Never in my life have i ever watched a star wars movie but man seeing this i now understand why ppl love this stuff. Deff gotta sit down for a day and catch up good stuff man
Anakin becoming Vader was the culmination of his whole life. Being raised a slave, finding her mother tortured to death. This all happened under the watch of the Republic and the Jedi Order. Someone as gifted in the Force as Anakin couldn't wait to tear it all down. Unfortunately Anakin was manipulated by the Sith lord, and his vision of a new empire was corrupt and tyrannical
Actually. If Anakin had just been given the rank of master it would’ve been avoided because he felt discluded and that is what got him closer to Palpatine because Palpatine showed him sympathy
I haven't seen the prequels. I don't really wanna though, haven't heard good things, but still would like some context, plus I am bad with names and forgot some of the names/places and plot points in 5 and 6.
There's not really any reason to reference him. He's just a side character. The OP only mentioned Threepio once, too. Both of them are just funny, annoying side characters. People make too big of a deal out of Jar Jar.
I logged in to specifically comment on this video. Absolutely fantastic summary, in depth yet it still makes sense. I have watched the movies but it has been a while and needed to get caught up for the new one. Honestly thank you so much this was absolutely perfect A++++ job.
I too accept, since I had seen the prequels but not that familiar about star wars story, i was shocked to find that guy became darth vader, can u believe i became star wars fan after seeing this movie
Thank you for just giving the story and none of the plot holes, nit picks, or debates that so many other fun videos provide. Just a simple summary that gets us ready/pumped for the next movie.
To be fair, I honestly think that the stories and treatments behind the prequels were never bad. In fact, they're pretty... great. George Lucas had some awesome ideas and was excellent at world-building, he just had terrible execution and was a poor director. Kinda tragic. Almost feels like wasted potential.
Nah, the movies just get a bad rap - it's fairly unwarranted. It became the popular thing to hate on these movies a while back and whether or not people actually felt they were bad or had even seen them, they listened to and agreed with their friends that the movies were bad. Then, you have an entire generation of people who were raised literally being taught that the films were bad before even seeing them. Do the films have flaws? Yes. Are they enough to discount them as bad films? Not by a long shot. The Original Trilogy had quite a few flaws, as well, but people willingly gloss right over them while nitpicking at the smallest flaws in the Prequel Trilogy. Episodes II and III being almost entirely CGI-manipulated turned off a lot of people, but that decision was made by Lucas after he spent $150 million of his own money to fund the Phantom Menace using full sets, miniatures, real explosions, practical effects, and shot on location in Tunisia and Italy and a bunch of OT fanboys threw a temper tantrum and demanded that the entire thing be done without CGI and badmouthed Lucas. Lucas didn't like that kind of slander and unappreciative attitude and decided to forego practical effects entirely.
Actually, I was wrong: Episodes II and III used sets, miniatures, matte paintings, and other practical effects, too. The only difference is that they were filmed on digital cameras instead of film so they have a brightness and sharpness that the other films don't and they have slightly altered color palette. There's a really cool thread here boards.theforce.net/threads/practical-effects-in-the-prequels-sets-pictures-models-etc.50017310/page-18 just go back to the first page.
+londontolosangeles12 tbh u MUST watch the original 3 (I.e 4 5 6) you cannot say you liked the movie without watching in my opinion the greatest films in pop cult history.
Excellent work in your description of all 6 Star Wars movies. Its a wonderful 9 minute refresher course.Thank you for what you've provided. May the force be with you.
I love that you told the story chronologically instead of the order of film release. It was so hard for me to explain this to my brothers who have never seen the older movies
This is epic! absolutely fantastic. I'm about to go watch the force awakens and now i actually know wth is going on. Yey!! Utter kudos, this is brilliant.
Well summarised and edited but it makes me wonder if the narrator actually watched the films or just read a synopsis he couldn't pronounce properly. General Grievous, not grievious.
Haha, I've seen them all more than a few times. After doing all the recordings, I listen back to it and noticed that I did miss pronounce a few character names (General Grievous and Grand Moff Tarkin). Due to the time crunch of the films release date, I didn't have time to re-record before my final edit! Glad you enjoyed the video!
+double lynx I also complimented, in case you didn't notice. I was simply giving my opinion that it was strange a Star Wars fan would mispronounce such names. Why are you here?
Thanks for explaining this so succinctly! Most of the other summaries are all 20 minutes or more, and I don't have that kind of time. I wanted to just have a quick recap of where everything was at, politically, at the end of all the previous films. Thanks for this!
Literally the best explanation of the saga. Coming from someone who's seen the movies a billion times. This video is perfect for my wife. :) Thanks a million!
Why don't you actually watch the films? This video really wasn't a good summary of the films. And if you haven't seen Rogue One twice, then everyone in your grade hasn't seen it twice.
GREAT GREAT recap... i love Star Wars.. but heck if i understood it much. THIS made things pretty clear without having to watch all the movies again before seeing the movie tomorrow night. Thanks so much!!
I'm gonna use this as a summary for someone who is closed-minded, and says he hates Star Wars, even though he's never seen it. He doesn't want to spend 14.3 or whatever hours watching the world's most legendary saga/series ever, so this should get him to our side. I'll hide the URL of this video somewhere that he can find it and he should watch this video through. Wish me luck.
Watching the movies again: does Vader even know Lea is his daughter? He didn't know he was going to get twins right? And he is obsessed with finding Luke, his son and never talks about his daughter.
+RobMorane Darth Vader finds out he has a daughter when he senses Luke thinking about her in "Return of the Jedi" when he says "So, you have a twin sister. Your feelings have now betrayed her too." That's when he finds out that he had a daughter too.
Episode 7: The Force Awakens Episode 8: The Force Gets Ready For The Day Episode 9: The Force Drives To Work But Gets A Speeding Ticket And Has A Bad Day Because Of It And Goes Home To A Wife That Doesn't Understand Then Cries Himself To Sleep
I think Star Wars Episode 8 Will be 3 Years after this movie. Because you know all the star wars trilogy movie have 3 years between their movie. Lemme just quick-list all the years. 1. Original trilogy - IV: A New Hope (1977) - V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980) - VI: Return of the Jedi (1983) See? They both have 3 years between all movie. Let's Move on into Prequel trilogy. 2. Prequel Trilogy - I: The Panthom Menace (1999) - II: Attack of the Clone (2001) - III: Revenge of the Sith (2005) Yup, they're also having 3 years between the movie. So let's see the new trilogy shall we? 3. The New Trilogy - VII: The Force Awakens (2015) - VIII: ? (?) So my theory is, episode 8 is gonna be in 2018. Yup, thanks for reading this reply.
+Electro Gaming Episode 8 is releasing 2017 and episode 9 following in 2019. Also the prequels aren't 3 year gaps. Attack of the Clones came 2 years after the Phantom Menace, and Revenge of the Sith came 4 years after.
You summarized all 6 films perfectly. My favorite film is Revenge of the Sith but I like the Jedi more than the Sith. If I was in the Star Wars universe I would be a Jedi master with a green lightsaber and would be the second highest or second best Jedi in the Jedi order right behind the grand master so like Windu who is second best behind Yoda. And of course I would be one of the 12 Jedi on the Jedi council
My Ratings for the Star Wars films and shows (main ones, canon + legends) The Phantom Menace: A- Attack Of The Clones: B The Clone Wars 2008: A Clone Wars 2003: B+ Revenge Of The Sith: A+ Rebels: A Rogue One: A++ A New Hope: A+ The Empire Strikes Back: A++ Return Of The Jedi: A- The Force Awakens: A

+Slade Wilson I agree that it's a good video, but the pronunciation struggles make it sound a little sloppy. Plus, newcomers will start saying "Marf Terkin" without knowing any better.
So my best friend said that she never really watch Star Wars movies and she never really liked the whole concept of Star Wars so I’m going to show her the new three movies and I want to show her a video of the past six movies in a nutshell so she would know what happened and she wouldn’t be 100% lost. Thank you for making this video.
Never in my life have i ever watched a star wars movie but man seeing this i now understand why ppl love this stuff. Deff gotta sit down for a day and catch up good stuff man
Have you gotten to it, boy?
I haven't watched on either
have you done it yet?
Christrulesall2 I told my brother that I’d watch every sing Star Wars movie and I haven’t watched one I’m a failure
@@ImJustJonnY. speedwagons brother
it seems to me that if Anakin hadn't been appointed to gaurd Padme this whole thing would have been avoided.
Chris L well maybe, Anakin wasn't the only piece to Palpatine's plan (clones/order 66) and he could have seduced him another way.
Chris L even if they decided to steal and take schmi with them it all could have been avoided
master of obi van should have left him where he was with his mother

I feel 90% of people watching this have seen both trilogies.

I think it was meant to be shown to your gf wife or family members that havent seen the films
I haven't seen the prequels.
I don't really wanna though, haven't heard good things, but still would like some context, plus I am bad with names and forgot some of the names/places and plot points in 5 and 6.
well guess I'm a minority then.. is this what its like?
I've watched 4 of those movies
I like how there is not a single reference to Jar Jar.
The whole Galaxy must be rooting for an temporary Empire & Rebels specific Holy Alliance to exterminate the whole fitlhy jar jar species big time.
Fabien Colonel genecide
There's not really any reason to reference him. He's just a side character. The OP only mentioned Threepio once, too. Both of them are just funny, annoying side characters. People make too big of a deal out of Jar Jar.
there should tho.... jar jar allowed order 66 for palpatinr to kill jedi
Good no reference to him

truly great job..10/10
I haven't seen episodes 1 through 3 since they first came out, but this summed them up perfectly. Great job Legofan, I really appreciate this.

Wow, you made the prequel scripts sound not too bad. Good work!
To be fair, I honestly think that the stories and treatments behind the prequels were never bad. In fact, they're pretty... great. I've just seen the new one, so this was a big help in understanding the whole story. Great video
+double lynx You say that like it's a bad thing. Critique is a necessary part of our culture. You don't have to compliment everything, you know.
Great job, you clearly explained the films in way that appealed to someone who had never watched the series before
I hope you make an updated version with Rogue One and TFA
yeah
You dont have to do TFA because its exactly the storyline of episode 4 so...
Skorch Row *facepalm* never have I read such an ignorant statement
TianoPCGamer
In what way was my statement ignorant? Did i say that i am for 110% right and that i am the best guy in the world? ;)
does ANH have Kylo Ren? No. So episode 4 isnt exactly tfa
great to see all of the star wars films (excluding rogue one and solo) all in one video!
It's been so long since I've watched Star Wars, I was so little.. I barely remember anything. Thank god for this.
Thanks for explaining this so succinctly! Most of the other summaries are all 20 minutes or more, and I don't have that kind of time. I wanted to just have a quick recap of where everything was at, politically, at the end of all the previous films. Thanks for this!

I'm watching this at 12:40 am, had to do some catch up on 4 5 and 6!
OMG we're on the same page. I CAN'T BELIVE THIS. is this a coincidence ???? xD. i'm literally watching this on 3.10 on the morning. xD
I am watching it at 3:05 in the morning cus I am watching the new one technically today and I have forgotten parts of the movies

What's with everyone watching it at 3 in the morning hahaha XD

Everyone in my grade has already watched Rogue One... TWICE.
This was insanely useful. THANKS!!!
AidenNeoflame I watched it 3 times !
Why don't you actually watch the films? This video really wasn't a good summary of the films.
And if you haven't seen Rogue One twice, then everyone in your grade hasn't seen it twice.
So you're watching Star Wars just because it's "cool" and everyone in your grade's doing it, and you're just jumping on the bandwagon...
AdhentoshPlus you do realize it's probably a child your knocking loser. Get a clue. Got worse than the guy who did this video

This is awesome! So often video summaries of anything are told waaaay too fast for a brain to comprehend.
Impressive, most impressive.

I can't tel you enough how much I appreciate Star Wars now compared to when I was a kid thanks to this review
This is exactly what I was looking for. I am watching Force Awakens today and needed to catch up. Awesome job. Thanks!
This is one of the best summaries I've watched!
Wow, dude. Great work. This probably took so long to do.
Thank you for posting this. The Force truly is with you.
My idiot friend wants to watch Episode 7 without having watched the previous 6 Episodes so I sent him this.
hats off to whoever made this video, made my life much easier THANK YOU
GREAT JOB VERY WELL EXPLAINED I LEARNED SO MUCH THX MAN
Time for a Star Wars movie marathon
Watching the movies again: does Vader even know Lea is his daughter? He didn't know he was going to get twins right? And he is obsessed with finding Luke, his son and never talks about his daughter.

NEW STAR WARS MOVIE TITLE: Star Wars: The Force Goes Back To Sleep
Episode 7: The Force Awakens
Episode 8: The Force Gets Ready For The Day
Episode 9: The Force Drives To Work But Gets A Speeding Ticket And Has A Bad Day Because Of It And Goes Home To A Wife That Doesn't Understand Then Cries Himself To Sleep
+Michelle Lehto Jesus Christ, you have some repressed issues there?
logitech5501lolo Nah man, it's the Force. Trouble in the galaxy lately.
Well done! I just sent this to some family members that wanted a summary. I looked for 30 minutes before finding this very good one.
To avoid spoilers, watch it in this order: 4. 5. 1. 2. 3. 6. 7. (8. 9. after release)
too late
I think Star Wars Episode 8 Will be 3 Years after this movie. Because you know all the star wars trilogy movie have 3 years between their movie. Lemme just quick-list
all the years.
1. Original trilogy
- IV: A New Hope (1977)
- V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
- VI: Return of the Jedi (1983)
See? They both have 3 years between all movie. Let's Move on into Prequel trilogy.
2. Prequel Trilogy
- I: The Panthom Menace (1999)
- II: Attack of the Clone (2001)
- III: Revenge of the Sith (2005)
Yup, they're also having 3 years between the movie. So let's see the new trilogy shall we?
3. The New Trilogy
- VII: The Force Awakens (2015)
- VIII: ? (?)
So my theory is, episode 8 is gonna be in 2018.
Yup, thanks for reading this reply.
+Electro Gaming episode 8 is coming out in 2017

Amazing, man! I must admit I clicked on this link thinking there was no way this was a good summary in 9 minutes... Flawless, thanks so much!
man the prequels sound so much more interesting by synopsis.
Prequels are awesome and really show huge scope of universe
This is an INCREDIBLE review...perhaps thte best on UA-cam! Thank you!
So I'm kind of a Star Wars noob...what place is Rogue One supposed to be in? Or is it not connected to any of these films?
zynbw It's right before Episode 4.
***** thanks 😊
Yep in between 3 and 4. It's the whole background story to the deathstar plans that Leia has.
3.5 episode explain why death star could be destroy so easy
at the end of rougue one you see the start of episode iv...
This is so great!! Took a while to find a good summary. feel like watching them all again now.
Its Gre-vuss not Gre-vee-us
Shut up before I make you swallow
Besides a few mispronunciations, I thought this was really done well. Thank you!
Add The Force Awakens, Rogue One and Rebels plzz.

May The Force Be With You
are the sith bad? sorry I no nothing
+Nerf Productions And Vlogs Well, the sith tap into the force through rage, anger, and hatred... yeah, so they're the bad guys.
The Sith use the dark side of the force whilst the Jedi use the light
From a certain point of view
+Eileen E FROM MY POINT OF VIEW THE JEDI ARE EVIL
Tesco Lemon Bleach THEN YOU ARE LOST!!!!
Thank you very much, this has saved me the trouble of watching I, II, III and trying to understand the plot.
Dude.... Pronunciation dude.... Pronunciation..... *sigh*
