Okay y’all! I made this pie! Not only was it filling, but it was DELICIOUS!! Even the non vegans in my family loved it!! You have to make this pie!!!❤❤❤❤
Okayyyyu I will😅
Thank you for the feedback!
I just made it with only 3 plantains as that's all I had and I had to add one table spoon maple for extra sweetness
It's nice enough I suppose. Very clever idea though as it has protein 🎉
I served mine after about one hour chilling.
Came for the recipe, stayed for the personality
Omg. I couldn't find plantains ANYWHERE so I made the base and turned it into cookies. SO GOOD!
I found Broccoli Mum as a result of looking for a recipe with plantains that someone gave to me. This recipe is absolutely delicious made just the way it is in the video. My family is not plant based or sugar/fat free but this is delicious to everyone! So at last I found a plant based recipe that is loved by the entire family! Can't wait to try more of your recipes. Thank you so very much!
Ami you’re amazing and a delightful gift to the plant-based world. 💚
Correction, a delightful gift to any world 🙂
Made today was fantastic. Tweaked the recipe based upon what I had on hand. Used canelli beans instead of chick peas. Used chocolate protein powder instead of the cocoa powder. Used quite a bit of pea protein milk to thin both the crust and filling. Ended up with more filling than necessary but it won’t go to waste. Topped with chopped walnuts and coconut flakes. This recipe is a keeper. Thanks!
I made this and it was AMAZING! Actually, I had a roasted purple sweet potato and a plantain that I needed to use so I made a smaller version combining the two. The texture is so very decadent. The pie is also really filling, it’s going to take me a while to eat it all. Thanks for the recipe Ami!
Love how real your videos are! You cut the perfect peice and then drop it on camera -lol! Then use its "bounce-ability" as one of the added features and bonuses to making the recipe. Haha! That was cute. Looks delicious. Cant wait to try it! ❤🎉
Of course I forgot the silken tofu!!! Ugh... I will go tomorrow and then I can make it.
You . Are. My. Hero!!! Ami, your recipes have been what have kept me on track throughout my journey! As a volume eater and chocoholic myself, I know I can ALWAYS count on you for yummy inspiration. I posted this once before, perhaps if we get enough likes you’ll consider taking a stab (no pun intended) at a cheesecake inspired treat?
You’re the best Ami! Thank you for what you do for all of us!
Much love from Michigan!
Made for my wife yesterday and she absolutely loved it. Next time probably try with sweet potato since I always have them on hand. Thanks for the great videos!
I made this today it is really good! My husband loved it too and he doesn’t normally doesn’t “love” a lot of healthier desserts I’ve tried to make. I’ve honestly never had plantains so I’m not sure if I picked out good ones when I was shopping I think they could have been sweeter. I did add some dates to the pie mix to sweeten it a little more. One thing I ran into is the plantain and the silken tofu mixture got so thick even with some plant milk added my vitamix errored out a few times needing a cool down break. I ended up using a lot more plant milk in the mix than I thought I would need to make it creamy. I have made a dessert similar to this before with sweet potatoes but it used melted chocolate chips in it to make it set. I liked that this recipe didn’t have chocolate chips because I don’t want the sweetness from cane sugar. I like that the plantain makes it set without coconut oil or anything like that. All and all I really enjoyed this and I liked trying something new and in a dessert! Would make again!
That happened to my vitamix as well. I kept having to turn it on to let it cool a bit. I also had to add extra plant milk.
I use plantains a lot and for this you just want to make sure they have gone black. The more black, the more sweeter.
But this is definitely a keeper for healthy a dessert. 😊
You can use chia seeds as well to help it set. ❤
What a joy you are, Ami ! I’m off to buy my plantains!!
Had this on my mind all night while working. Ended up a little lumpy because I put too much into the tiny food processor, but oh is it tasty and filling! Started a on a raw plant diet, but this really changes up the menu and gives me a healthy snack to keep me full while working so that I'm not craving sweets and wanting to purchase junk food. Thank you!
Yum!! In the US you can also find these at Latin markets. (Plantains, called plátanos) The mainstream grocery stores may also have them but tend to toss them when they start turning black. I’m used to eating these fried in the green or sweet stage with Puerto Rican food, so this is one good way to eat them without the oil.
Plátanos are bananas w here i come from.
Oh, yes! I will make that. The texture is so lovely!!! You're enthusiasm is going to help me back on the road to whole food plant based diet! Thank you!!
That looks amazing! I am a chocoholic as well! And have even WFPB for about 6 years. Thank you for sharing this recipe. I am going to try it as soon as I get the ingredients!
This pie BLEW MY MIND, Ami!!!! 🤯❤️❤️❤️ Made it today (waited forever for my plantain to ripen) and it is soooooooo good! Absolutely going to be a regular in my book, recipe book! 🎉🎉🎉Thanks for all your creativity in these Starch Solution recipes!
How have I only just found you!!!! This looks amazing 🤩🤩🤩
You're so creative! I LOVE all things chocolate, and the pie looks amazing. 😋
Okay it’s 545am and now making this! For later in the day a real treat! Thanks so much
This recipe looks great! You've won a new subscriber. 😊
What a fabulous recipe! Well done you!
Loved this!! Plantains are on my shopping list for sure. I did make the base and rolled them into healthy balls of yumminess. Thank you, Ami!!😘
Bahahaha!! It's still alive!! 🤣🤣🤣Oh God, you crack me up Amy. Hilarious! You're gorgeous and such a blessing. Thank you for being you and for everything you do.
Thank you so much for sharing your recipe 🙏🏻

I went out and bought plantains!! Can't wait to try this!! Love your channel and all you do!!
I love this recipe! Can’t wait to make it! Thank you!
Thanks for the chocolate pudding pie recipe. ❤
Looks awesome! Totally going to make this!!
I made this and it was not only easy, but delicious! I let the plantains ripen until they turned black. I love that I can enjoy high protein, healthy desserts. Thanks Amy!
That's a wonderful recipe and I even have platanos in the house! Subscribed to your channel and shared on my Vegan Treats board on Pinterest.
Wow. I’ve gotta try. Thank you 😍
Oh my words!!! My mouth is watering 😊…thank you ❤
GONNA TRY THIS THIS WEEKEND!!! THANK YOU!!
Ami,
I can’t wait to try this. I bought some plantains at the store now, so just need to wait until they are ripe enough. Keep these recipes come girl I’m a huge chocolate fan as well. Thank you for all you do and your wonderful inspiration!! ❤️❤️
Same here. Just went and bought some plantains!!
🇨🇦🥰 my plantains are ripe and ready. I’m making this today! Thanks!
Ver very yummy looking! Thank you gonna try this one!
Ami, you need a Tovolo spatula . You will be blown away how it can scrape the Vitamix, bowls and jars
I made this in the morning and am just having my first piece. It is so delicious! It's easy to make and the plantains give it enough sweetness. A keeper for sure.
❤❤😮😮 thanks for your recepices...dear Amy ❤❤😊😊
This looks really good! Will have to give it a try!
Omg! Just made this...I used chocolate peanut butter granola for the crust...so delicious!!! Thank you! 😊
LOVE IT!🥰🫶🏻🤎
I tried it. I LOVE IT!!!! I already have 4 more plantains ripening on the counter for the next pie. I eat 1/8 pie for breakfast and it is so delicious and so filling!! Thank you!!
I made it with sweet potato and the consistency, the taste (had to put same maple syrup), absolutely delicious!! Thanks so much, Amy! Amazing!
I've been looking forward to making this delicious looking chocolate pie and finally found some plantains! I think I may have had them too long (two-three weeks) and placed them in a paper bag, thinking they would ripen nicely. All four were completely black but after slicing and placing in the microwave for 6 then 9 minutes they were rock hard??? Followed the recipe and used my Vitamix and after extensive blending, completed the pie and it's in the refrigerator cooling now. When I tasted the pudding on the tamper it didn't quite have Ami's consistency but it wasn't half bad. The crust was good enough to sit down and eat in one setting however, so I really can't wait to taste the end result. Plant based eating is so exciting when you can discover yummy, good for you food and still lose weight. Wishing all of you the very BEST ion your plant based journey. Cheers, Lani***Ithaca, New York
You crack me up! 😂 Love it and I’m def gonna make this!🙋🏽♂️
I just made this right now. I followed the ingredients and recipe to a T. It’s setting in the frig now. I can’t wait to see how it turned out. From tasting the filling, it tastes more plantain than chocolate, but i grew up eating plantains, so it’s still so yummy to me. But next time I’ll try it with double the amount of cocoa powder and more dates in the filling. Oh, crap, I don’t remember adding dates in the blender for the filling. Was I supposed to lol. I put the 6 plump major dates in the food process for the bottom crust. I’ll recheck the recipe. Lol
😂😂 you crack me up! Thank you, Subscribed! 😅
Looks delicious! Can you substitute bananas for the plantains?
Looks great!
I’m a chocoholic WFPB Vegan. This looks awesome.
Happy to find you! This looks absolutely delicious and I love all the rave reviews in the comments. My concern is I can always taste ingredients in not a fan of so I’m hesitant to make this. Like I wanted to live avocado pudding but I couldn’t get past the avocado taste. Same with sweet potato pudding. These were recipes from other creators. Can you taste the plantain at all? I’m not a fan of them. Either way, I’m searching through your recipes and I’m sure I’ll be making some.😊
"YUM"! Thank you!
I'm a pre diabetic and definitely will try this.
Silkentofu is also a fantastic base for tiramisu
I made this today and it turned out amazing. Reminds me of a cheesecake. I did need to add four dates to the filling, perhaps the plantains weren’t quite ripe enough. I’ll try using yams next time , no need to watch ripen on my counter for more than a week. Good job with this recipe though.
So… bought my plantains today. Looking forward to this making this recipe. I too am a chocolate lover. 😊
After tasting it hot, I regretted doing this recipe, but I chilled it and let the magic happen.
My 2yo daughter who eats nothing but white pasta and ice cream devoured it. My husband liked it, and I like it too!
I recommend! But I also added lots of dates lol
Looks very good.
OMG I cant wait to make this! Thank yiuuuuuuu👏👏👏🫶🫶🫶🫶
It looks delicious 🤩 but I don‘t have a microwave :/ do you think it works without?
Okay Love 💞 your video your a hoot and the pie look delicious.
Hello there! 👋
I am very excited to try this recipe, BUT I am gluten-intolerant and also cannot digest oats (even Gluten-Free Oats cause me a problem! 😢)
Any ideas, or tried & tested recommendations of what could be substituted instead? TY! 🙏♥️
I Love how real you are, licking everything like most people would with others heads turned! 😂 And, the bounce back was hilarious! I’m inspired! Btw, does it taste like tofu at all? I made a tofu pudding a long time ago and vowed never again because I could taste the tofu so strong 🤮
Brilliant - !!!! Best trademark yourself if you can - imitators will abound!!! If you opened a food truck, there would be no end to the line……Congrats on your unique cooking personality and technique🤩👏
Looks great, i prefer rock salt (sea salt formed before the oceans were contaminated with plastic).
When you taste your creations it makes me want to taste it too 😂 I hope to find plantains
What cooking option do you recommend besides the microwave for the plantains?
Your face when you taste something is so good! Makes me want to immediately go to my kitchen and make whatever you may have made. In this case, chocolate pie, yes please!
🌿🌷🌿 Me too !! 🥮🍠🍌🍫🥧
I'd add more dates not milk. Milk will make the oats soggy. Also, I make a similar one with Cashews. Whe you have finished scraping out the jug you ca add milk to jug, whizz it up, add some Maple syrup and you have a lovely milkshake.❤
I made this this evening with some Asian sweet potatoes, really dense, white inside, reddish skin. I added a couple dates and a bit of maple syrup, but not much. I'm actually eager to dive in, but decided to hold off until tomorrow. It's late and I think it could use more time to set. I also baked the crust for about 12 minutes or so. The texture and thickness of the pudding part is perfect. The crust is great. Can't wait to try it all together. I'll be sharing with others! ~Tracy
🌿🌷🌿 Hi Tracy.. That is my favorite ❤ sweet 🥔 potato.. and it's the only one I buy!!
@@merryworld4776 I know! So thick, dense and sweet!
this looks yum! thanks Amy for the recipe
I’ve never tasted plantain, but I bought two last week and I’m waiting for them to ripen and I’ll make a smaller version of this. It looks delicious
I made this. The first time around I made a mistake and didnt leave my blender on long enough. Second time I blended it to a smooth consistency. Im sure it will be better this time. I made the tart the first time - second time I made it a chocolate mousse . 🎉
It looks soooo delicious👌
This is genius!!!
Hi Ami, I live in Germany. I've Heard of plantains, but I've seen them Here. What Else could I usw to subsitute them? Looks so delicious. Would like to try it too. Gaby
We live in rural West Dorset which is lovely BUT no chance of getting plantain 😅 thanks for your videos!
Im actually made this pie and im not kidding...it was delicious...for a vegan........
Great dish, thank you, I think your lovely too. 🙂
This looks amazing !!! Thanks for sharing ❤
Made it. Waiting for it to chill.
Hazelnut powder would be good. It enhances the flavour of the chocolate. Think nuttella, kinder beuno etc
I’m going to try this! I typically make mine with avocado 🥑😋but this seems like it would be delicious and a bit less fats not that avocado is a bad fat in my opinion. But I tend to go overboard with them🥑.
It's a fat, but a healthy fat.
Ami. you are so creative. That looks delicious!
That really looks good😋 I have to try making that minus the dates, soy, peanut butter, and chickpeas. I have a horrible sensitivity to those items. Anyway, thanks for sharing.
Let us know what you come up with! 🙏🏼
@@AnaPoirier I use softened raisins for the sweet now and tapioca flour to thicken the mix. Then I will make a regular AP flour for the crust. I don't have a gluten problem.
Thanks Ami for all of your nice informational, entertaining and encouraging videos! I will make this chocolate pudding pie for a Valentines Day treat for my family ❤
Can you slow down and say if the garbanzos are raw or roasted? Also, about the cocoa and cacao, which one?
Can you taste the dates? And what can be used instead of peanut butter..maybe almond butter, or cashew?
That looks amazing ❤🎉
I would put my hiar back when preparing food to avoid cross-contamination or any chance of losing hair in food.
Looks so good but what can you sub the Tofu with if you can’t have soy?
Use chickpea tofu
Absolutely devine! Another masterpiece Amy :-)
I need this in my life 🍫
I can't do tofu. Shall I use more peanut butter? Look absolutely 😋
There are other forms of tofu like the kinds made from chickpeas or lentils
you had me at chocolate! can't wait to try this, I will have to use sweet potatoes as there is not a plantain within a hundred miles of me, thank you so much
Thanks for the idea. I’m the same here. 😍
Great recipe! If I don’t have a microwave, how do you suggest I cook plantains? 😊
Try baking them. 😊
I can confirm that this creation is truely delicious and inspired. Definately going to try more of your recipes.
I put a splash more milk into the base mixture and baked for 15mins. Its a shame to change the texture, but 📢 raw oats are actually bad for you. Not being high and mighty at all, only found out myself last year. Apparently they contain a compound which stops you absorbing minerals properly.
Baking is not too much effort to adapt, so the extra step might be worth consideration.
I’m going to try adding Bircher oats. Letting them sit overnight with some lemon juice majorly reduces the antinutrients. Also, always use organic oats. Regular oats are heavily sprayed with toxic chemicals.
We never get raw oats do we? That would mean they were straight from the field oats with the kernels, hulls and stalks of the oat plant still intact. Rolled oats have been pre-steamed and heated to destroy potentially harmful pathogens, making them safe to eat. Dr. Esselstyn eats them without cooking every day. I eat them everyday also with fruit & yogurt .. yummy.
