- In today’s Savor Salvage Scent video I talk about my small but might collection of Lanvin perfumes. From the 1920s to today, rare to easy-reach, this set is full of diverse, unique, signature-worth scents:

I really enjoyed this video. The music, though, distracted me because I kept trying to figure it out, lol. I subbed though! I love Rumeur and it was my wedding scent.
I've watched this video twice now! The only Lanvin I've really used is My Sin. That was a very long time ago. Hearing you talk about Rumeur made me want to try it again. The old Rumeur was discontinued in the 80's and the "new" Rumeur I've not tested. Reviews have not been kind but hearing you speak of it made me decide to give it a try. Can't wait for it to arrive. I love your reviews! Thank you!

The only Lanvin perfume I’ve experienced was My Sin. It was my mother’s favorite and became a favorite of mine as well. A shame it’s been discontinued. Beautiful fragrance. By the way, love your hat. You look great!

My Sin was my mom's favorite too. She passed away 2 years ago and I have considered buying some just to remind me of her. I found some but it's terribly expensive

I thought RUMEUR was like exactly how you described the bottle...a grenade(!)on top, an explosion, but omg the end notes are luscious!

Love the focus on Lanvin. I dont think it's fair to compare Lanvin to Chanel perfumes since Chanel has always controlled their perfumes while Lanvin used to be owned by Loreal and is now licensed with Inter Parfums, hence why it's so affordable these days. Love the first 2 bottles, absolutely beautiful.
I only have one Lanvin frag -- Girl in Capri. Grapefruit and lemons. Very pretty.
Lanvin reminds me of Rochas, another French haute couture house that is licensed by Inter Parfums.
I actually meant to mention that difference. I love to compare things, ha! Thank you for the excellent info! This is part of why I think Chanel’s DNA is so strong. Thanks also for the compliment in general. I forgot the name... actually have been wanted to try Girl in Capri!

(And, it's _Lanh_ - _Vinh_ , i.e., the *i* and *a* are both vowels rendered « nasale » in pronunciation by the [silent] Ns that directly follow them -- same as in for « le vin » [= wine] ; your first pronunciation of Éclat was correct = _Ay_ - _Clah_ .)

@@savorsalvagescent2300 I received my first Arpege ever! I am enchanted, definitely only a negligee at home moment in order to truly enjoy without the haste of modern life. It arrived half spilled but such is life. I will hunt down more! I have the one with the icon on both nozzle and cap and the box read Natural Spray Eau de Lanvin.

Hey Amy! I hope you're doing well. Really enjoyed this video :) I only discovered Lanvin's perfumes this year, despite all of the beautiful fashion from the house I've seen in magazines. I own Arpege and Rumeur. Haven't gotten the chance to wear Rumeur yet, but Arpege is absolutely stunning (recent formulation). I definitely see why it's compared to No. 5. The aldehydes at the beginning are STRONG, and along with the florals....It's interesting for sure. The dry down is my favorite though - It's Balsamic...Sweet but mainly Woody. Glad I researched the house! I now might have to look into finding a bottle of Me at some point, because it sounds like a fragrance I'd really enjoy!
Sam, great to hear from you! I think the newer formulation of Arpege is even gutsier than the old in some ways, because the aldehydes and almost smoky powdery qualities jump out more. Plus, that bottle design-gorgeous. I am looking forward to trying some more Lanvin scents like Girl in Capri which sounds like an Italians-do-citrus scent. Hope you are well + enjoying the fall. And YES, I think ME is super cool. Kind of like Guerlain’s Black Perfecto it Rihanna Rogue but a hint more licorice + blueberry instead of cherry or plum.

I didn’t fully appreciate aldehydes until I discovered Elizabeth Arden’s Blue Grass - a fragrance I found out was my paternal grandmother’s favorite, and now one of mine (also super inexpensive!). Yes, the Arpege bottle design is definitely stunning - one of those that you keep when the bottle is empty!
Girl in Capri sounds like a really nice fragrance as well! I hope you are able to find it - it’s unfortunate how overlooked the house is, and how often their fragrances are discontinued.
Wooooow!!! I've Jeanne under my radar but for one reason or other I always leave it out of the cart and purchase something else, also L'eau de Arpege. I will definietly check on them Amy! it is time for a Lanvin on my collection.🌸

Tony! Thank you for the compliments. Yes, Lanvin has a lot to offer. They are now owned by L’Oréal (I think for 15-20 years?) so their DNA isn’t as consistent as a house like Chanel. But there are some real gems.
Brand new subscriber and love your video! Hopefully, you are still making them. I just purchased A Girl from Capri and wanted to watch a couple reviews. I know, I probably should watch first, but I love it. It’s going to be stunning in the heat, which is already hitting us in the mid-Atlantic! That’s what I wanted. Not sure of longevity, but I will just have to re-apply!

I just blind brought this Remur fragrance and I must say the opening is aggressive the dry down has a zest soapy vibe to my nose. I absolutely love Oxygene by Lanvin it's my signature scent so I was curious about this one but I think I may gift this to my brother..idk ☺ great video!

Thank you so very much! Aromatics Elixir was one of the first perfumes I ever wore + fell in love with! I don’t have a bottle at present and have been looking. I do have Aromatics in Black, though, and am now inspired to wear it today! LOVE Fracas (I love big, bold tuberose scents). Also really enjoy Miss Dior (and that sweet bottle). Sinner I used to wear (also a beautiful bottle) but now feel like there are so many similar scents. Haven’t tried the other two but will try to get my hands on them. 🤗☺️

Lanvin! 👏🏽 Love your history/knowledge on this house. I have a vintage Arpege like yours and love it; I need to discover the others in this house. It’s good to know the DNA isn’t identical; Marc Jacobs tends to have that issue with his fragrances. I haven’t completed the whole video because I need to go to bed! 😆 But I’ll be back to watch the rest. Love the hat. 💛

I love classic scents & had purchased Arpege last year but sadly the perfume was rancid & smelled like poopy diapers. I get nauseous just thinking about it lol.

Wow!!!! I believe it. It could have been spoiled. Or, sometimes our chemistries or noses just don’t like something. I forgot to mention that when I first smelled Arpege I didn’t like it.
@@savorsalvagescent2300 it smelled rotten out of the bottle & spayed on a tester sadly. Because Arpege is such a classic I'm considering a repurchase but from a better seller. This bad one was a tester from overstock so don't recommend them for fragrance, likely an improper storage issue
