. At least the announcements. You might ask why. The answer: I'm hoping for a Cortana or/and Johnson AI in the near future.
Jeff steitzer is part of Halo's "legacy". How many times in everyday life have we all renounced the multi kill medals with his voice. I don't think I'll ever say "you're beginning to make this look easy"
He's literally referred to as "The Voice of God" by the community and by Bungie when they were in control of the series. Gotta have the VoG in Halo MP.
>Make the largest scale multiplayer mode in the Halo series >Remove the multikill announcer ONLY for that specific mode I swear, sometimes it feels like 343 make the absolute worst possible decisions 🤣
@@JamesOsyris You don't see the lack in logic in their decision? This is the the highest chance of getting a killionaire there's ever been, but now you won't even get to hear it.
@@yungsteveharv and believe it or not I actually have 100% achievements completed on both Destiny 1 and Destiny 2. If anybody gets to say that it is I who does.
I like how LNG is all like “look at the beautiful landscape where veteran players will recognize, it made my hair stand up on the back of my neck oh my god” whereas I’m just like “oh that looks like Halo 1. That’s cool” and brush it off after a second of glancing to kill more players lmao
My biggest complaint is the lack of Jeff Steitzer, its honestly baffling to me that they keep trying to replace him… Having Jeff announce killing sprees and then having you be complemented by the commander would be much more natural, and Halo fans would appreciate it, because right now I’m honestly resenting her the same way people resent Palmer.
An issue I had with the weapon racks was the way it encourages players to wait if the time is "close" to complete. There was a grappleshot spawn under the bases in fragmentation. I wanted that and I saw the timer was ~75% through, so I figured I would wait. Otherwise, I might have just checked in to see if it was there and move on instead. I get camping for spawns might always be a thing, but seeing the timer tick down may encourage it a bit more. Another issue I have is sandbox balancing on maps. Recharge, for example, is better if there are two Commandos. The BR kind of dominates on that map that has those few choke points that need to be held. They likely can make it so those boxes only spawn Commandos, but now that will lead to confusion because some boxes spawn both commandos and BRs while others only spawn one of the two.
I think another purpose for the weapon pads is so that dlc weapons that get added to the game can be seamlessly inserted into the existing map pool without having to manually update the weapon placements through forge. Halo 5 had this where if you wanted to play with the grenade launcher or plasma rifle you had to hope that you get a game on one of the dlc maps. However, I’m not sure how rotating weapons will apply to competitive playlists since as you said, maps like recharge play better with the commando rather than the br.
Removing Jeff Steitzer from BTB (you know, one of Halo's most iconic MP modes) is such an insanely baffling decision that I genuinely have a hard time wrapping my head around it. Like, there's no benefits to doing it, only downsides. They talk all the time about how much they love his work and yet they keep trying to make his presence in the games less and less significant
Funny enough they most likely got rid of it because they had the AI, spartan chatter and a new announcer and they "can't" have Jeff because there's too many voices
People are finally remembering that there’s a reason Halo was on the top back in the day. This was pure, saturated Halo fun. The perfectly distilled Halo experience. Halo is back, and possibly better than ever.
@@sunfade Exactly. The game was a lot of fun but needs a lot of little changes to get it back to the level it was. Looking promising though but to avoid disappointment..again..let's hold our horses
Thank goodness someone is talking about the silly weapon racks for literally every weapon instead of organically placed weapons. And I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt empty without Jeff Steitzers voice in BTB. I want him announcing medals AND the game mode AND objective changes just like always.
Racks were in Halo 2 and did everyone forget about the weapon boxes in 3 and Reach? Their existence also makes it easier to place DLC weapons on the map.
Yeah the weapon racks is to fix how 343 adds weapons into the maps , dlc weapons can be easily spawn inside the weapon racks instead of being placed . I doubt they will go back to weapons just placed on the map for this reason.
the reason why the weapon racks are in is for clarity. It helps me so much to actually see weapons instead of having to spend a million years learning the map to find a black ass weapon shaded in a black ass corner of some black ass map.
Agree with the Spartan Agryna voice over. I’m all for her introducing and ending matches, and maybe chiming in to let you know about the time, or match progress. But we need the voice of Jeff (Geoff?), he’s a staple of the Halo multiplayer experience.
I've been able to catch your halo infinite streams, and let me say that your "gaming noises" and various creature voices were a delight to listen to. Keep up the good work!
I love late night gaming man, you really talk about the little details people gloss over but make a huge difference. I was playing the bf 2042 beta and usually I run off to capture the next point, but I decided to stay and defend. The atmosphere of the rain and the wind , the distant radio playing a news station and the sound of destruction in the distance made me want to stay and protect my little haven. I felt like a solider who was exhausted from the fighting around him, for a brief moment of calm. I strongly agree that the weapon racks being the main source of weapons is a bit bland. Having both the racks and weapons laying around will work just fine.
I just loved how immersive and interactive BTB in infinite is every bit of the environment is oozing with detail and little Easter eggs and the sandbox is so much fun to play with compared to the flat feeling BTBs of Halos 4/5 over all very
Unfortunately that's a problem that has plagued Halo BTB since the beginning. People will naturally learn spawnrates and it almost always becomes a race to get to the cool weapon or vehicle. It's inevitably why people betray each other for the sniper rifle or damage a vehicle they wanted to drive: they're selfish assholes who say 'If I can't use/drive it, you can't either'. Warzone in Halo 5 actually tried to improve from BTB by allowing you to spawn with whatever vehicle or weapon you wanted. However, that opened up a entirely different can of worms.
@@alexfrost2799 Yeah better players will think they're entitled to equipment and power weapons just cuz they're more skilled but that mindset prevents other players from getting better at a faster rate with those mechanics since they're not given a chance to practice as much
In terms of critiques, I personally want them to go back to the lowered reticle - or at least have an option for it. The low reticle makes the worlds feel much larger, and it gives better line of sight for the stuff going on in the sky above you
The soundtrack for the multiplayer is becoming my favourite thing of the game due it's strong togetherness with how the game performs. The removal of The Voice of God is something that I relate with what you said, although I didn't hate the voice of the spartan, I actually loved her as a companion in the gameplay, just like the AI. But she does't bring the flavor to the gameplay that only the anouncer can give.
I’ve really been a fan of halo infinite so far. One place I really feel they can improve however is all the hud goop. Like I don’t need to have x Ray outlines of my teammates locations at all times it really clutters the screen and takes me out of the world. I just don’t think an outline system really works too well for halo, with enemies teammates and weapons all being communicated via UI rather than having players see them as part of a given map.
Problem is on such a large map like Fragmentation, how are you going to tell Friend from Foe since the color system from past Halo games (Red vs. Blue as an example) is not going to be there? Without some kind of outline system, you wouldn't be able to tell who is who.
I found BTB frustrating at first due to the map being pretty large and overwhelming and I really think an MCC-Style map overview before a match would really help.
As a french viewer, your diction is very pleasant to hear, I don’t even have to focus on, your words are accurate and your pronunciation crystal clear, it’s amazing for a non native English speaker. Also, I comment here to thank you for your work, I’ve watched yesterday two of your videos, the weapon’s animation for loading, and the one about the banished, and it felt truly amazing, almost like being home, as a player of Halo since I was 10 years old on Halo 2, I could truly share and feel your enthusiasm about the banished being in Infinite. The scenario in Halo is major, it made us dream from the childhood until now, that’s one of the main reasons I was hooked up by the franchise, Halo’s scenario is just amazing to follow through the games. The lore is rich and unique. So, thank you for giving me that unique warm feeling back.
Im so happy that halo infinite is turning out good! The community has waited soooooo long for that classic bungie feel to come back and honestly the multi-player has my mouth watering for the campaign. Can't wait to get my hands on the full game and keep up the good work! Your streams and videos are always a pleasure to watch and listen to!
@@JJAB91 yes but doing that creates a new map variant. The weapon racks have a table of weapons they pull from to spawn. Doing it this way just means that you only have to add it to the table and any rack in any map using that table can spawn that weapon. I’m not a huge fan of the randomness that adds, but I’m fine with it as long as it keeps the sandbox fresh
Having been a user of the halo 1 tools for years that reason was bullshit. It takes 10 minute to set up weapon spawns in the tools. They just wanted to have randomised weapon spawns.
It was recently discovered that Halo has always used projectiles for every weapon, but the community is still adjusting to this new information. Because the projectile system is already there, asking for one is potentially confusing to the developers. Try to talk about it in terms of muzzle velocity in the future. Those who know what you're talking about will already be able to follow, and those who don't now have the resources to learn how Halo handles bullets
11:47 "This isn't a replacement for the voice of God" I cannot agree more with that statement. Thank you for enlightening us on what we need more than anything in Infinite's sound environment.
I really dislike how there is a lack of Jeff Steitzer announcements in general in Arena, but not having him at all in Big Team Battle is just a big fat NO GO. He needs to be more present. Less cringy/corny AI and more Jeff Steitzer. Also feel like Power Weapons are less impactful this time around, and powerful vehicles seem to come way too late in BTB. Overall, 343 finally struck gold in their gameplay designs. They finally designed a Halo game that feels like a modern evolution of Halo 3. Let's hope they can keep the attention of players long enough until Forge is being added as well to boost it even more.
disagreed about power weapons, i feel the AR/sidekick starts make the power weapons feel more essential, even if there are a tad too many to go around.
Agreed. Luckily you can adjust the chatter but the issue is some of the spartan chatte and ai tips are is genuinely useful but still very cringey at most times still
I think having Steitzer voice medals while Agryna voices her little quips is the way to go. “PERFECT” is god-tier, but I do also like it when Agryna tells me I’ll be talked about on waypoint that night.
I have to admit, I'm not as bothered by the weapon racks and similar placements as a lot of folks' complaints lead me to believe I would be. I guess I'm sold on the whole fiction of the war games training thing. Jeff Steitzer though, I'm in full agreement. I want the voice of god back. I don't know why he can't just *be* the commander voice, I'd love to see him as an actual Spartan in-game, that'd be amazing.
Thank you for addressing vehicles and Jeff not being in btb, hopefully 343 fixes some of that iconic flow the past halo games had with their modes. Great video as always LNG, definitely enjoyed this one! :)
10:28 so a bit of context on weapon pads. I agree that weapon pads are less fun than the old way of weapons just being there on the floor but the choice to use weapon racks was so they can edit the weapons that spawn on them even after new weapons are added. This way it’s not like H5 where all old maps are restricted to the weapons of the time. It would be even worse on a game meant to last for so long.
@@eaglesblades no I mean they can change the weapons in the multiplayer maps. You never noticed that the maps released at launch never included the hydra, sentinel beam, gunfighter magnum, brute plasma rifle, etc? This system allows them to add weapons into the maps post launch without bogging down the game with different versions of the same map. Don’t try getting wise if you don’t know what you’re talking about.
@@frenzy2846 I know exactly what you're referring to - for a studio that can afford to pay artists for YEARS post-launch making content for sale the idea that they cannot afford a single staff member to modify existing map spawns is absurd. Again - did you ever play Halo 3/Reach? Many - MANY different map variations with different weapons, object layouts, entire custom levels built off of maps (forge world stands to mind) with absolutely zero extra bloat or overhead. I played dozens of time-limited multiplayer events with completely custom maps back in the day - my favorite being griffball, of course.
I'm always appreciative of how you consider the seemingly smallest aspects of games such as the background music to be important, because whether or not the player knows it, they are.
I understand the weapon rack argument, but the BTB mode made me realize that there is some value in them in that they allow via retry by randomizing some basic weapons. Like how some locations may be a BR one match and a Commando in the next.
The music changing for the gameplay gives me major shadow of war vibes on how in combat the music changes and notes are added and sounds are made to fit into the soundtrack.
I think the announcer voices should be customisable in the same way as Firefight voices on Halo:Reach, that way if you want purely Jeff you can have Jeff, but if you want a mixture you can choose which voice does what game mode or style of dialogue
As far as wall racks go, how would you feel about ground-based weapon crates of the kind you can find on Sword Base in Halo Reach's campaign? When you first walk through the gate, your introduction to the target locator is it, along with some armor abilities and DMRs, in a rugged box whose lid swings open. The same is found later on Nightfall, where saving the militia around the hydro plant prompts them to show off a few cases of weapons, popping them open to reveal a sniper rifle and a rocket launcher. I think the concept behind the weapon racks is solid, and it just needs a few more "delivery methods", so to speak; weapon cases, wall racks, perhaps even the ubiquitous Covenant space-crate.
For the weapon rack situation: I'm sure they could perhaps...make it so the progress bar is...in the weapon itself? The weapon is partially transparent, and has a line all around it, and the progress bar goes on, from back to forward. This could help seamlessly integrate the "spawn timer indicator" without breaking too much of the immersion.
Your first “area of improvement” point perfectly encapsulates my thoughts. I really wish either 1) vehicle spawns went back to halo 2-4 style and were ON MAP to then be fought over and used, or 2) increase the frequency and variety of vehicle drops. I only used the scorpion TWICE during BTB because of the timed drop for that vehicle. Hope to see this improvement over all others.
If 343 wants to recapture Halo magic, they MUST put in Jeff Steitzer’s voice. If they’re not going to make his voice the default multiplayer announcer, they should make it a customizable feature with Jeff as 1 of the options.
7:45 I was under the impression that the unsc guns in infinite did have projectiles that were just extremely fast, or am I wrong here? Because if that's still the case, then all they really have to do is slow down the projectile speed.
The part that the commanders voice could play is to announce (randomly) a vehicle drop (this could switch between teams each time an special vehicle is coming), a nearby good weapon, or if a player sees a big push from the enemy and the commander announces it automatically, just like someone with a mic would do. You introduce commanders and there's no need to take out Jeff Steitzer's voice for other announces
Removing Jeff from BTB is a real head scratcher, gives me Spartan Locke vibes. Like c’mon, we want to play the chief in the campaign and not this new character.
@@centurychum People weren't a fan of Arbiter at first either. I liked him, because he had his place and was interesting to follow. As for the announcer voice, I think they could let us chose. If we want it to be more quiet, we could switch it to the present one. Otherwise I just think Jeff's voice is way more exiting overall, always has been.
@@centurychum With arbiter you had a mirror story about redemption, with every appearance giving insight to the enemy faction. Chief's greatest victory directly impacts the Arby's with his greatest defeat of losing Alpha Halo. He comes to grips that his entire existence is based on a lie and turns what initially was a shameful post into a rebellion. That's a substantial arc in one game, arguably cooler than Halo 2's chief. Locke on the other hand provides no real perspective aside from "you are also a spartan but one that has different orders." No real personality, no difference in gameplay, and nowhere to be seen in Infinite thus far
I like how you present solutions to these problems, instead of most people who just say the problem and don't say how to fix it. Also, I love how you say, " Here's what I like, here's what I think have room for improvement. " To me, that just gives me the feeling that you're not criticizing them for decisions they made, you're telling them, " Hey, this is cool, but I think it could be cooler. " Great stuff.
Jeez, I still remember when you were at like 2k subs and you made your "operation halo" video back when Halo 5 came out or was almost out. Talking about saving the franchise, fixing the art style, designs of the Covenant, etc.
After playing it every opportunity I got, the Insider build of Halo Infinite made me realise the franchise is in good hands. Whatever 343 did worked and I haven't felt so immersed in a Halo game since Reach, which is definitely a confidence booster and hopefully the release is even better. Should I mention, all the additions coming to MCC despite Infinite taking the reins proves they care about Halo and want to deliver a good experience for their playerbase.
I understand moving away from Jeff but his voice is so iconic and will always be associated with halo that even in 100 years for halo's 52nd reboot they should at least try a similar voice if another ever exists
'when you first saw Halo, were you blinded by its majesty?" its a very good thing that not all easily blinded by the new goodness, i cant believe i missed the voice of god in btb, i was more or less just grasping what 343i has made, probably the ideal plyer for the company but so good thing info can get pointed out by voices such as Late Night Gaming or others
Why do they always try to take Jeff away? Like for real, what does 343 have against the guy? Really feels like a stubborn need to make "Their Halo" instead of just making "Halo"
I really, really hope we have more than 2-3 BTB maps at launch. As much as I enjoyed the flight, I got really burned out playing the same map over and over again. Especially without forge, this could be a death knell for Infinite.
Weapon racks and pads are there so 343 can add new weapons and equipment to older maps so you dont have to play on only new maps for the new content. But theres probably a happy median somewhere between them.
Some folks were saying for this flight steizer voice was turned off. In previous flights you could hear both his and the commander voice during a match.
I always use to think that the MP Spartans where gang members like the bloods and the crips, and the multiplayer matches weren't military operations rather they were turf wars.
My personal opinion on how to fix the announcer Is make Jeff do intro outro halfway and medals And have the new girl do any important info like captures and vehicle drops. But to make her more personable say you get a massive kill streak Jeff gives you the medal then she goes "new hvt on the field" as a direct acknowledgement to you or "someones shooting for commander in the future" Just to give her some personality alongside her giving important info
I believe the reason that the weapon rack is the exclusively used in infinite is to future proof the game, so that new weapons added in the future will spawn on older maps. Since they can just set it so that any weapon can spawn into any weapon wrack on any map. It’s a sacrifice they’ve made for the future health of the game.
I don't mind the map, I do mind the balance. Normal hog can't get kills for LoS with all the walls, so replace it with a Rocket Hog. Skewers on spawn slaughter vehicles, so replace with Disruption Rifles- still punishes overzealous drivers without invalidating vehicle combat. No one really bothers with the middle Heatwave zone, so have a single skewer spawn there for people to fight over. You know, ez stuff
Man after hearing that female spartan’s voice after the kill I gotta admit that it doesn’t seem as motivating or exciting as what Jeff Stietzer would be able to deliver. For me personally, hearing Jeff announce that double kill or triple kill makes me feel excited like some sort of gung-ho animal on the lose, ready for that next kill. Hell if they can’t even get Jeff to voice as the announcer for BTB, put in Sgt. Buck again but give him more freedom with his lines, I absolutely love his laid back southern accent as he has some of the best and most casual lines in the series!
Great points and I agree. One other part I would enjoy seeing in btb would be more multi person vehicles especially in team objectives. A scorpion is amazing at racking up kills but at returning an enemy flag to base, not so much. Thus multi person vehicles have a huge value on btb maps.
Everybody's talking about Jeff, but I'm gonna miss Nathan Fillion yelling "That's a double! And that's a triple! Damn you're good!" Seriously, if haven't heard Buck's announcer lines for H5, go look them up.
I was confused at first when the gamemodes on Fragmentation would switch your bases but I figure it's something I welcome because the last thing you want is for the matches to end up like Valhalla 8v8 matches where the enemy team farms your base.
Halo Infinite’s UNSC weapons are projectile based. I did extensive testing on this. The thing is, the bullet magnetism is extreme. If your reticle is red, your bullets will hit. It’s not like Halo 3 where RRR is important. RRR is, no pun intended, infinite in Infinite. You can lead if you want, and it’ll work, but it’s not necessary because RRR magnetism will make your bullets hit.
One idea I think they could do for the weapon dropboxes is instead of mounting them to every wall, take a compromise and have some of them lying on the ground or leaning against a wall. It could be like someone went to try and put that box somewhere, but it either got knocked off its mount or they didn't have time to place it before dropping it and running away.
So, I think the reason the weapon racks were used was so that it would be much easier for 343 to add new weapons onto maps retroactively. For example, imagine if the Needle Rifle were added a year after launch, with weapon racks, it wouldn't have to be manually placed into each map, but rather could be just added to a weapon set, so instead of the BR for a match, the rack spawns the Needle Rifle
On that pan around the Halo 3 spiker. Why the fuck does the spiker look so god damn good in Halo 3. Seriously, I swear its model (and probably the lighting) is so damn good.
I believe adding a game type where capturing, or simply holding a position while your AI calls in ordinance, or triggers some alternative route on the map could definitely be interesting. Maybe even section one part of the map off for a minute or so, to force the other team to move around the map differently. Having a combat A.I. actually do something other than talk sounds appealing. (To me.)
Fix the outlines... They've completely removed all elements of stealth from the gameplay, unless you just crouch behind a rock and wait for someone to run by.
I think 343 set out specifically to make the timing of respawns clear with the weapon rack system, and because of that they might be reluctant to make items spawn in any way other than that. I'd definitely prefer if we could have more organic placement and environmental storytelling like the old games instead, but we'll see how staunch they are in wanting to make sure spawn times are always clearly telegraphed. For competitive games I can see the appeal; after all, recent arena shooters like Quake have all had to add the system themselves so that new players didn't have to worry about counting to the second when an item would respawn so they could be there to control power weapons, but forcing everything to be generated in these wall racks really does do a disservice to the environment design potential. Hopefully we'll at least have non-rack options to use in Forge mode, and 343 won't demand that any forge map they integrate into official playlists use racks for everything instead. At least for unranked playlists, dropping the timing telegraph on occasion shouldn't be too problematic.
Honestly, in response to the lack of Jeff Steitzer, 343 could just add announcer options like they did with Halo 5, someone that is separate from your personal AI. If you don't like the way a certain voice sounds, you can change it out for someone else. I can virtually guarantee you there are people out there that don't like Jeff's voice, as small as they may be. If we're going all out with the customization in Infinite, might as well add that option too
One small criticism I had with BTB was that it felt like there were too many high tier weapons on the map at once. I felt like every life I was picking up some power weapon and it kind of cheapened the experience and seriously weakened vehicles. I kind of missed that feeling from past games where you felt like a god with the sniper and the enemy had to make an effort to take you down because you were the one with a rare resource. Vehicles also felt very weak because of this with so many ways to take them out very quickly. But that’s just my two cents, the game felt amazing otherwise, very excited to see the full game!
Jeff Steitzer should always be the voice for multikill medals and the likes, and the Spartan Commander should be the voice for objective medals. I feel like that would be the best balance. inb4 the trolls say to remove her altogether.
An idea that might not happen but would still be cool is that instead of or in addition to vehicles, Pelicans would drop marine and ODST squads for the two teams, kinda like the grunts from Titanfall. It adds to the fun of the mode and it gives entry level players something to shoot at. They could also expand this by having, on fragmentation for example, rogue sentinel squads that went through the map on patrols. This could also allow the marines to fight the sentinels, adding to the immersion and fun
My issue with Agryna (and the AIs for that matter) isn't that they aren't Jeff. It's that they won't shut up. Jeff called out important medals and match progress. That's it. He wasn't constantly talking dumb things whenever I picked up a weapon or made a double kill. He just said double kill.
I agree, I believe halo infinite is the revival title for the entire franchise. It certainly brought back OG is like myself to the franchise. I cut off at 8:04. Coming back to it, it feels and plays like halo three, and halo reach. It truly is the best of both worlds. Modernize
I agree that having a projectile system could really help out. I don’t mind having weapons like the ar being able to stand up for itself a bit but having high at projectile system could help tune it down a bit. I’m just happy that precision weapon only meta isn’t as prominent as it was in halo 3 as I feel like it kinda watered down variety imo. Edit: Yes I agree the ar is a bit too good atm. What I mean is how in H3 the BR was a weapon that could hold its own in every situation. Ascended Hyperion made a great video about this who explains it way better tbh lol
The part where he was like the assault rifle should have a projectile based system it's almost like halo 3 did that for good reasons and it shouldn't have been changed
Weapon spawns: The whole point in replacing physical placements of weapons with the generic spawner is to allow for much more easily done adjustments to item layouts and cycling of items in the sandbox over time as demonstrated in the first flight. I don't see any way to compromise here without it fundamentally defeating the purpose of either option. Steitzer: He won't be here forever. 343/Microsoft have stated their intention for this game to last a decade. Whether that pans out or not, he is getting old and with the fact they re-record more or less the same lines with mildly different delivery every time, we are going to have to get used to alternative announcers eventually replacing him whether we like it or not for future games if not Infinite itself in the future.
It's strange to me that 343 finds the wierdest reasons to make certain mistakes, but BTB was hands down the mode I had the most fun with in halo infinite.
"if it ain't broke, don't fix it" applies greatly to 343, and they need to adopt this mindset.
I think most of their mistakes stem from the difficulty of juggling player desires/needs, and trying to shape their own unique product whilst not overlapping/negating said player desires/needs
Honestly the red hud stuff is so bad I don't want to play the game. It's that big a deal to me.
I had fun with Arenas but it was pretty sweaty. BTB was a blast, has some issues but so far I love it

Too many times to count. They got to have his voice back. The fact they are trying to insert all of this other VO is head scratching to say the least.
He's literally referred to as "The Voice of God" by the community and by Bungie when they were in control of the series.
Gotta have the VoG in Halo MP.

The problem is :most people don't like projectiles. They get frustrated when they aim on target and still don't hit.
@@stefans4562 well halo always has projectile based weapons. Never had hitscan weapon. Just the projectile has very high velocity in some games. So
@@shaheer1172 I know. I bet most people know. Even the splaser is projectile. They're just so fast that they might as welll be hitscan.
@@shaheer1172 so is this why I always sucked in halo? I picked up mcc lately and have been doing awful lol
I agree, one thing that particularly bothered me was how fast weapons de spawn. If you die, you’re not going to find your rocket launcher….
I like how LNG is all like “look at the beautiful landscape where veteran players will recognize, it made my hair stand up on the back of my neck oh my god” whereas I’m just like “oh that looks like Halo 1. That’s cool” and brush it off after a second of glancing to kill more players lmao
Really? You didnt get a "woah thats awesome they brought this back!" moment? Just a mere passing whim to the art style revert?

That's a part of his content flare I like. But yeah me too, I was just like whoa cool, this feels like halo. Now where's the shotgun.
@@parsashirali8957 not for myself :)
@@deafbyhiphop nah, haha, not really. I’m more of a guy who looks for gameplay more than anything when it comes to multiplayer.
Easy and predictable ambushes though
Removing Jeff Steitzer from BTB (you know, one of Halo's most iconic MP modes) is such an insanely baffling decision that I genuinely have a hard time wrapping my head around it. Like, there's no benefits to doing it, only downsides. They talk all the time about how much they love his work and yet they keep trying to make his presence in the games less and less significant
Ikr makes zero sense
Funny enough they most likely got rid of it because they had the AI, spartan chatter and a new announcer and they "can't" have Jeff because there's too many voices
@PoptartInvasion that's why I said ""can't""
I mean, Jeff's getting up there man. I have to wonder if he just doesn't want to do this anymore
People are finally remembering that there’s a reason Halo was on the top back in the day.
This was pure, saturated Halo fun. The perfectly distilled Halo experience.
Halo is back, and possibly better than ever.
i’d save that for when the game is actually out lmfao. people have been saying “halo is back” for the past 7 years

This is what halo 4 and 5 should’ve been
Thank goodness someone is talking about the silly weapon racks for literally every weapon instead of organically placed weapons. And I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt empty without Jeff Steitzers voice in BTB. I want him announcing medals AND the game mode AND objective changes just like always.
Dude in the BTB test I thought I just sucked and wasn’t getting the streaks at all. Glad I’m not insane
I felt like it could’ve worked better as a gimmick for UNSC maps to make them more unique and have the default be organic.

@@jacobwendt118 SILENCE! I concur.
I just loved how immersive and interactive BTB in infinite is every bit of the environment is oozing with detail and little Easter eggs and the sandbox is so much fun to play with compared to the flat feeling BTBs of Halos 4/5 over all very
The fact that a beta with only one map and tree game modes held me all weekend long is very impressive, I don’t even think I could do that with h3 tbh
Oozing with detail is a stretch

My biggest gripe is racing to get the cool vehicles from your teammates because of spawnrates. The entire flight I never got into a scorpion
@@alexfrost2799 yeah I know but at least in reach and halo 4 I could get into the tanks, banshees, falcons etc at least more than once a game

I’m hoping there’s a option to turn that noob shit off it’s non immersive 🤝

Can't wait to get my hands on the full game and keep up the good work! Your streams and videos are always a pleasure to watch and listen to!
They’ve said that the reason why they’re going with weapon racks is for in the future to make adding new weapons to an old map much more streamlined
How so? Prior if there was a new weapon you could just...plop it down?
Thats a freaking dumb reason hahaha just use forge and put it organically on the map.
@@zachogdahl210 Don't even have to use Halo 1 tools. Just use any engine, like Unity or Unreal.
11:47 "This isn't a replacement for the voice of God"
I cannot agree more with that statement. Thank you for enlightening us on what we need more than anything in Infinite's sound environment.
I believe that we could still have Jeff with the new commander as Jeff would announce the medal and the commander compliments the player.
Jeff, commander, A.I. and random spartan charter would be a little much. Hopefully we can pick who we want to hear in the settings
@@jacob818tanner you can turn off Spartan chatter just like you could in Halo 5
Jeff Steizer should be announcer in BTB, change my mind
Open forge and simply change the weapons spawned on the ground? How is that any different?
Did you even play Forge?
@@eaglesblades no I mean they can change the weapons in the multiplayer maps. You never noticed that the maps released at launch never included the hydra, sentinel beam, gunfighter magnum, brute plasma rifle, etc?

I'm always appreciative of how you consider the seemingly smallest aspects of games such as the background music to be important, because whether or not the player knows it, they are.
I understand the weapon rack argument, but the BTB mode made me realize that there is some value in them in that they allow via retry by randomizing some basic weapons. Like how some locations may be a BR one match and a Commando in the next.
This is only slightly related but I found myself so happy at 2:20 - that's a lof of nostalgia in just one little corridor from CE.
I still wish big team battle had options for more players (and maybe more teams?)
If they’re not going to make his voice the default multiplayer announcer, they should make it a customizable feature with Jeff as 1 of the options.
never realized just how excited i could get by seeing a door but man those forerunner doors scratch a decade long itch REALLLLLLLY good

I was under the impression that the unsc guns in infinite did have projectiles that were just extremely fast, or am I wrong here? Because if that's still the case, then all they really have to do is slow down the projectile speed.
They are
Is there any source stating th UNSC kinetic weapons are all projectiles in H:I ?
The part that the commanders voice could play is to announce (randomly) a vehicle drop (this could switch between teams each time an special vehicle is coming), a nearby good weapon, or if a player sees a big push from the enemy and the commander announces it automatically, just like someone with a mic would do. You introduce commanders and there's no need to take out Jeff Steitzer's voice for other announces
Removing Jeff from BTB is a real head scratcher, gives me Spartan Locke vibes. Like c’mon, we want to play the chief in the campaign and not this new character.
How do you feel about Arbiter then it that case lmfao
I think they should at least make a Jeff AI instead
I only heard Jeff a few times when playing, when I heard him I was very happy.
I like how you present solutions to these problems, instead of most people who just say the problem and don't say how to fix it. Also, I love how you say, " Here's what I like, here's what I think have room for improvement. Really well said LNG. We especially need Jeffy to voice our triumphs in BTB. The new commander lady is so lifeless compared to Jeffs iconic Baritone
They should at least have a setting to turn it on or off. Perhaps they feared Jeff's voice would get annoying because of the medal frequency in BTB
I really like Halo
Yes I'm so inept that I had to edit a mistake in such a simple sentence.

Weapon racks and pads are there so 343 can add new weapons and equipment to older maps so you dont have to play on only new maps for the new content. But theres probably a happy median somewhere between them.
They can literally just drop the weapons in forge
@@buttthead except doing that creates a variant map from the orginal
Some folks were saying for this flight steizer voice was turned off. In previous flights you could hear both his and the commander voice during a match.
Fragmentation was a great map. Big map for big battles. Really feels like a warzone.
I always use to think that the MP Spartans where gang members like the bloods and the crips, and the multiplayer matches weren't military operations rather they were turf wars.
My personal opinion on how to fix the announcer
Is make Jeff do intro outro halfway and medals
And have the new girl do any important info like captures and vehicle drops.
But to make her more personable say you get a massive kill streak Jeff gives you the medal then she goes "new hvt on the field" as a direct acknowledgement to you or "someones shooting for commander in the future"
Just to give her some personality alongside her giving important info
You know, ez stuff
holy shit dude you uploaded just in time when I really needed something to watch
Don't worry dude. They'll sell you the announcement pack for $9.99.
Damn you're good!"
Seriously, if haven't heard Buck's announcer lines for H5, go look them up.
They make me want to tear my own eyes out and use them to plug my ears personally but I’m glad someone got something out of them 👍
I was confused at first when the gamemodes on Fragmentation would switch your bases but I figure it's something I welcome because the last thing you want is for the matches to end up like Valhalla 8v8 matches where the enemy team farms your base.
Zeta halo definitely looks like my home state of Washington especially in the small town area I live in
On that pan around the Halo 3 spiker.
Why the fuck does the spiker look so god damn good in Halo 3. Seriously, I swear its model (and probably the lighting) is so damn good.
1:11 that assault objective would be dope if it was a coaster
As someone from a small town in Washington; it makes me feel at home and I love it. Especially the dead space marines and aliens.
Great stuff!
The reason for weapon racks was because they wanted a easier way to implement new weapons but I do agree
If we're going all out with the customization in Infinite, might as well add that option too
They should at least give the gamer the option to use the classic Jeff Steitzer voice, or the random nobody voice.
The Steitzer absence is the gravest sin I have witnessed.
343 must rectify this failure to continue on the great journey toward salvation.
Great video and points as always, loved the added summary texts at the bottom, great addition
Modernize
you're 100% right, 343 has to keep up this momentum for the game to be a staying power in the gaming lanscape, and they're off to a pretty good start!
That and it made the BR not absolutely dominate the samdbox
Weapon spawns:
The whole point in replacing physical placements of weapons with the generic spawner is to allow for much more easily done adjustments to item layouts and cycling of items in the sandbox over time as demonstrated in the first flight.
Can have the best of both worlds for voiceovers. Jeff can voice for medals and the new chick can give tactical info about weapons and vehicles
