He was not an American song writer. He was a Canadian citizen and remained one his whole life, lived and loved in Montreal and continued residing there. His literature and most of his music was written there . Thanks
Thankyou Leonard Cohen for sharing with us your illuminated songs and words of love ,and life , and God , and faith and beauty all around, giving us too, the freedom to love and live life in the given moments.
I saw Cohen twice in Adelaide when I worked as local crew at the Entertainment Centre there. It was an amazing experience to see him up close - he was this frail old man who pulled himself up on stage clutching the rail of the stairs and looked like he could be blown over by a slight breeze but as soon as he started to speak and sing he seemed 10 feet tall and like an eternal, elemental being - it was the most uncanny thing I've ever seen - like his being was not contained in his physical frame.
I was watching a sub-woofer video leads me to Leonard Cohen Live at London Hallelujah to Zack Snyder back to Leonard Cohen speech at the Prince of Asturias Award to here...
To everyone who’s losing their shit because the narrator mentions the Great American Songbook, be aware that there is no Great British Songbook, no Great Canadian Songbook etc.

He was like no other! He holds you captive with his words. His music envelopes your whole being. Rest In Peace, Leonard. You will never be forgotten.💖
When I first heard Leonard, his sound, his words, held me captive, enveloping me in a peaceful cacoon.
Much appreciated. Saw Cohen twice, once in the seventies, once much later in the 20s. Missing him already.
I love this man, his words, his music, and all.

I'm deeply moved by this interview. You both did good.
This may be the first time an algorithm recommended exactly what I needed in a moment when I had no idea what I wanted.
Very moving interview. Thank you for making this available!
An amazing talent. He was sheer genius.
Very thoughtful heart warming interview. Thank you,
I think he was searching for his Spirituality, like me, and that's one of the main things that draws me to him.

Thank you for posting this great interview. RIP Leonard
Thank you LC
Die ouer en volronde Cohen het my hart van vooraf gesteel. So heerlik om na hierdie onderhoud te kon luister. Baie dankie!

Kanye West mentioned in the same breath as Leonard Cohen. You have got to be joking.
