One thing im gonna try is using automatrons: Sentry torsos robo heads with dual shoulder launchers (they home in) trapped near turret banks with regeneration field so they heal the turrets a bit between each wave.
Hangman's Alley is the best early-game base to set up a legendary/XP farm, but it has drawbacks. Wandering merchants will often path into battle, there is a nearby random spawn point which can also cause problems, sometimes the spawned mobs will get stuck among the derelict cars in the underpass in back of the base, and it has three spawn points. Hangman's Alley is close to Diamond City and its merchants, and if you can't make your own merchants, that is crucial for selling all the guns and armor. Nuka World Red Rocket is the best mid and late game base, it only has one spawn point. Buy the Big Boy legendary fatman in Diamond City, slap the Nuka Launcher Mod on that puppy, flip the switch and let her rip. There will be so many dead bodies and loot, it will lag your computer.

By using the 'Fresh meat lure' on 'very hard' difficulty. Its much more than an XP farm, its also a Legendary items farm as well. There are 10 waves per round with at least one legendary per wave. You don't want to use grenades, their bodies will be flung in all directions and it will be difficult to almost impossible to find them when you want to collect the legendary item. I use VATS to ID the legendary creature so I'll know where to go to collect my prize. Don't use turrets because they will break down after a few waves of constant use and you'll be spending time to repair them instead of using that time to grab the legendary item. The Legendary items is completely random - weapons and armor. To start using the 'Fresh Meat Lure' early in the game for the XP and legendary drop, you want to get the 'Spray and Pray' submachine gun (short controlled bursts for the smaller monsters and hold down the trigger for the big ones) also leveling up your 'explosive perk' to be more effective. When using the 'Fake Distress Signal Beacon' you'll be up against Raiders and Gunners and they will shoot you with almost perfect accuracy, so you'll want to level up your defensive perks - Toughness, Adamantium Skeleton, Refractor. After I get my favorite Legendary items from farming - Explosive 10mm pistol and the Wounding 10mm pistol and mod them to full auto - I ditch the 'Spray and Pray'. I also build a massive ammo factory for those 10mm rounds (ammo weighs nothing). I pick a location that is easily obtainable - Outpost Zimonja - and build my base, rectangle in design using 'Shack Foundation Blocks' for the high walls (4 high at the front and sides, 5 high on the back end) and stairs (if combat gets a bit overwhelming and it will) that goes down but not touching the ground, you have to jump up to get on the stairs. If you build the stairs touching the ground, they will simply follow you up the stairs. Very important, when you earn flags by completing rounds, don't build the flag. When you start on whatever lure you choose, it will start at round one. It'll be easier for you in the long run. Also when there too many bodies lying around, your console will freeze up. Bring a lot of frag grenades, throw into the biggest concentration of bodies to break them up, it helps. You need to use 'quick save' when the bodies get too much and when you get the Legendary you've been farming for so you don't lose it if the game freezes. You can stop the Lures at anytime, if you want to collect something from the dead enemy after you shut down the lure, do it quick, the bodies will start to disappear. I like to stop the waves when it gets dark unless you have night vision (wolf ribs from Far Harbor). To get rid of all the bodies to get a fresh start, fast travel anyplace and wait 24 hours and fast travel back. Don't build your lures at an established settlement, the settlers will join in on the fight and they WILL get themselves killed. I'm sorry this is like user manual, I'm just passing on what I have learned by using this kit for years. Also on an unrelated topic, don't construct the 'Shooting Range' decoration. If you gave you settlers something - different clothes or weapons. They will not be equipped with the items you gave them when you return to that settlement, it will default their items back to what they had before you changed it. I hope any of this helps.
when I got the ambush kit, I used to look for a settlement where I could camp the enemies, with a explosive shotgun, I waited for gunners to come into the chamber then the second door opens and I start killing them one by one, occasionally leaving one enemy alive to loot the bodies and put all the items in a storage container. rinse and repeat. afterwards scrap everything. crafting materials for days. along with exp,.

From an video editor’s perspective I could tell you that at 19:46 the cut seems a little off, how can we verify that the fake distress signal works? (Not coming at you with disrespect)
I understand, in my defense, @ 19:35 You can see it pop up on the top left of the screen. Fake distress signal active, get ready. and at 20:54 it shows on the left when i completed and started round 2. Im also going to be doing a complete step by step walkthrough another build using the FDS. I cut out running around the building to get there attention to keep the length of video down, which was probably unnecessary since it only cut out about 15 seconds. But i can assure you it works, i have other videos using it at this base and clearly, its working lol Thanks for the advice though, ill pay attention to my edits better on the next one, cheers.
To me this is the best thing to exploit in the game, its a game within the game. I didn't know that about getting the final round to repeat by planting the flag, thank you. I thought Dalton Farm was the best spot for me, but I'm currently doing it at Somerville, they spawn 99% of the time in two places, behind the house and beside the house, on the side the workshop is, I'm not sure if they're spawning beside the house because of how I box the house in with shack foundation though. I have the one in back boxed in with the screen looking flooring across the top it, I kill most of them with Atoms Judgement, but I really like just using mini nukes, one-shot theyre all dead. But the way I built this at Somerville I'm using plasma grenades to move the bodies around to farm the bodies, and break them down, because the box they spawn in in back is only 2x3 flooring/2 high, I've got them boxed in too good, also, having maxed out Strongback makes a big difference, then you can pick up everything
I use warwick homestead And a shit ton of Protection automatrons with laser attachments with health fields to absolutely destroy gunners Ive been stockpiling parts ti build a few sentries
I am same only a few achievements to get but I got them all on ps4 but moved over to xbox one and used mods on xbox only just playing again with the next gen update no mods just the cc gears and only a few achievements to get

And the best place to lvl up with the ambus kit is nuka world redrocket if possible it only has 1 spawn point
